Li Ziyu waved his hand, and the block formations of Skeleton Undead once again advanced to meet the enemy.

’If you charge, I’ll just hold the line. Why would I be afraid of you?’

The Undead aren’t afraid of a war of attrition!

The battlefield once again became a meat grinder. The Goblin Warriors had regained the upper hand, constantly pushing the front line forward. Skeleton Undead fell in droves, while at the same time, the block formations from the rear continuously joined the battle, desperately trying to resist and halt the goblin advance.

At first, the Goblin Warriors were a little panicked. They warily scanned their surroundings but saw no sign of the hammer-wielding Undead. With the tide now turning in their favor, they calmed down and grew excited, howling as they pressed their fierce assault.

Atop the Alliance Army’s high platform, Palamede silently watched the battlefield. He had already ordered the Catapults to be readied but had yet to give the command to fire. Nor had he dispatched more Warriors. He simply let the goblins Charge. They had the advantage now, and he was waiting for the Undead to make their real move. ’Go on, send out those hammer-wielding Undead if you have the guts.’

"Boss, we can barely hold them back," Liu Xingxing said hurriedly. He felt a surge of panic as he watched wave after wave of Undead go up, yet the front line was still being pushed back toward the fortress.

"What’s there to panic about? This is just the beginning," Li Ziyu said reassuringly.

He gazed toward the distant Alliance Camp. ’The enemy doesn’t seem to have any intention of sending reinforcements. Heh, it looks like they’re trying to set a trap, forcing me to dispatch the Elite Heavy Hammer Skeleton Warriors so they can figure out a way to destroy them?’

’They must have come up with a way to deal with the Elite Heavy Hammer Skeleton Warriors; otherwise, their rear flank wouldn’t be so quiet.’

’But why would I send out the Elite Heavy Hammer Skeleton Warriors? There’s no need. Pushing the front line all the way to the Undead Fortress? Aren’t they dreaming?’

According to Li Ziyu’s plan, the closer the enemy got, the more Undead they would face. The Alliance Army wasn’t sending reinforcements, meaning every goblin that fell was a permanent loss. The farther they pushed, the more of them would die. He, on the other hand, could dispatch more Skeleton Undead to the front line at any time. He would completely devour these goblin cannon fodder.

’We’ll see who gets anxious first.’

The goblins lacked the ability to punch through the Undead Front Line; they could only push forward inch by inch. This war of attrition was well within Li Ziyu’s acceptable limits—in fact, the longer it dragged on, the better.

Palamede realized this as well. The Undead showed no sign of dispatching those hammer-wielding Undead, using only ordinary Skeletons to resist the goblins. This couldn’t go on. The Goblin Warriors were getting farther and farther from the Alliance Army. If he didn’t send reinforcements and something unexpected happened, it would turn into a complete rout.

"Send the Goblin Warriors, Goblin Cavalry, and Headhunter Tribe War Chariots to support them," Palamede ordered his herald.

There was movement in the Alliance Camp once again. The Goblin Cavalry set out first, riding on wolves or dogs. They carried Great Sabers nearly as long as their own bodies as they galloped toward the Undead. More Goblin Warriors also mobilized. They were more orderly than their brethren at the front, and this time, they did not advance as slowly as before.

Paths were cleared as the Headhunter Tribe War Chariots began to move. These were chariots in the ancient style, pulled by two horses with a carriage in the back that could hold five members of the Headhunter Race. Huge blades had been affixed to the wheels, and at the chariot’s full Speed, these blades could inflict horrifying damage.

The Goblin Cavalry split into several columns as they galloped. The Goblin Warriors at the front spontaneously cleared a path, allowing the cavalry to pass through the throng and charge directly at the Skeleton Undead’s position.

Warg Mounts are inherently aggressive. After being tamed by the goblins, their ferocity was not diminished but enhanced. Facing the Skeleton Undead ahead, they leaped and plunged directly into the skeletal horde, while the Goblin Knights on their backs swung their Great Sabers, slashing left and right.

Their swords were long and broad enough that a single chop to a Skeleton Undead’s head could split the skull in two, causing its Soul Fire to dissipate. These riders were the elite masters of the goblin tribes.

However, Goblin Cavalry were not actually suited for charging into such dense formations. They preferred to maneuver their Warg Mounts with agility across open fields; losing their mobility would cut their combat effectiveness by more than half.

But cavalry was still cavalry, and the force of their impact was not to be underestimated. The Goblin Cavalry plunged straight into the mass of Undead, madly trying to Charge toward the Undead Fortress. But more and more Skeleton Undead appeared before them, blocking their path with their own bodies.

The farther forward they pushed, the more enemies they faced. The Goblin Cavalry had no path of retreat, as more of their own were charging in from behind. Their only options were to die or fight their way through!

’We’ll risk it all!’

With do-or-die resolve, the Goblin Cavalry struggled to punch through the Undead Front Line. From his Watchtower, Li Ziyu watched as thin lines snaked their way through the ranks of Skeleton Undead. They broke through the first line of defense and were about to push deeper when more Undead immediately swarmed up to block their path, surrounding the Goblin Cavalry.

Charging on a Warg Mount consumed a great deal of its stamina. Having finally broken through the first defensive line, the cavalry found themselves facing even more Skeleton Undead swarming toward them. Countless Weapons struck the Warg Mounts and Goblin Knights from all directions. The Warg Mounts shrieked in agony as their riders were pulled from their backs and hacked to death by a storm of blades.
