Chapter 564: Chapter 342: Leaving the Yanhuang Federation First War Fortress; Principal Tang Weihua’s Welcome and Scholarship
"As a reward for your willingness to give a speech to your classmates and the underclassmen, you may also select any Five-star Unrivaled Quality Divine Domain Card from the school’s treasury. So, are you satisfied with this compensation?"
Zhang Yi and Hong Tianyi exchanged a look, then both nodded and said in unison, "We are very satisfied!"
"Excellent!" Principal Tang Weihua said. "I hope you can bring even greater inspiration to your classmates and the underclassmen, and ignite their passion! This isn’t just a transaction. It’s also an act of friendship toward your peers and a way to look out for the underclassmen."
Zhang Yi nodded. It was true.
Zhang Yi and Hong Tianyi had already received invitations to the Tianya Academy Central Campus. After summer vacation, they would be heading to the most prestigious academy in the entire Yanhuang Federation. Meanwhile, their former classmates—those in their original class and grade—were just preparing to enter their third year of high school. Facing the immense pressure of that year-long ordeal, they needed encouragement and motivation more than ever.
Having passed all the assessments of the University Alliance Training Camp and interacted with talented students from across the Blue Star Federation, Zhang Yi and Hong Tianyi were, without a doubt, the perfect candidates to give a speech that could ignite the passion of their peers. This was also why Principal Tang Weihua was willing to pay such a high price for just a single speech.
As long as their speech inspired some students, and if a few from that group managed to get into one of the Yanhuang Federation’s top academies, Principal Tang Weihua’s investment would be well worth it. After all, the school’s annual resource allocation was based on its university matriculation rate. Students admitted to the Yanhuang Federation’s top academies would bring in more resources for the school’s budget the following year.
Thanks to Zhang Yi and Hong Tianyi, the principal no longer needed to worry about next year’s school budget or student recruitment for the second half of the year. But as the principal of Golden City No.1 Middle School, Tang Weihua had to look at the school’s future with a long-term perspective.
Once the deal was settled, Principal Tang Weihua shared another piece of good news. "In addition to the scholarship from your alma mater, the Municipal and Provincial Education Bureaus will also be awarding you scholarships. However, unlike me, they have to go through multiple layers of approval, so you’ll probably have to wait until next week to receive them. If you two don’t mind, I can arrange for their representatives to present the scholarships when you come to the school for your speech. That way, you won’t have to make another trip."
Having just returned to Golden City that day, Zhang Yi and Hong Tianyi hadn’t expected this at all. Hearing the principal’s words and thoughtful arrangements, they felt a surge of gratitude. "Thank you for being so thoughtful with the arrangements, Principal," they said sincerely.
"It’s no trouble at all; it was easy enough to arrange," the principal waved his hand. "Besides, you two are already distinguished alumni of our Golden City No.1 Middle School. Helping out a little is no problem at all."
Principal Tang Weihua then changed the subject. "So, about selecting the Five-star Divine Domain Card—do you want to do that today, or wait until you come back for your speech?"
Considering he had just returned to Golden City, and that during the University Alliance Training Camp’s assessment period, Zhang Yi had gone half a year without any proper rest. Even during the few days of rest between each round of assessments, he had spent most of his time either gathering intelligence on other participants to prepare for the coming trials or entering his Divine Realm to guide his Clan’s development. Therefore, now that he was back in Golden City, Zhang Yi felt he desperately needed a long vacation.
In fact, it wasn’t just Zhang Yi; Hong Tianyi felt the same way upon returning to the city.
So, in response to the principal’s question, Zhang Yi thought for a moment before speaking. "Principal, I haven’t decided what type of Divine Domain Card I need yet. Could I collect this reward on the day of the speech, along with the compensation?"
"Of course," Principal Tang Weihua readily agreed. "The school’s treasury is always open to you both."
Seeing this, Hong Tianyi also chose to postpone. "I’ll wait until next week to choose, too."
After their conversation ended, Principal Tang Weihua personally walked Zhang Yi and Hong Tianyi to the school gate.
