Chapter 816: Chapter 548: Special Envoy "Sun" Inspects the Duchy
A hint of awkwardness filled the air.
Next to Silver Moon Blade’s towering, mountain-like body, the spatial rift—only a few meters high—looked like an inconspicuous toothpick.
"YOWL!"
Coal Ball’s competitive spirit flared up. It whipped its head around as its tiny black cat body swelled once more. The deep, eerie glow around it intensified several times over, and the Power of Space gathered frantically!
HUMMMM!
The surrounding space began to vibrate and distort violently. The tiny rift was forcibly stretched open at a visible rate. Ten meters, twenty meters, fifty meters...
The edges of the rift became extremely unstable. Black spatial turbulence darted about like wildly dancing electric snakes, emitting a teeth-setting tearing sound.
Coal Ball’s tiny body began to tremble slightly; it had clearly reached its limit.
Silver Moon Blade quietly watched all of this. It didn’t show any impatience or contempt, merely observing calmly. But it was exactly this calmness that placed an invisible pressure on Coal Ball.
Finally, Coal Ball’s round eyes looked at the endless "Silver Mountain Range" beside it, then looked down at the spatial rift it had managed to stretch to a length of only a few dozen meters despite its best efforts. In the end, it looked pitifully at Raylo.
The last time Thunder Dragon Astra came to this world from the Black Stone Territory, it was only with Astra’s support that a sufficiently large spatial rift had been opened.
Raylo laughed heartily and gently turned the little cat’s head toward Moonlight.
"AWOOO..."
Coal Ball cried out to Moonlight, its voice full of frustration.
In response to its underling’s plea, Moonlight raised a small paw and gently rested it on Coal Ball’s furry head. The next moment, a surge of pure, vast silver Magic Power—like pristine spring water—flowed down its paw and poured into Coal Ball’s body.
Coal Ball felt an unimaginably massive Power surge in, instantly refilling its nearly depleted magic core. A soft silver light, like flowing Moonlight, silently blanketed Coal Ball’s body.
"AWOOO!"
Coal Ball’s spirits soared.
BOOM!
The forcibly stretched spatial rift was instantly torn wide open by an overwhelming Power! The former "rift" had now become a massive, stable spatial tear. The gigantic opening, over three hundred meters in diameter, had edges shimmering with a silver radiance. Its interior was a bottomless dark void, exuding stable and powerful spatial fluctuations.
The entire process took no more than a single breath.
Coal Ball stared blankly at the masterpiece before it, then turned its head to look at the big white cat beside it, whose paw was still resting on its head. Moonlight retracted its paw and licked its toe beans, looking completely unfazed.
"Well done." Raylo’s voice broke the silence as his gaze swept over Moonlight and Coal Ball.
"MROW!"
Sweeping away its previous dejection, Coal Ball let out a smug cry and affectionately rubbed its head against Moonlight. It then turned into a streak of black light, darted back onto Raylo’s shoulder, and sat down with its tail held high in the air.
"Let’s go home," Raylo said. He signaled Lightning to head into the massive spatial rift. Then, he turned back to look at the silent "Silver Mountain Range."
"Silver Moon Blade, welcome to the Black Stone Territory."
Silver Moon Blade didn’t speak, but simply responded to Raylo with its actions. Its massive body unfurled and, like a silver mountain range sliding into water, it silently merged into the spatial rift.
Only when its thousand-meter-long body had completely disappeared did Raylo finally ride Lightning and follow it inside, carrying Coal Ball in tow.
HUMMMM!
The spatial rift silently closed behind him. The sky above the Giant City-State returned to its usual tranquility, as if the sky-obscuring Giant Dragon had never appeared.
...
Black Stone City.
In the sky above the Lord’s Castle, space distorted, and a Silver Giant Dragon with a body over a thousand meters long poked out its majestic head.
In that instant, all of Black Stone City fell silent. The pedestrians bustling on the streets, the soldiers patrolling the city walls, the artisans busy in the workshops... Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked up in horror, gazing at the colossal figure in the sky.
They all wondered what that thing could possibly be. A primal fear, stemming from their very instinct for survival, gripped their hearts.
Fortunately, immediately afterward, the figures of Thunder Dragon Lightning and Lord Raylo also flew out of the spatial rift in the sky. The moment they saw the Lord, the panic that hadn’t yet had time to erupt in the city quickly dissipated like a popped balloon, replaced by shock and curiosity.
Raylo paid no mind to the commotion below. He leaped down from Lightning’s back, landing steadily in the plaza.
"Moonlight, Coal Ball, Lightning." Raylo looked at the three little guys. "Go keep Silver Moon Blade company and help it get familiar with our home."
The three felines meowed in unison, turning into three streaks of light as they darted onto Silver Moon Blade’s back.
Watching their retreating figures, Raylo turned around. Ed came up to greet him, the shock in his eyes yet to fade.
"My Lord."
"Ed, inform the kitchen to prepare a feast for tonight," Raylo said. "Our territory has welcomed an esteemed guest."
Ed jerked his head up, glanced at the gigantic figure in the sky, and swallowed hard. "Yes, my Lord. It’s just... the food for that guest..."
Ed wondered how much a thousand-meter-long Giant Dragon would eat, and how many meals all the livestock in the Black Stone Territory could even provide it.
"Bring out one of the Domain Level beasts from our inventory to serve as today’s main course."
Unlike the few little guys who only knew how to act cute, a Catastrophe Level Giant Dragon like Silver Moon Blade could hunt for itself on a daily basis; the Black Stone Territory wouldn’t need to provide it with daily food supplies.
