James immediately nodded, beckoned to some of his people, and followed Si Youqin into the Banyan Forest.

It was their first time entering the Banyan Forest, and they were, naturally, utterly astonished.

"Our base is very different from other bases. You’ll learn more in time, but first, get to work!" Si Youqin said as she led them deeper inside.

James and the others nodded, forcing themselves to suppress their astonishment.

They arrived near a Diesel Tree, and Si Youqin pointed to the fruit on it. "Pick these ripe fruits and transport them to the ship for pressing!"

"Yes!" James and the others replied in unison.

Among the prisoners were a few Wood-Type Evolvers. Looking at the fruit on the tree, one of them immediately asked, "Captain Si, may we use our Superpowers to help pick and transport this fruit?"

Si Youqin glanced at him and smiled faintly. "Of course. If you have the ability, that is."

The Wood-Type Evolver was taken aback for a moment, then said confidently, "If it’s fruit growing on a plant, I can control it with my Superpower!"

Si Youqin said no more, simply motioning for him to try it for himself.

The Wood-Type Evolver immediately approached the Diesel Tree, summoned his Wood-Type Superpower, and tried to make the fruit fall from the branches.

But the next moment, he was shocked to discover he couldn’t control the fruit on the tree at all.

"How is this possible?" The Wood-Type Evolver’s eyes widened. ’Have my powers been sealed?’

But he could still feel himself channeling his Mental Energy, which meant his powers weren’t sealed!

Si Youqin plucked a Diesel Tree fruit from a low-hanging branch, tossed it to him, and said with a smile, "Try this one."

The Wood-Type Evolver instinctively caught the fruit and tried again.

He quickly gave up. While he seemed to have some minor control over the single fruit, the connection felt incredibly sluggish and resistant.

"How can this be?" The Wood-Type Evolver began to doubt himself for the first time. Since becoming an Evolver, he had never encountered a plant he was completely unable to control.

He could always exert at least some control over even naturally evolved plants—not like this, where it was completely unresponsive. It was like facing an insurmountable mountain.

"The plants in our base are special. Most Wood-Type Evolvers can’t control them," Si Youqin replied. "Work on improving yourself. Perhaps one day you’ll be able to use your Wood-Type Superpower to manipulate the plants here. But for now, get back to work the old-fashioned way."

"Yes!" the Wood-Type Evolver replied respectfully.

After this incident, James and his group of Evolvers held Peach Blossom Base in even greater awe.

They had always considered themselves, as Evolvers, to be at the apex of the pyramid. They never imagined there was another level above the top.

They picked the fruit, transported it to the supply ship, and began pressing it using the method Si Youqin had shown them.

They were all stunned when they saw the oil that was extracted.

Although they didn’t have any professional testing equipment, they could tell just from the appearance and smell that the extracted liquid was fuel.

"Captain, the oil yield is incredibly high!" the Wood-Type Evolver from before exclaimed, shocked as he watched the amount of fuel pressed from a single fruit.

James nodded. "It is. If this fuel can really be used directly, the value of that one tree is simply incalculable."

The Wood-Type Evolver nodded. "No wonder I couldn’t control that tree. Its evolutionary level must be extremely high, which is why it was beyond my control!"

James nodded slightly. "Mm, this Peach Blossom Base is truly incredible, to have found a plant with such a high level of evolution."

The others, their faces filled with awe, nodded in agreement.

Just as they were talking, Si Youqin appeared again. "I see you’ve already pressed some fuel."

James immediately replied, "Yes."

"I have an order from the Leader," Si Youqin said, relaying the command Ren Yuanyang had just issued. "The temperature is rising again, so all the air conditioners on the ships are to be turned on. The fuel you’ve just produced is to be added directly to the ships’ fuel tanks!"

The aircraft carrier fleet’s fuel reserves were already limited. After the long voyage, the supply ships didn’t have much left, so of course, they hadn’t been running the air conditioning.

But the outside temperature was rising again. To improve the workers’ efficiency, some cooling measures were necessary, so the decision was made to turn on the AC.

Hearing this command, James was once again shocked.

He knew there were some oil-producing plants in nature, but the oil they yielded always required processing before use. He had just been wondering if this freshly-pressed fuel could be used directly, and now he was being told to pour it straight into the ships’ fuel tanks!

"Captain Si, are you saying this fuel can be used by the ships directly? It doesn’t need any additional processing?" James couldn’t help but ask.

Si Youqin shook her head. "Of course not. It can be used directly."

With that, Si Youqin departed.

"Captain, it can really be used directly!" one of his men exclaimed, his eyes wide with shock. "And the Leader is letting *us* use it!"

Turning on the air conditioning just to cool them down would consume a massive amount of fuel. Back at the Xi’an Base, the higher-ups would never have spared the fuel to let them run the AC!

Even on the rare occasion that they did turn it on, it would be shut off again almost immediately.

"Yeah, we definitely made the right choice in joining Peach Blossom Base," James remarked, then immediately gave an order. "Alright everyone, let’s get moving! Work hard and show them what you can do. Let’s try to integrate into this base as quickly as possible!"
