Chapter 1004 - 307: Crimson Flame Divine Lamp
Three thousand Falling Stars intertwine and dance up and down, a starlit waterfall spanning tens of thousands of meters crosses the entire sky, weighty yet silent in its grandeur, and silent yet deep in its mystery.
Such a scene, a mere glimpse by a mortal would spell the end for their soul.
"It seems the Celestial Gate is no longer defendable."
A heavy voice full of sin resounded in the void, even the stars trembled unceasingly because of the mere sound.
There was a shadow flickering within the starlit waterfall; upon closer inspection, it was a young man in white garments, heavily imbued with scholarly air, with fine features, supporting the starry sky above with one hand, standing upon the pitch-black river with his feet, as if an eternal presence, timelessly existing in this place.
"So what? Whether defendable or not, what difference does it make?"
The "Scholar" spoke with indifference, showing no expression or emotion like a cold jade.
"Have you considered this? Once the Celestial Gate is breached by the Ice Kingdom, it won’t be stopped, and behind it, three hundred worlds may also sink into chaos. Once the balance of this world is broken, finding it again might be difficult."
The voice in the void suddenly became agitated, chattering endlessly, seemingly annoyed by the "Scholar’s" stubbornness.
The "Scholar" showed a mysterious smile, waved to send a star in the waterfall flying far away until it disappeared, and said calmly:
"Someone will surely guard it; defendable, then do so; indefensible, then not. That is the result, the track of real time, and my intervention holds no significance."
What does it matter even if hundreds of worlds are destroyed!
He had already witnessed the annihilation and birth of thousands upon thousands of worlds; destruction and rebirth are but eternal themes, what significance is there in halting them?
The voice in the void resounded once more: "The light of the future has long been extinguished, what purpose is there in lingering here between you and me!"
The "Scholar" shook his head, disagreeing with this statement, denying: "I am not lingering with you, it is you who are lingering with me, and that is why I linger with you."
"Your actions are pointless!"
"So what? I enjoy it...besides, nothing else to do~" the "Scholar" revealed a devilishly charming smile.
"..."
The voice in the void lapsed into long silence, seemingly tired.
...
The matter of the Celestial Gate was naturally not unnoticed, but rather watched by countless people, with innumerable eyes turning to this location.
"Even the Doomsday Game didn’t discover it in time, damn it, we were already on our way but arrived a step too late!"
A three-meter tall man with a red beard stomped furiously, saying, with each shout, flames erupted from the ground over ten meters high and then vanished like Illusion Mist.
He is known as the "Flame King," highly recognized among players, albeit hot-tempered, yet fair and just in all matters.
On this relatively small starry universe, roughly hundreds of players were standing outside the White Ice Illusion Mist; they rushed over upon receiving the mission, but arrived late.
Facing the Flame King, stood a brown-haired man in a white wool robe with four corners adorned with long tassels, wide chest, holding a friendly smile, standing barefoot upon the rocky ground, arms open:
"The Holy Light will protect them, hoping that we can hold the Celestial Gate."
He is John, known as the Child of Holy Light, a believer of the Holy Light Sect, a sect that spans many worlds, though names differ, they all worship the same Divine Spirit.
A woman with crimson long hair heard these words, holding back no longer, cursed and swore:
"Protect my ass, they surely can’t hold it. Either we rush forward now or withdraw, prepare for the Ice Kingdom’s army and endless demons."
The woman is called Sanna, also famous for her fiery temper, yet few dare provoke her, knowing she has an even stronger brother.
Beside, a black-haired, black-eyed man, fanning with a tied long hair, smilingly persuaded: "No need to be so pessimistic, I mean, what if, what if they do manage to hold it?"
"Stop dreaming, hold it my ass." Sanna turned back and shot him a glare.
"When speaking, please refrain from using the word ’ass’." The man continued unfazed, still smiling.
"Mind your own business!"
...
Just as a group of Tier Five Extraordinaries were embroiled in endless debate, they saw the icy Darkness erupt once more, with White Ice Illusion Mist visibly spreading outwards.
"Now what?" Sanna turned to look.
"Now...it’s likely over. We should go make preparations, best to evacuate the people of this world early, though it’s uncertain if time permits, if the Celestial Gate defenders can hold a while longer, it might be enough." The smiling man’s face twitched, still speaking optimistically.
Sanna sighed: "Impossible to hold, now it seems, at least three Celestial Calamity Demons will appear at the Celestial Gate, with the defense power of the Celestial Gate, there isn’t even a 1% chance of holding it, soon it will be breached."
Suddenly, there was a commotion in the crowd.
"What’s happening?" Sanna instinctively looked to her phone.
