Chapter 2135: Daggers

Chapter 2135: Daggers

"Where is she?" Cassarae asked with a frown.

She expected to be greeted with the annoyance the moment they got here, but instead, Sylas had just taken a step and appeared in front of the Golden Battlefield. Of course, this was after they went through the mutated dungeon, something that Sylas made shockingly short work of.

She was busy checking out her husband and hadn't even noticed when they made it all the way through and entered the final challenge space.

"Even at this stage, she'll be a C-tier. It's a bit too much for you." Sylas said.

"Says you. I can still kick her ass so she knows her place."

"Yeah?" Sylas said with a smile.

"YES." Cassarae said. "Are you doubting me?!"

"No, of course not."

"Then tell her to bring her ass! Do you think this is a joke?!"

"Okay, if you say so." Sylas snapped his fingers and the world bent and warped.

It wasn't as easy for him to control this world as it would have been had it been a D-tier one, but the presence of Fathomless Rune Creation on a C-tier Mortal World was exceptional nonetheless. While he wasn't quite as untouchable, he was certainly close enough.

However, rather than the Duchess appearing, it was a red-skinned demon with a long, narrow, spade-tipped tail.

A Blazara.

The Blazara looked around in shock and confusion, and then his eyes sharpened when he saw Sylas and Cassarae.

"Defeat him and I'll summon her."

Cassarae gave Sylas a glare, but that didn't stop her sword from howling.

With a step, she closed the distance.

Sylas blinked, feeling like her entire presence had become that of a blade. Cassarae's Speed had been one of her weaker aspects, it was her raw Strength that was insane. But now, it seemed as though she had mutated her Sword Will into this odd form of telekinesis that literally cut across the air with her movements.

'… Fascinating…'

Sylas was taken aback for a moment. Every time he saw Cassarae, she seemed to surprise him in another way.

First was the mutation of her Will into Sword Will. It had tangibly changed the function of her Will such that it and her sword were one and the same, giving it a sharp edge Will shouldn't have had.

Sylas could replicate the sharpness, but it was far better for him to apply that effort to a Rune instead. Why try to do that when he could create a spatial rune that was 10x sharper on a whim?

But that was only because his Rune Mastery was truly broken. This path was completely different.

If he was correct, Cassarae was using a high level form of Will Manipulation as well, it was just that she wasn't a Rune Master, and the only sort of Will she could manipulate was Sword Will.

It was like she had become a Fathomless Rune Creator who only knew how to draw blade Runes.

'You can do this too?' Sylas' gaze flickered.

Cassarae sliced the resistance in the air itself, appearing before the Blazara so quickly it barely had the time to summon its pitchfork.

BANG.

Pitchfork and sword met.

The Blazara reacted quickly, twisting his wrist and trapping Cassarae's sword with a strong pull downward. Sure that he had pinned her sword, his tail snapped forward from behind him, piercing through the air like a howling arrow right for Cassarae's throat.

A sinister smile played on his lips.

Cassarae didn't fight against the pull of the Blazara's pitchfork. Instead, she allowed her sword to be pulled downward. It pierced into the ground and she leapt into the air.

BANG.

A huge crater formed in the air, the momentum of the blast stopping her sword from sliding into the ground and giving her extra lift.

She slipped her blade out from the forked prongs of the pitchfork, flipping in the air one final time until the soles of her feet faced the ground.

A crimson energy radiated out from her heels, rippling energy almost like the disturbed surface of a lake forming.

Crimson Guillotine.

She slashed down and it was like the world was split in two. As far as the eye could see, a trench sundered the land, and the Blazara was right in the middle of it all.

Cassarae landed on the ground with a hint of annoyance in her gaze. She tossed her sword into the air and it hovered after her without even a sheath to speak of.

"Is that good for you, my lord?" She said sarcastically.

Sylas blinked. "You are strong," he said after a long while.

Cassarae's annoyance vanished into a bright smile and she practically skipped over, giving Sylas a kiss on the lips.

Honestly, Sylas really didn't expect Cassarae to be capable of defeating a C-tier at Level 0. But while she was at Level 0, her Sword Will progressed almost like his Fathomless Rune Creation did.

So long as her sword continued to progress, she could use her blade to make up the gap her stats and body were missing, and it naturally amplified all the Skills and talents she had as well.

If the Sword Will tiers worked like the Fathomless Rune Creation tiers, then Cassarae was an E-tier Sword Creator, and she seemed well on her way to working toward replicating the same feat at the D-tier.

Was this the path the Executioner's Sword had prepared for her?

Sylas' gaze couldn't help but flicker, but then he relaxed. This was a good thing. The more powerful his wife was, the less he had to worry about other things.

"Stop distracting me," Cassarae said, pulling back. "Now summon the bitch, I have some words for her."

Sylas' lip quirked slightly. "Alright, if you say so."

He snapped his fingers again and the world warped. This time, the commotion was much larger, as though the presence coming was likewise far greater and heavier.

Cassarae's expression became serious, and then the Duchess appeared, her hair wet and her body draped in a silk gown she had just barely managed to put on in time before being ripped here.

Her nipples were practically staring daggers at them.
