Chapter 457 - 39: Accidentally Became Superman

Chapter 457: Chapter 39: Accidentally Became Superman

The lords who had pledged allegiance to Lin Yu were conquering cities and territories. Meanwhile, the Slimes, in their ongoing harassment campaign, captured and destroyed some territories that lacked staying power, retrieving their Free Territory Hearts.

Additionally, in the battles on the Titan Continent and the Beastman Continent, the armies Lin Yu had dispatched killed several lords, providing him with a good amount of lord experience.

Thus, after the third phase began and just before a full year had passed, both Lin Yu’s lord level and territory level rose to 7.

Upgrading his lord and territory levels to 6 and 7 didn’t present any special choices.

Upon reaching lord levels 6 and 7, Lin Yu chose "Random Talent +1" on both occasions.

As a result, both random upgrades landed on his "Summoner" talent.

-----------------

[Summoner III]:

Territory Effect: Territory heroes gain the Summoning Technique skill. Each hero can summon eight territory heroes of a lower tier than themselves, or forty territory soldiers.

Lord Effect: The lord gains the Summoning Technique skill and can summon a number of heroes equal to 0.4% of the territory’s total hero population, or a number of soldiers equal to 0.04% of the territory’s total soldier population.

(If the calculated number of summons is less than one, it defaults to one.)

Lord Effect: The lord gains an aura skill—Blessing Aura.

[Blessing Aura]: Within a one-thousand-meter radius of the lord, the attributes of all territory members and the lord’s summons are increased by 50%.

-----------------

When the Summoner talent was upgraded to its second level, the number of summons increased. The number of units territory heroes could summon doubled, while the number Lin Yu himself could summon quadrupled.

When upgraded to its third level, the number of units territory heroes could summon doubled again.

As for Lin Yu, he gained the "Blessing Aura," an aura exclusive to Summoners.

With this talent, any territory members and summons around Lin Yu would receive an epic enhancement.

For his territory level-ups to 6 and 7, Lin Yu chose "Random Territory Trait +1" once and also gained one Free Territory Trait Point.

He used the Free Territory Trait Point on [Space-Time Ripple].

-----------------

[Territory Trait—Space-Time Ripple III]:

The World Tree possesses the ability to obtain information from the All Heavens and Myriads of Realms.

For each level the Lord Core gains, one item related to the World Tree can be acquired from the All Heavens and Myriads of Realms.

When drawing blueprints, you can specify a category. Currently available filters: 1.

-----------------

After its upgrade to level 3, Space-Time Ripple was no longer limited to just drawing building blueprints. It now yielded items related to the World Tree.

In the long run, it was a fairly good upgrade.

However, if Lin Yu specifically wanted to draw a building blueprint, this upgrade wasn’t so great.

The other random upgrade point leveled up Compressed Space.

-----------------

[Compressed Space II]: The World Tree has absorbed the power of space and possesses the ability to compress the territory’s space.

Compressing space consumes energy continuously. The exact amount depends on the scope and factor of the compression.

A target area can be selected for compression. The compressed space only becomes visible upon entering that area.

-----------------

After the upgrade, the ability gained a new effect: the power to compress specific areas of the territory.

Initially, after reading the description of the upgraded trait, Lin Yu dismissed it as unimportant.

But after experimenting with the trait’s effects, Lin Yu was overjoyed.

The effect of localized spatial compression was simply stunning.

Not only could it compress and hide large areas, but it could also make an ordinary house exhibit the same kind of spatial expansion seen in the Wisdom Library and the Lord’s Mansion.

All one had to do was build a small house over the compressed space, with a single door for entry and exit.

Anyone entering the house would find themselves in the compressed space.

Following this, Lin Yu compressed the World Tree and its inner circle, hiding it within a surrounding ring of large trees.

From the outside, without stepping in, the territory’s entire inner circle looked like a miniature model built amidst the large trees.

He also didn’t have to worry about an enemy dropping a bomb and destroying the entire inner circle.

The bomb’s explosion wouldn’t be magnified upon entering the inner circle.

However, this came at a cost: 1% of the energy absorbed by the World Tree was now used to maintain the inner circle’s spatial compression.

But the price was well worth it. From now on, even if enemies knew Lin Yu’s territory was centered around a World Tree, they wouldn’t be able to find it easily after entering his domain.

-----------------

Of course, for Lin Yu, the improvements from these upgrades were just side benefits. The "Enlightenment" charges and "Space-Time Ripple" draws he gained from leveling up were his primary means of strengthening his territory.

Lin Yu hadn’t used them yet, both because he had been busy with official matters and because there were no pressing targets for another "Enlightenment" or a new draw.

Lin Yu finally found some free time after the research institute completed its work on the Anti-Gravity Flying Device, and the allied Titan Race lords took the new machines to the battlefield for live combat testing.

By this point, he had accumulated 3 charges of "Enlightenment."

And he had 4 draws from "Space-Time Ripple."

Deciding to save one "Enlightenment" charge for later, Lin Yu now had two opportunities to use the ability.

So, without hesitation, he used one on himself.

The three traits that appeared after the "Enlightenment" took effect were all quite potent.

-----------------

[Child of Nature]: You are the firstborn of nature, deeply favored by it. When you are in a natural environment possessing the power of nature, all your attributes are enhanced.
