Global Lords: The Undead's Mobile Fortress
Chapter 360 182: Harvest Time
This was proper etiquette. It was a favor that Li Ziyu had allowed him into this Wasteland. He was a guest, and as a guest, he had to be polite. If he were to attack the Tribes one by one and plunder all their resources, what would Li Ziyu think? And how would Li Ziyu develop?
Behaving unscrupulously on another's territory was obviously a deliberate provocation. It would force their hand, leaving them no choice but to fight!
What Batubohe needed now was to rest and recuperate, not ignite the flames of war, so he behaved with great restraint. The upside to this self-control was that Li Ziyu was very pleased. The two contacted each other more frequently and were on the verge of becoming friends.
Before, the Cancerous Tumor Alliance Army had weighed on Li Ziyu's mind like a great mountain. He had poured all his energy into preparing for battle, putting his development on hold for a long time. Nearly all his considerations had been focused on the war. Now that the crisis with the Cancerous Tumor Alliance Army was resolved, he finally had a stable period for development and began to ponder his next move.
He couldn't hole up in a corner of the Wasteland forever; he would have to venture out eventually. From the information everyone shared in the chat channels, he could deduce that quite a few powerhouses had already emerged among the Transmigrators. For example, those Lords commanding the Giant Dragon Race, Giant Beast Race, Angel Race, Demon Race, and others had developed for a long time now, and their power was already formidable.
As a Transmigrator himself, Li Ziyu knew exactly how other Transmigrators thought. They wouldn't settle for mediocrity—or rather, they were forced to rise above it. The Otherworld was too dangerous. To live here in safety, one could only grow stronger and stronger. But the path to power required a vast amount of resources, and gathering them on your own would inevitably offend many people. To grow stronger was to fight continuously.
At the current stage, it wasn't that Transmigrators could defeat the Natives, but that they could stand on equal footing with them. This in itself was a good thing.
But the Natives everywhere weren't as weak as the ones around him. In the grand scheme of the Otherworld, beings like goblins, Lizardmen, and the Headhunter Race were nothing special. The war that had almost led to his downfall was likely considered trivial in the eyes of those powerful City Lords.
The gap was still immense.
Many Transmigrators were different from Li Ziyu. They wouldn't be content to just coast; they were ambitious and truly wanted to contend for supremacy and acquire more. Even if Li Ziyu kept to his remote corner, he would have to face them sooner or later.
Rather than get wiped out later, it was better to find a way to strive for greater power now!
The development of the Undead Fortress had been stagnant for a long time and needed to resume. And so, Li Ziyu pulled up the plans for a brand-new, Main City Level structure he had long wanted to build but couldn't for various reasons—the Great Tomb.
In the past, the resources required for the Great Tomb were an astronomical figure to him, but after the great war, they were no longer a big deal.
'Let's do it. Build the Great Tomb!'
As a Main City building, the Great Tomb's construction time was not short, and the commotion it kicked up was immense. The entire Bone Plate Platform was trembling. An empty plot of land was cordoned off as plumes of dust and black mist continuously rose into the air, painting an apocalyptic scene.
The Tabu Minotaurs were dumbfounded. They were accustomed to new buildings appearing on the platform, having seen it many times before. But this was the first time the commotion was this huge. It was a little frightening. 'What is the Lord City Lord planning to build?'
Li Ziyu himself was startled. He hadn't expected the construction of the Great Tomb to cause such a commotion. It only made him look forward to its completion even more. 'I wonder what kind of surprise this building will bring.'
He glanced at the system, which indicated that the Great Tomb would take five days to complete. With that, Li Ziyu decided to just leave it be.
"Boss! What's being built out there?" Liu Xingxing and Zhang Peng had seen the construction site for the Great Tomb and hurried over to ask.
"Oh, just building a tomb," Li Ziyu replied casually.
"A tomb? What's it for?" Liu Xingxing asked curiously. He had a feeling the "tomb" Li Ziyu mentioned wasn't the ordinary kind for burying bodies.
"I don't know. It's not finished yet, is it? We'll find out when it's built." Li Ziyu shrugged. He genuinely didn't know the specifics of the Great Tomb.
Liu Xingxing thought that made sense, so he didn't press the issue.
