Genshin Impact : Eerie Teyvat

Chapter 603: Mavuika, the Pyro Archon

  • Next Chapter

Although Su Yuan, Aether, and Paimon had never seen the Pyro Archon’s true appearance before, nor did they know what she actually looked like…

Right now, they were all absolutely certain that the woman before them was none other than the Pyro Archon of Natlan, one of the Seven Archons of Teyvat — Mavuika!

“Hello, Lady Mavuika. I am the Traveler, Aether, and these are my companions, Paimon and Su Yuan.”

Aether gave a slight bow, greeting Mavuika:

“We did indeed come from a distant land, but we did not come here as simple travelers…”

“When we were at the Sacred Flame Arena, we learned from Katheryne of the Adventurers’ Guild that the Flowing Spring Tribe had come under attack from the Abyss. So we immediately hurried here to help…”

“But it seems the situation here has already been handled by you, Lady Mavuika!” Paimon added with a friendly smile.

“Haha, so you’re that famous Traveler. Your deeds precede you — I’ve heard plenty.”

Mavuika smiled back and said:

“I happened to be tuning up the motorcycle that Xilonen built for me, and I took it out for a ride. I just happened to pass by the Flowing Spring Tribe’s territory and noticed signs of Abyssal intrusion, so I took care of it.”

“Since the crisis is resolved, and I’m sure you have many things you’d like to discuss, let’s not return to the Sacred Flame Arena… We can talk right here in the Flowing Spring Tribe instead. And you can take a look around while you’re at it.”

“Mm-hmm! Yes please, thank you, Lady Mavuika!” Paimon nodded cheerfully.

“Actually, we were even planning to come here to meet Mualani!”

So, Su Yuan and the others followed Mavuika into the tribe, and entered a house…

The walls inside were covered in drawings of oceans and water, full of gentle blue tones that immediately eased the heart…

Before long, Mualani arrived, smiling brightly as she said:

“To think the guide herself has become so well-known that people come to seek me out as a friend — I’m so happy!”

Although Su Yuan felt reluctant to disturb that smile, information about the eerie threat had to be shared…

So, Su Yuan and Aether took turns explaining the existence of the Eerie beings, their dangers, and the hidden crisis behind them.

Upon hearing this, both Mavuika and Mualani realized the gravity of the situation.

Their smiles faded, and their brows tightened in concern…

“To think that on top of the Abyss, there is another evil in this world, called the Eerie…”

Mavuika let out a sigh, her voice tinged with weariness:

“Natlan has already sacrificed too much, just to fight against the Abyss. And now there is something else… what are we supposed to do…”

“Don’t worry too much, Mavuika! Su Yuan came to Teyvat specifically to fight the Eerie!”

Paimon said with confidence. “If we follow his lead, we’ll definitely be able to defeat them!”

“I know my power is limited… but I will do everything I can to fight them,” Su Yuan said with firm determination.

“Speaking of which—Mavuika, Mualani—do either of you have any idea what might trigger your Eerie states?” Aether asked.

Mualani thought for a moment, then spoke first:

“There are so many things I care about… I’m not sure.”

“I don’t like milk, so maybe if someone forces me to drink milk, I’d go eerie?”

“Or maybe if someone causes trouble in my water-supplies shop and breaks my ‘pride of the store,’ I’d get really angry and that would trigger it?”

“Or maybe… I really love hot springs. If I go too long without soaking in one, I feel uncomfortable all over. Could that be a precursor to eerie state…?”

“Sigh, you see? There are just too many possibilities. I truly don’t know which small thing could trigger my eerie state…” Mualani shrugged helplessly, her smile tinged with sadness.

“I’m the same. I care about too many things. I can’t tell at all what might trigger my eerie state,” Mavuika agreed with a gentle nod.

“So it really is like searching for a needle in the ocean…” Su Yuan exhaled, frustrated.

“In the end, we’ll need actual clues before we can identify your conditions.”

“In the meantime, just try to avoid doing things that would make you upset…”

“Oh, right!”

Su Yuan suddenly seemed to remember something.

He reached into his pocket and took out the ancient name tablet engraved with his own name, showing it to Mavuika.

“Mavuika, look at this.”

Mavuika’s eyes widened instantly, her voice filled with disbelief:

“This is… an Ancient Name?!”

“Su Yuan, why do you have an Ancient Name—and moreover, one that is engraved with your own name?!”

Seeing the Pyro Archon this shocked, Su Yuan realized that what he carried was no small matter.

But he also understood clearly:

If Ancient Names were this unique and important, then they could not simply be symbolic blessings.

There must be something far deeper behind them.

“Mavuika… So, can you tell me…”

“What is the true purpose of an Ancient Name?”

Mavuika fell silent for a moment.

Then she took a deep breath and began to speak:

“Very well. Natlan is now threatened not only by the Abyss, but also stalked by the eerie from the shadows.”

“The plan has already advanced to the point where it can no longer be concealed…”

“From here on, I will tell you everything — about the Ancient Names, and about myself.”

Then, Mavuika revealed her entire plan to save Natlan.

Five hundred years ago, Mavuika fought side by side with six great heroes.

The Ancient Names of those heroes were passed down through the generations.

Now, after five hundred years, the tribes have returned to life.

New heroes have inherited the Ancient Names of those six figures — and they will help Mavuika liberate the power that the first Pyro Archon, Xbalanque, once seized from the Ruler of Death, Ronova.

With that power, Natlan would stand against the Abyss.

This was Mavuika’s plan — the plan to save Natlan.
