The Beastman heroes were infuriated by Lin Yu’s words.

For the enemy to still want to fight while surrounded by so many of them—how much must he look down on them?

‘Sorry, but in my eyes, you’re all trash!’

“Bastard, who do you think you are? Attacking the city alone and you still want to see our leader?”

“Don’t think you can do whatever you want just because you’re a high rank!”

“There was a Human Lord before who tried to pull a decapitation strike, banking on his many Flying Heroes. Didn’t we just send him packing with heavy losses?!”

“And now you have the gall to come here alone? Who gave you the courage to do that?”

A Lion-man hero stepped out from the crowd of Beastmen and bellowed.

“Me? Just your average human hero.”

“As for courage… I guess Liang Jingru gave it to me?”

“What?” the Lion-man asked, confused.

“Hahaha, I’m just messing with you. Why would I need courage? Anyone can just waltz in here, can’t they? I mean, I practically made it to your Lord’s Mansion before you even spotted me.”

“If I hadn’t stopped to wait for you, you probably wouldn’t have even caught a glimpse of my shadow~”

“So? Care for a fight?” Lin Yu asked.

The next moment, his figure vanished. He broke out of the Beastmen’s encirclement and reappeared before the Lord’s Mansion, running a hand over the protective shield that enveloped it. “If you won’t fight, then I’ll gladly claim your territory!”

The speed Lin Yu displayed stunned all the Beastman heroes.

They exchanged glances, at a loss.

“Sir, let us go test his mettle!”

“We can track his movements.”

A Catman hero requested, stepping forward.

The Lion-man couldn’t have asked for more and agreed at once.

“Go on, then. Be careful!”

A group of Catmen emerged from the surrounding Beastman heroes. There were five of them in total, all of Legendary rank.

The five surrounded Lin Yu and, without a word, charged forward with brandished daggers.

Lin Yu sneered. “You think a few of you are enough to take me down?”

Relying on his Body Technique and speed, he slipped through the net of blades they wove like a phantom.

The Catman heroes were not discouraged. Their eyes flashed with light. Aided by a skill, their ability to track motion skyrocketed, and they immediately perceived Lin Yu’s trajectory.

Using this foresight, the five launched a coordinated strike at Lin Yu with their daggers.

Lin Yu tilted his head, dodging the dagger aimed at his skull, while simultaneously swinging his sword to block the other four attacks.

With the clash of metal, the daggers in the hands of four of the Catman heroes shattered.

Lin Yu glanced at the new crack in his sword and praised them, “Not bad. You can actually see me!”

“And even managed to attack me. Your reflexes are quite good.”

“But what about this?”

Lin Yu charged the five Catmen again, his sword a blur of even greater speed.

As his sword broke the sound barrier, it unleashed a deafening sonic boom.

Wherever the arc of his blade passed, the air was displaced, creating a vacuum. This then collapsed to form Sword Qi composed purely of air, with no other energy involved.

Seeing the several streams of roaring Sword Qi fly toward them, the Catman heroes felt the hair on their necks stand up and reflexively leaped away.

The air-based Sword Qi struck the ground, carving several fissures and kicking up clouds of dust.

However, even though they dodged the attack, their five-man formation was broken. Lin Yu accelerated again, keeping his speed right on the edge of the sound barrier without quite breaking through.

His form flickered between the five Catman heroes as he relentlessly attacked them.

The five Catman heroes, knowing the situation was dire, also went all out.

The moment the lead Catman hero’s dagger touched Lin Yu’s sword, it too shattered.

However, he was prepared. He extended sharp claws from his hands, infused them with Spiritual Energy, and just barely managed to block Lin Yu’s sword.

For a moment, it seemed as if countless versions of Lin Yu surrounded the five Catman heroes, each one striking out at them.

The scene looked as though a squad of “Lin Yus” was swarming the five Catman heroes.

The battle didn’t last long. The Catman heroes’ claws couldn’t hold out and were soon severed by Lin Yu’s sword.

With nothing left to parry his weapon, the five Catman heroes lost their lives to his blade within a few breaths.

Lin Yu withdrew his sword, standing before the Lord’s Mansion. He gently wiped the blood from the blade and shook his head.

He looked at the terrified expressions on the faces of the surrounding Beastmen and felt a secret thrill.

‘After all this time in the tournament, this was the first truly satisfying fight he’d had.’

The Lion-man hero, standing among the other Beastmen, felt a pang of fear as he watched Lin Yu. He quickly composed himself, however, and decided to go for broke. ℯ

Most importantly, he refused to believe that so many of them couldn’t handle a single hero.

At his subtle signal, the Priests and Wizards among the Beastmen began to cast spells quietly from within the crowd.

The slight fluctuations in energy put Lin Yu on alert, but once he sensed the energy was being used to form an Energy Barrier, he paid it no mind, letting the Beastmen do as they pleased.

Sure enough, in less than a minute, an Energy Barrier materialized, trapping Lin Yu inside.

Seeing Lin Yu trapped, the Lion-man burst out laughing.

“Human, you’re so proud of your speed, aren’t you?”

“If you had left right after your little victory just now, I would’ve been helpless.”

“But now… let’s see how fast you can be!”

“This is it?” Lin Yu pointed dismissively at the barrier around him.
