Genetic Evolution: Mythic Tier from the Rock Monkey Gene
Chapter 123 - 117: Successfully Developed, Super Gigantification
Chapter 123: Chapter 117: Successfully Developed, Super Gigantification
"Those two..." Zhou Han hesitated, swallowing the rest of his sentence.
"Let’s just stay out of it," Su Qing said, shaking her head. Despite her words, she couldn’t help but feel a lingering sense of doubt.
Ji Zhixing was undoubtedly strong—at least in her eyes. But no matter how powerful he was, she still didn’t think he was a match for Xiao Mingyue. Judging solely from the days they had spent together in the Blood Beast Secret Realm, she knew Xiao Mingyue’s background had to be unimaginably prestigious. She wasn’t the only one who felt this way; Zhou Han and Tie Shan, standing beside her and watching the pair’s retreating figures, shared the exact same thought.
Meanwhile, Ji Zhixing and Xiao Mingyue had returned to the villa.
After changing her shoes, Xiao Mingyue sat on the sofa and looked at him. "How is it? Are you feeling the pressure?"
"It’s alright." Ji Zhixing sat down beside her. "With my current strength, even if I can’t develop the Super Gigantification ability, making it onto that twelve-person roster shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
"The only thing I’m not confident about is taking first place," he added after a brief pause. "But as I told you before, I should be able to unlock the Super Gigantification ability within the next couple of days."
"I believe you," Xiao Mingyue nodded, looking at him earnestly.
Two days later.
In the underground Gravity Cultivation Chamber.
Ji Zhixing stood in the center of the room, his eyes closed and both hands gripping the Nine-Tiered Tide Rod. The gravity had been dialed up to fifteen times the normal level. This immense pressure weighed down on him like a small mountain. His bones CREAKED, and his muscles trembled slightly, yet he remained as motionless as a statue.
"The Nine-Tiered Tide Rod..." he silently muttered the name of the staff technique in his heart.
Over ten days had passed since he exchanged for this weapon. He had practiced the technique every single day—using it in the Blood Beast Secret Realm, drilling it on the training grounds, and repeatedly analyzing it in the gravity room. Yet, he still hadn’t truly mastered it.
"The Nine-Tiered Tide Rod requires me to comprehend the continuous, wave-like force of the tides," he thought. "Before the first wave of power dissipates, the second wave must be unleashed, followed immediately by the third.
"However, that’s just the physical exertion of force. Beyond that, I need to channel my spiritual will into every single strike I make, and I have to make my spiritual will radiate fluctuations just like the tides."
He opened his eyes, a sharp gleam flashing in them. "Begin!"
Gripping the staff with both hands, he started to practice, executing the moves stance by stance.
Tide Rise.
The long rod thrust upward from below, bringing with it the low, rumbling sound of the tide. Under the fifteen-fold gravity, this strike was countless times heavier than usual, but he gritted his teeth and forced it out anyway.
Surging Waves.
The long rod swept horizontally, its wind mimicking a crashing wave. The oppressive gravity made his movements sluggish, but he didn’t stop.
Hidden Currents, Whirlpool, Roaring Tide, Sea Burial...
He practiced repeatedly, flowing from one stance to the next. Sweat rolled down his forehead, pulled by the intense gravity to smash against the floor with heavy SPLATS. His clothes were completely drenched, clinging tightly to his skin, but he remained completely oblivious.
At the same time, the energy from the Blood Crystal he had refined not long ago continuously surged into his Staff Soldier Stone Monkey gene aperture. Within the aperture, the phantom projection of the stone monkey wielding a long staff faintly radiated a weak light, as if undergoing a slow metamorphosis.
One time, two times, three times...
Ji Zhixing was completely immersed in his cultivation. He forgot that he was in the gravity room. He forgot about the outside world. He forgot about time. All he saw was the rod in his hands. All his mind held was the profound essence of the staff technique.
"The tides... wave after wave..." he pondered. "Before the power ends, the next wave is already born...
"My spiritual will must also be like the tides, endless and continuous..."
He swung the rod relentlessly, strike after strike. Each blow carried a slightly stronger tidal rhythm than the last.
Suddenly, his eyes lit up with a burning intensity. "This is it!"
He closed his eyes, feeling the flow of genetic source power within his body, the friction of the rod against the air, and that faint, almost imperceptible tidal rhythm. Then, he unleashed a strike.
For this strike, he no longer relied on the inherent guidance of the Nine-Tiered Tide Rod; instead, he completely depended on his own power to execute the technique.
BOOM!
The strike lashed out.
This time, as the rod tore through the air, the resulting sound was no longer a monotonous whistle. It was the endless roar of crashing waves, surging one after another, each swell cresting higher than the last. It felt as if it would never end.
He had mastered the Nine-Tiered Tide Rod!
An uncontrollable wave of ecstasy surged in Ji Zhixing’s heart.
"Furthermore..."
At the exact moment he mastered the Nine-Tiered Tide Rod, he felt the Staff Soldier Stone Monkey gene within him finally undergo its metamorphosis. He felt the phantom projection of the stone monkey inside him jolt violently.
This tremor was stronger than any previous one, as if something was breaking out of its cocoon. He quickly closed his eyes and sank his consciousness into his gene aperture. Inside, the phantom of the Staff Soldier Stone Monkey was blooming with a blinding light. Amidst the brilliance, its body slowly transformed, growing taller and much more imposing.
"Super Gigantification... I’ve achieved that too!"
The Gigantification ability had officially advanced to the Super Gigantification ability.
Four-star quality.
Ji Zhixing took a deep breath, suppressing the thrill in his heart.
