Chapter 1410: The Whale [Bonus]
[Fuck you Chrono. I hope your next wet dream is about your grandmother]
Sylas exhaled a breath as the Whale faded. It still seemed to be roaring in his mind somewhere, but it had become background music.
The Whale Lineage was about as amazing as he expected. There was a good reason he was so fascinated by it the moment he had seen Erethea.
The First Layer of the Armor was simple in function. It was highly absorbent. Unlike the Scorpion Warlord Armor, which was able to disperse the power of an acute attack over a large area, the Whale Warlord Armor was a step beyond that.
It was like every shingle of the Armor was an active black hole. Not only were they connected like the Scorpion Warlord Armor, but they were also akin to fathomless abysses.
Usually, a Warlord Armor would give a uniform power-up across all Physical stats. But for the Warlord, the boost to Constitution was double that of the others. It was that exaggerated.
The Second Layer of the Whale Warlord Armor came with a strong and controllable gravitational pull. However, this wasn’t easy to control.
The silver tail and fin of the transformation were the core of this ability. Controlling the fluidity of these strands and using them to influence the Runes in the atmosphere was the key.
But doing this required exceptionally fine telekinetic control, not to mention Mental stats high enough to control something so complex in the middle of battle.
However, that complexity only grew when the Third Layer was incorporated.
The Third Layer of the Whale Warlord Armor could swallow Aether. This was the main ability of the Whale Warlords.
This ability was mostly used defensively. Not only did physical attacks feel like they were sinking into a black hole, but the Aether that formed them was likewise swallowed into a bottomless pit.
It could be said that the Whale Warlord Lineage were the ultimate defensive masters, especially when they had enough control to convert the Aether they swallowed into their own strength.
Their stamina and defense were unmatched.
A fantastic Lineage, to be sure.
One that was even more difficult to learn on top of that.
Sylas snapped his fingers and the Whale Warlord Armor snapped into being over his body.
The gorgeous silvery-blue armor took shape, a head with the deep, curved lines of a blue whale’s jaw snapping over his face.
To his back, silky fins and tails took shape in streams of rainbow. They glided to the floor like a cape, but with a thought, they were pulled into Sylas’ control, sparkling into being and turning into a rainbow domain.
BOOM!
The gravity in the region doubled.
With a snap of his fingers, Sylas dismissed it, shaking his head.
He had drawn the Armor to the pinnacle of Vitality Mastery in an instant—84%. But that wasn’t good enough.
He knew what he was missing. He hadn’t truly grasped the Will of the Whale.
Sylas stood in silence for a long while, his eyes closed as he recalled it all.
Peace.
That was the word that seemed to embody the Whale the most.
A calm, gentle creature. Even with such a large body, it didn’t go out of its way to kill, taking only what it needed and nothing more.
However, if one stepped into its territory, its power was undeniable. It would defend down to its last breath, and most often, things would never make it so far because it was simply too strong.
This was the power of the Whale, and often, its main deterrent was its presence alone. It didn’t need to fight because everyone knew… they didn’t stand a chance against the largest creature there was.
BOOM.
Sylas’ eyes blazed with a blue color, the Whale Warlord Armor taking shape once more.
87%…
92%…
96%…
98%…
99%…
Sylas’ hair danced and he activated Semi-Fusion.
There was one more piece of the Whale’s secret.
Hidden in the depths of the water, where its mystery was the deepest and most men never dared to step for fear of the darkness, it thrived. It feared neither sharks nor colossal squids, it feared not man nor the skies above its head.
It could sink into the depravity of the darkness and yet soar upward to breathe the air man thought so unique.
It could suppress itself, needing just a single gulp of wind to live by for days at a time. That self-control, that essence of calm, that spring of water’s depth… That was what made it such a powerful creature.
The power to be a predator and yet the self-control not to be.

An arrogance hidden deep within its bones that came from its own security.
BOOM.
100%.
The Whale Gene roared to life, hovering in the air before Sylas.
Sylas’ eyes flashed with a depth of understanding, and just the slightest hint of a smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
Just now, the Semi-Fusion he had used was with Nosphaleen. As for what he had taken, it was [Siren’s Call], Nosphaleen’s water control Gene Talent.
Sylas knew now what the Whale Emperor Armor was missing. It was that control over water.
But for now, Sylas wouldn’t complete it. This would be enough for now.
He ended Semi-Fusion and summoned Nosphaleen.
“Do it,” he said with a nod.
With a thought, Sylas activated Reverse Fusion and insights flooded Nosphaleen’s mind.
Her brain ached for a moment and she bent forward, grabbing onto her head, but Sylas didn’t stop.
Nosphaleen’s stats, even though she was Level 50 now, were far too weak. He needed to open her up a bit more, outfitting her with a larger foundation to build from.
Luckily, he had Vipermancy, and he knew exactly how to do this.
With Reverse Fusion, even sharing his Titles was possible with his Contracts.
Right now, Nosphaleen was feeling the power of her Mental increasing by +1000%. However, this would only be temporary. It wasn’t as though he could leave Reverse Fusion active the entire time.
That was why that wasn’t his plan.
