Global Lords: The Undead's Mobile Fortress
Chapter 363 183: Central Intelligence (3)
Goblins aren't even worth mentioning. They probably don't even know what their Ancestors were. Those little green-skins are completely indiscriminate; driven by lust, they'd dare to mate with any animal. There's no chance they worship their Ancestors, though worshipping a Demon God is a possibility.
The Lizardmen, on the other hand, are a proper Beastman Race. They have always had the custom of worshipping their Ancestors. This is a tradition for almost all Beastman Tribes; even the Tabu Minotaurs worship their Ancestors.
It was a good thing there were Lizardmen in the Alliance Army; otherwise, Li Ziyu wouldn't have been able to obtain any Sacrificial Bones.
Blood Crystals weren't as mysterious as Sacrificial Bones. When Warriors reached a certain level of power, they would condense Essence Blood. The system, upon decomposing these powerful Warriors, would then refine this Essence Blood to form Blood Crystals.
There were many powerful Warriors in the Alliance Army, so a large number of Blood Crystals were formed—more than enough for his use.
He moved the Sacrificial Bones and Blood Crystals out, setting them aside separately.
Sacrificial Bones had no fixed form; any remnant of an Ancestor would suffice. Thus, the bones could come from any part of the body. The collection included skulls, arm bones, and leg bones; Li Ziyu even saw cervical vertebrae and hip joints.
The appearance of these bones varied. Some were pitch-black as if charred, the kind of bone a dog wouldn't even deign to chew. Others, however, gleamed brightly, as smooth and lustrous as fine jade—one look and you could tell they had been polished by countless hands over the years.
Normally, it would be quite difficult to obtain Sacrificial Bones. After all, they were all in the hands of Priests, who treasured them and would protect them with their lives. To acquire them, one would have to go to war with who knows how many Tribes.
A Priest's status within a Tribe was considerably high, and they would never just stand by and watch an outsider take away the Sacrificial Bones.
Snatching Sacrificial Bones was no different from digging up a Tribe's ancestral graves; they would surely fight you to the death over it.
However, after the battle with the Alliance Army, many Priests had died on the battlefield. This allowed Li Ziyu to harvest a great number of Sacrificial Bones. Forget 100 units—he had enough to double or even triple that amount.
Blood Crystals, condensed from the Essence Blood of powerful Warriors, were a valuable commodity. For the many Races that grew stronger by cultivating blood energy, they were like a Miracle Elixir—much like the Soul Fire of the Undead was to Demonized Creatures. Li Ziyu curiously took one out to examine it. They were ruby-like crystals, each about the size of a coin and shaped like an irregular polygon.
Li Ziyu had obtained tens of thousands of Blood Crystals this time. He felt they were likely very valuable, especially to a Race like the Vampires. 'I should save these,' he thought, 'and find a Vampire Lord later to trade for some useful resources.'
To the Skeleton Undead Race, Blood Crystals weren't actually that valuable. After all, they were just a pile of bones. Forget blood—you couldn't find a single shred of flesh on them. What use were Blood Crystals to the Undead?
That left two resources: Soul Crystals and Death Breath Crystals. Judging by their names, they seemed related to the Undead. They weren't among his spoils of war, and Li Ziyu had never seen either of them before, so he didn't even know what they looked like.
'I heard about Soul Crystals all the time in the games from my past life, but this is fucking reality! Where the hell am I supposed to find a Crystal mine?'
'Forget Soul Crystals—I haven't seen a single regular Crystal since I came to this Otherworld.'
The upgrade for the Undead Fortress was stalled by a lack of resources, making Li Ziyu anxious. He frowned, a clear look of displeasure on his face.
"Master, what's wrong? If something is troubling you, you can tell me." Seeing Li Ziyu's expression, Mei Ji floated over. Hovering beside him, she spoke in a delicate, gentle voice that carried a soothing quality.
As a Ghost who was once a Fox Maiden, Mei Ji's Spiritual Power was quite strong. Under her soothing influence, Li Ziyu's furrowed brow slowly relaxed, and he let out a long sigh.
"I need two materials, but I've never seen them, nor do I know where to find them," Li Ziyu said softly.
The four Fox Maidens were as beautiful as flowers. Some were plump, others slender—each possessed a unique beauty. Unfortunately, they were all Ghosts. You would know it as soon as you got close; their bodies were as cold as ice. This fact kept Li Ziyu perfectly composed; he wouldn't dare make any other moves. However, having them keep him company and chat was no problem at all.
