Chapter 318: Chapter 199: Tributing Seeds, Pre-ordering Fuel

"Don’t worry, we’ll give them a proper welcome," Wang Jun replied. "Just be careful on your journey. If you run into any trouble, contact me directly. I’ll do my best to help."

"Thank you!"

After ending the call, Ji Yizhi was rather surprised. "I never would have thought the River Bird Fleet would be so decisive. To think they’d decide to join us just like that."

"It’s the right choice for them," Wang Jun analyzed. "After all, from their perspective, we’re the only ones who’ve developed an Evolution Potion with a one hundred percent success rate. That shows our base’s technology is far ahead of any other."

"That may be true, but it’s still impressive they could make such a decision so quickly," Ji Yizhi said with a slight nod. "It looks like we’ll need to keep a close eye on the River Bird Fleet’s situation to ensure they can reach us safely."

"Right, but the support we can offer is limited. Fuel is in extremely short supply," Wang Jun said, shaking his head.

Long Zhan had taken the vast majority of their fuel when he headed for Dawn Base.

"Should we place an advance order for some fuel from Peach Blossom Base, then?" Ji Yizhi suggested.

Wang Jun nodded. "I’ll contact Taoyuan Yang right away."

Peach Blossom Base was developing steadily, so Ren Yuanyang found himself with some free time, which he spent studying ancient texts.

When he saw Wang Jun’s message, he immediately initiated a video call.

"Brother Yang, we need to reserve some fuel. Our consumption rate is just too high, after all," Wang Jun said with a smile.

Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly. "You do need a large quantity. I’ll need time to prepare it on my end."

"That’s precisely why we’re putting in the order ahead of time," Wang Jun replied. "By the way, you can produce jet fuel and heavy fuel oil too, right?"

"We can," Ren Yuanyang confirmed with a nod.

After being enhanced by the system, those oil-producing crops could yield jet fuel and heavy fuel oil, suitable for aircraft and carriers or other large naval vessels.

Hearing this, Wang Jun felt a wave of relief.

"That’s great. The River Bird Fleet has decided to entrust the entire International Seed Bank to us for safekeeping," Wang Jun continued. "Once they deliver the seeds, I’ll arrange for a team to bring them over to you."

At this, Ren Yuanyang was completely stunned. "They’re willing to hand over the entire International Seed Bank?"

Wang Jun nodded. "Yes. They want to join us. They’re looking for an anchor in this flooded, apocalyptic world."

"I understand. But you should still be careful. You never know if they might be hiding some ulterior motive," Ren Yuanyang reminded him with a smile.

"Yes, we’ll be careful," Wang Jun replied. "Has there been any unusual activity over at Dawn Base?"

"Nothing, they’ve just deployed a large number of speedboats to patrol the area," Ren Yuanyang said, shaking his head.

"Looks like you really scared them off," Wang Jun remarked.

Ren Yuanyang just smiled and shook his head. "They’re probably just planning to fully reorganize Dawn Base before coming to cause trouble for me again."

"I doubt they have the guts for that," Wang Jun chuckled.

Ren Yuanyang changed the subject. "Is the toxin concentration in the rainwater still decreasing?"

Wang Jun nodded. "Yes, it’s still decreasing at the same rate as before."

"It looks like the toxins in the rain really are going to disappear," Ren Yuanyang said.

"But the toxins have already contaminated the seawater. We just bought that dizzy fish grass from your Peach Blossom Base, and now because of the toxins, we don’t dare plant it outside. Sigh, what terrible luck," Wang Jun said with a slight frown.

"Let’s just wait for now," Ren Yuanyang said reassuringly. "Once the toxins in the rain are gone, the toxins in the seawater will disperse and the concentration should become extremely low. It shouldn’t affect crop cultivation by then."

"I guess all we can do now is wait." Wang Jun looked resigned. "It looks like food is going to be a major problem going forward."

Ren Yuanyang smiled faintly. "If you face a food shortage, you’re always welcome to purchase grain from our base."

"Can your base’s food production really keep up with our consumption?" Wang Jun couldn’t help but ask for confirmation.

"You’ll have to see for yourself," Ren Yuanyang replied with a smile.

Seeing his relaxed expression, Wang Jun could only give him a thumbs-up. "Your base is truly on another level!"

"You flatter me, Captain Wang," Ren Yuanyang said modestly. "I’m still waiting to trade for some of the animals from your base."

"No problem. I’ll send you a list of all the animals on the Aircraft Carrier Base in a moment. Just tell me which ones you need, and we’ll send them over," Wang Jun agreed without hesitation.

"Great, then I’ll just order from the menu," Ren Yuanyang said, his eyes lighting up.

"No problem! Hold on, I’ll have someone send the list over," Wang Jun replied.

A moment later, Wang Jun sent over a list of animals.

Ren Yuanyang was surprised to find that the Aircraft Carrier Base didn’t have many animals. ’They must have cleared most of them out to make more space for rescuing people.’

He scanned the list, mentally calculating which animals to trade for first.

After all, the Banyan Forest wasn’t large enough to accommodate all the animals at once.

Just then, Xin Wan knocked on the door and walked into his office.

"Leader, our produced fuel has already filled up the warehouses. I was wondering, when the Aircraft Carrier Base purchases fuel, could we have their supply ships come here so we can pump the fuel directly onto them? Or, we could sell them the semi-processed materials and let them do the final pressing themselves."

Hearing Xin Wan’s words, Ren Yuanyang paused for a moment, then nodded. "That’s a good idea. I’m just worried they’d be reluctant to entrust their supply ships to us. Selling them the semi-processed materials is also a possibility. I’ll go discuss it with Captain Wang."

"Understood. I’ll wait for your update," Xin Wan replied before exiting the office.

"Captain Wang, my storage capacity over here is limited. Would it be possible for you to bring your supply ships to us? We could fill them up and then you could sail them back," Ren Yuanyang messaged Wang Jun directly.

Wang Jun was also taken aback for a moment when he saw the message, but he quickly replied, "Of course!"

Ren Yuanyang laughed. "Aren’t you worried we’ll make off with your supply ships, Captain Wang?"

"We’ve traded so many times. We have at least that basic level of trust," Wang Jun replied.

"We had a backup plan prepared, but it looks like we won’t need it," Ren Yuanyang said with a smile.

"A backup plan? Tell me about it," Wang Jun’s curiosity was piqued.

"We give you the unprocessed fruit, and you extract the oil yourselves," Ren Yuanyang replied.

"That works too. We happen to have plenty of manpower at our base. If sending them to the Aircraft Carrier Base is inconvenient, you can send them directly to Dawn Base after Captain Long takes it," Wang Jun immediately agreed that this was also a good plan.

Ren Yuanyang was slightly taken aback. "You’re that certain Captain Long will be able to take Dawn Base?"

"Of course!" Wang Jun was supremely confident. "Back in the day, we defeated Sea Eagle Country even when our weapons and equipment were far inferior. This is nothing compared to that."

Ren Yuanyang nodded. "That’s a fair point. I’ll be waiting for your good news, then. Once Captain Long occupies Dawn Base, we can conduct all our future trades there."

"Great, it’s a deal!" Wang Jun replied excitedly.

He had suspected Ren Yuanyang wanted him to treat Dawn Base as a secondary base because of its proximity to Peach Blossom Base. Now, his suspicion was confirmed.

After ending his conversation with Ren Yuanyang, Wang Jun immediately relayed the information to Ji Yizhi.

Ji Yizhi mulled it over for a moment before speaking. "Should we have all the empty supply ships start heading toward Dawn Base right now?"

Wang Jun nodded. "Exactly. You arrange for those supply ships to head over immediately. Have two frigates escort them, and at the same time, inform Old Long and tell him to provide support for their arrival."

"Understood!" Ji Yizhi immediately began making the arrangements.
