Global Dungeon: I Can See the Status Bar
Chapter 715 - 327: I Wonder If the Dragon God’s Purity... Is High? (2)
Two old men, nearly a thousand years old combined, are here playing with passion, huh!
No wonder Goodell has never had a wife in his life, and Isidro, who is about to transform into an Ancient Dragon Species, also has no spouse.
Which girl could tolerate these two being so lovey-dovey and at each other’s throats all day?
Even female dragons can’t!
The Silver Dragon’s strong wings suddenly flap, with wind and magic supporting this huge elegant creature as it suddenly flies into the sky, soaring through the clouds.
Logically, the body structure of a giant dragon is not suitable for aerodynamics.
Their bodies are heavy and not suitable for flying.
Yet Isidro can casually fly at supersonic speed, which is simply unscientific.
Unscientific, but indeed magical.
With each flap of its wings, it creates an effect similar to Wind Attribute Magic, forming a gust of wind below, carrying him swiftly over vast distances.
Such is the innate magic race, whose body structure can achieve the effect of a magic array. Can you handle that?
Lu Wenwu was just about to harshly criticize this kind of race born as masters, thinking if there were a creator, it would be quite unfair to other races.
But then he reconsidered...
What?
True Dragon Race is even more of a bug than the giant dragons of the Western Fantasy World?
Born as masters is actually me?
Then it’s all good.
Isidro didn’t know Lu Wenwu’s thoughts.
He flaps his wings and flies high, quickly passing over human cities, crossing mountains and rivers, speeding towards a certain direction.
While flying, he explains to Lu Wenwu about the matters on Dragon Island.
"Though Dragon Island is called an island, it’s actually a vast land, with enormous mountain regions inside, hidden by special spatial methods, needing special spatial methods for guidance and opening."
"Generally speaking, dragons like us, who have outgrown adolescence, only return to Dragon Island for a safe and reliable place for transformation or for regular Ten Thousand Dragons Conferences."
"This is where the Dragon Race nurtures young dragons, provides places for adult and mature dragons to transform and advance, and it’s also the headquarters for the Dragon King and the Dragon Race Elder Council, guarded by the most powerful Ancient Dragon Elders of the Dragon Race."
"Without guidance from pureblood dragon race, even divine spirits cannot find our ancestral land. Legend has it that Dragon Island was created by the Dragon God, hidden within a stable spatial rift, untraceable in the Prime Material Plane."
"The Elder Council... should be very powerful, right?" Lu Wenwu asked curiously.
Isidro confirmed, saying, "Naturally, the dragons who become elders are the strongest and smartest. They are the wings of the King of Dragons, the most reliable backbone of the Dragon Race."
"If I successfully transform and inherit the Ancient Dragon Bloodline this time back, I will officially become one of the elder candidates. When the elders of the Silver Dragon Race retire, I will be eligible to compete for the new generation of Silver Dragon Elders."
Lu Wenwu contemplated: "So at the top of the Dragon Race’s structure is the King of Dragons, followed by the Elder Council, and every so often everyone gathers on Dragon Island for a feast; on other days, each legion’s Legion Commander manages themselves?"
"Uh... you can generally understand it like that."
Isidro thought for a moment, his voice sounding somewhat hesitant.
"But it’s hard to talk about management, you know, most giant dragons are lazy, and not many stay in the legion’s station, they are mostly scattered across their own dragon nests around the world."
"Usually, unless they want to find a mate, giant dragons are mostly too lazy to move, nesting in their dragon nests, or enslaving some magic creatures to serve them, playing childish games."
"So... actually the purpose of the feast has nothing to do with governance, it’s essentially a giant matchmaking event, isn’t it?" Lu Wenwu remarked quietly, "The Elder Council finds opportunities to bring these recluse dragons together, hoping they can pair up after sparking some passion?"
"Cough, cough... aren’t you a bit young to be thinking about these things?"
Isidro clearly choked, his flying speed slowed down.
He didn’t directly admit it, but it was revealed in his words.
"Uncle Isidro, you forgot, I grew up in human society," Lu Wenwu muttered to himself, "Humans my age often already have two or three offspring!"
Isidro was silent for a good ten seconds before he reluctantly admitted: "Okay, okay... as you imagined, it’s indeed like that. You know, reproduction is extremely difficult for our Dragon Race, even if certain desires are quite fervent."
"We easily create some strange Sub-dragon Species, yet we struggle greatly with our reproduction, almost as if we were cursed. Expanding the population has always been a major issue for the Elder Council and the King of Dragons."
"To encourage these energetic fellows to channel their vigor into the Righteous Dao, Dragon Island came up with this so-called Ten Thousand Dragons Conference, which is actually a matchmaking event..."
Predictably, this is typical of giant dragons.
Giant dragons, a naturally magical race, almost arrogantly standing atop all creatures.
But there’s always been one issue troubling them—reproductive difficulties.
Not that they can’t conceive.
They can conceive and lay eggs.
The young dragon always gets stuck at the step where it can’t fully mature and emerge from the egg.
Just like chicks needing to peck out of the eggshell themselves.
The same goes for young dragons.
More extreme than chicks, dragon eggs themselves are very strong magic materials, and can’t be broken by external forces.
If young dragons don’t develop well, they can’t use innate Dragon Breath internally to promote and change the egg’s properties, ultimately using the magic inheritance carried by their Bloodline instinct to break the eggshell and be born.
In the Dragon Race’s history, there have been many instances of parents being unable to bear the sight of their offspring unable to be born, thus aiding in forcefully breaking the eggshell externally.
Without exception, in the mere seconds of the eggshell breaking, the young dragon perishes instantly without opening its eyes.
Giant dragons have a special term for this—stuck egg.
The extremely low birth rate of giant dragons is one of the most important reasons.
While Lu Wenwu and Isidro discussed the reproductive issues of giant dragons, unknowingly, they passed through a misty white passage.
As their vision restored, a huge "isolated island" shrouded in white mist appeared in the ocean.
Even at a distant, one can hear tender dragon roars.
Countless giant dragons are playing and cavorting in the mountains, chasing birds in the sky, capturing prey to hone their instincts.
"Dragon Island, our Dragon Race’s vital home!"
Isidro shouted excitedly, a gentle colored halo burst from his body, a unique Silver Dragon’s Dragon Power spread and bloomed towards the distance.
"Xiaowu, welcome home!"
In the distant valley, a low yet melodious dragon roar resounded, making one instinctively feel at peace.
Lu Wenwu clearly felt as if a force swept over his body, causing a part of his bloodline to resonate.
Strictly speaking, he indeed has a part of the giant dragon’s bloodline—fused earlier to cultivate the Demon Dragon Wings.
His Nether Yin Dragon Wings unfolded with a swoosh, with the fierce power of the Purgatory Dragon surging around.
Isidro had already witnessed it before, so he wasn’t surprised.
But the will that scanned Lu Wenwu clearly showed some hesitation and amazement.
However, after about half a second, that force receded like a tide, and the face of Dragon Island was fully unveiled to Lu Wenwu, as if lifting a sheer veil.
An excited Isidro explained proactively: "Don’t be nervous, this is the Dragon God’s will recording your aura, every giant dragon does this when they first come here."
"Generally speaking, most giant dragons complete this step at birth. It’s not unheard of for dragons like you to return to Dragon Island after being born outside."
"Dragon God..." Lu Wenwu whispered, "Does It... really exist?"
"Of course!" Isidro replied affirmatively, "Once you’re on Dragon Island and return to the Ancestral Dragon Nest, you’ll understand."
"I see."
Lu Wenwu nodded slightly, a faint smile appeared on the corner of his mouth.
Just not sure if this Dragon God’s purity... is high?
