Emberslag chulked before saying, “You need to get yourself a big muscular summon to hold them down while you do it.”

“Eww, that’s nasty. You know almost all warlock summons are ugly and strange demonic creatures,” Shelur replied before asking. “And for a virgin, you have one filthy mind.”

“Just because I’m a virgin doesn’t mean I can’t fantasise; anyone that tells you otherwise is a liar,” Emberslag replied before opening the door again while whispering. “Let’s go.”

The five of them snuck into the room before separating and picking their own individual target, after which Emberslag held up one hand and began lowering fingers as a countdown and on zero they all launched their attacks.

Five super critical hits hit six of the targets as Emberslags' chain lightning jumped to four other targets, including the one none of them had targeted before petering out; unfortunately, only the first strike counted as a supercritical, however.

"GAHHHHHH!" The group of six bandits woke up yelling and shouting in pain before looking around and spotting the intruders, causing them all to quickly reach for their weapons while Elred yelled. "ATTACKING A MAN WHILE HE IS ASLEEP, HAVE YOU NO SHAME?"

“A bandit asking us about shame?” Shelur asked in amusement as she quickly retreated back next to John before casting, “Black Tentacles.”

Seeing that the enemies had been slowed by her attack, Black Dragoon took the opportunity to quickly reposition herself before releasing a torrent of flames from her mouth, causing Embersalg to yell in a panic, “VULXIS, STOP.”

She was too late, however, as the breath attack swept over the bandits, damaging them all before heading directly towards John and Shelur. In her haste, Black Dragoon had not positioned herself correctly, causing the pair to be just within her attack angle.

“Shit!” Shelur said in panic a moment before a figure appeared before her, blocking her view of the incoming breath attack and causing her, for some reason, to think, {How is a human's back so broad?}

John had jumped in front of Shelur with his shield raised just before the breath attack hit his shield and swept around them.

“JOHN!” Mel screamed in panic as she saw the flames wash over him, while John himself cursed, {Fuck, that’s hot.}, as notifications began to go off.

“I’m fine, just a little singed,” John replied before glancing back and asking. “You okay?”

“What?” Shelur asked in surprise before nodding and saying, “Yeah, I’m fine; it didn’t harm me.”

Mel sighed in relief before turning on Black Dragoon and asking angrily, “What the hell was that?”

Black Dragoon was about to apologise when Emberslag, who had a relieved look on her face, ordered, “Save it for later; we need to clear these bastards up first.”

Hedgal laughed before saying, “You really think you can beat us when your idiot draconian teammate is helping us? Fat chance.”

“Chain Lightning, Black Tentacles,” Emberslag and Shelur called out as they used their AOE attacks on the remaining five enemies. Black Dragoon leapt between the enemies, stabbing them with her spear while wearing a look of embarrassment and shame as Mel cast “Healing Spirit” repeatedly as a means to recover John’s HP, only to discover that he really was fine and hadn’t been lying.

John himself barely noticed as he looked at the notification that had just appeared in his vision.

John noticed that Mel’s cheeks grew slightly warm upon hearing Emberslag's chastising, but put the thought aside as he aimed at Galan before casting, “Temporal Blast.”

Mel smirked while saying, “Still lagging behind; I just hit eight.” However, her smile faded as she turned on Black Dragoon again, asking angrily. “What was that?”

Black Dragoon didn’t look away but instead stared at John with an apologetic look while saying, “I’m sorry, I messed up.”

“Ya think,” Mel scoffed while Shelur frowned and said. “Hey, calm down, mistakes happen. I could have been hit by that attack just as much as Vincarna, but you don’t see either of us berating her.”

Mel was about to reply when John said, “Shelur’s right, Mel. While I do appreciate that you're looking out for me, honestly, I should be thanking Black Dragoon rather than berating her.”

“Huh?” Mel asked as all the women gave him looks of confusion while Black Dragoon asked. “What?”

“Blocking your attack allowed me to unlock the hidden skill in my shield,” John replied, causing their looks to grow even more confused as Emberslag asked. “Your shield has a hidden skill?”

“Had,” John corrected before saying, “Perhaps it would be better to show you.”

After he finished speaking, he pointed Bahamut’s Aegis towards the far wall, away from the others, before saying, “Draconian Empress’s Breath.”

As they heard what he said, Emberslag, Shelur and Black Dragoon all wore looks of surprise before the former two looked at the latter. Mel, on the other hand, raised an eyebrow before they all saw the mouth section of the rough-looking dragon head open and spew out black flames identical to Black Dragoon's.

“But how?” Black Dragoon asked in shock as they all stared at the section of wall the flames had impacted, which was not charred black.

“Those were draconian flames, right?” Shelur asked. “But how? They're supposed to be exclusive to their race.”

Emberslag shook her head before looking at John and saying, “Perhaps we should ask him.”
