Chapter 122: Chapter 117: Successfully Developed, Super Gigantification

"Compared to my other abilities, upgrading my Gigantification to Hyper-gigantification is truly difficult," Ji Zhixing lamented to himself.

So much time had passed. He had continuously refined Blood Crystals, allowed his Staff Soldier Stone Monkey gene to absorb them, and repeatedly experienced the process of the Staff Soldier Stone Monkey executing Hyper-gigantification before finally gaining some insights. He was now certain he would soon unlock this ability.

"As long as it’s soon," Xiao Mingyue said, breathing a sigh of relief. "The selection tournament is about to start. The twelve people chosen during this tournament will all receive rewards from the school.

"If you can get first place, the rewards will be even richer. You could even apply for a rare natural treasure worth up to three million points from the school.

"If you can get that, we can exchange it for a lightning-attribute natural treasure. It might even allow your Five-Color Willow Mutant Tree gene to evolve early."

Ji Zhixing nodded. He knew his own strength. Having a dual-core gene point was indeed much stronger than ordinary people. However, both of his genes were still only at the second tier. Compared to the true geniuses of the elite class, it was hard to say who would win in a fight.

"But it’ll happen soon," he thought to himself. "Once I develop the Hyper-gigantification ability, my Staff Soldier Stone Monkey gene will quickly advance to the Ten-foot Stone Monkey gene.

"By then, combined with my tier-two Five-Color Willow Mutant Tree gene, I might not be completely unrivaled in the elite class, but I definitely won’t be far off."

"Anyway, let’s put that aside for now," Xiao Mingyue said, standing up. "Go wash up first, and then we’ll head to the cafeteria to eat. Su Qing just contacted me and suggested we all get together."

"Alright," Ji Zhixing nodded.

He walked into the bathroom and turned on the hot water, letting it wash over his body. The warm stream washed away his exhaustion and helped him relax.

"Hyper-gigantification... soon..." he thought.

Closing his eyes, the sensation of his recent cultivation session in the gravity room surfaced in his mind.

After showering, he changed into clean clothes and stepped out of the bathroom. Xiao Mingyue had already changed as well and was waiting for him in the living room.

"Let’s go."

The two left the villa together and walked toward the cafeteria.

The cafeteria was crowded. After grabbing their food, Ji Zhixing and Xiao Mingyue scanned the area with their trays in hand. They soon spotted Su Qing, Zhou Han, and Tie Shan sitting in a corner.

"Over here!" Su Qing waved at them.

The two walked over and sat down.

"Ji Zhixing, Mingyue," Su Qing said, looking at them. "Did you guys sign up for the school’s selection tournament this time?"

"We did." Ji Zhixing nodded. He had known about this in advance, so as soon as the school made the announcement, both he and Xiao Mingyue registered.

"You and Mingyue are both quite strong, so you might actually have a chance of being selected," Su Qing said, shaking her head. "But we have no hope."

Beside her, Zhou Han and Tie Shan wore similar expressions. While their strength wasn’t bad, that was only in comparison to ordinary Genetic Cultivators. Within the elite class, the three of them were merely average, hovering right around the middle of the pack.

"That’s Du Zhan from Class Three!" Zhou Han suddenly said, glancing into the distance. He spotted a tall, heavily built young man walking over with a tray.

Hearing this, Ji Zhixing and the others turned to look.

Du Zhan was a very famous figure in the elite class. He had fused with the tier-three Barbaric Bull Demon gene, excelled at using a giant hammer, and possessed formidable strength.

Standing a full 1.9 meters tall, he had broad shoulders and solid muscles. He wore a black tank top that exposed his thick, sturdy arms. His facial features were rugged, and there was a hint of arrogance between his brows. He was also a strong contender for the twelve spots in the selection tournament; many even claimed his strength ranked in the top three among all the participants.

As Du Zhan walked past them, he raised an eyebrow and came to a halt.

"Ji Zhixing?" he asked, looking down at Ji Zhixing with a faint smirk. "You must have signed up for the selection tournament too, right? What do you say? Interested in a little match when the time comes?

"I heard you have the Gigantification ability and possess immense strength. I love sparring with people who have great strength."

His tone sounded like an invitation, but the condescension in his voice was impossible to miss.

Ji Zhixing looked at Du Zhan, vaguely sensing the disdain in his gaze.

"Sure," Ji Zhixing replied, his tone calm.

He knew that after taking first place on the points leaderboard in the Blood Beast Secret Realm last time, many people had refused to accept it, attributing his success to pure luck. Du Zhan was likely one of those people.

But it didn’t matter. The selection tournament was starting in just a few days, and then he would be able to prove his true strength.

"Got some guts," Du Zhan chuckled. He carried his tray and walked away.

Some nearby students who had overheard their conversation immediately began whispering among themselves.

"Ji Zhixing and Du Zhan? This is going to be a good show."

"Who do you guys think is stronger?"

"Definitely Du Zhan. He fused with the tier-three Barbaric Bull Demon gene. His strength is absurdly high. Even though Ji Zhixing has two genes, they’re both tier-two. How can they compare?"

"Not necessarily. Ji Zhixing has a dual-core gene point. Combined, his two genes might not be any weaker than a tier-three."

"Two tier-twos are still tier-two. There’s still a gap between that and a true tier-three."

The majority of the students still favored Du Zhan.

Ji Zhixing ignored the surrounding chatter. After finishing his meal with the others, he and Xiao Mingyue headed back to their villa.

From a distance, Su Qing and the other two watched Ji Zhixing and Xiao Mingyue walk away together, their expressions somewhat peculiar.
