Gene Fusion System: Crime Hunter
Chapter 1416: An Inevitable Outburst? A Sense of Loss
In Luo Fei’s view, the reason so many people end up misunderstanding each other
and even start harboring resentment
and the conflicts between them can never really be eased
actually all comes down to their inability to truly understand one another.
The two sides haven’t achieved enough effective communication.
“Some conflicts are bound to erupt sooner or later. If people can start talking earlier, maybe they can still stop the loss in time.”
Luo Fei’s analysis
made the people beside him immediately look at him in a new light.
“So that’s how it is.”
“Mr. Luo’s words really make sense. Maybe if Chen Baojun and Liu Dechun could sit down and talk, the conflict between them might just resolve itself.”
Seeing that everyone seemed like they wanted to say more but held back,
Luo Fei merely remained noncommittal.
“You’re right.”
Ring ring ring!
Just as Luo Fei and the others were talking,
Luo Fei’s phone rang.
He picked it up.
On the other end, he immediately heard Tang Siqi’s somewhat agitated voice.
“Mr. Luo, just now I got a call. Someone said they wanted to call the police and find you, but couldn’t. And it sounds like he’s run into a very tricky case.”
“Is that so? Send me the caller’s information and the report address. Once I get back into the city, I’ll contact them.”
“Okay, Mr. Luo.”
Once the call ended,
Luo Fei went back to the city together with Li Yu and the others.
But just as he returned to the sub‑bureau,
Luo Fei saw that at some point, Guan Songhu had already been waiting there.
“Mr. Luo, this time you led the team and solved the case. You really helped us a lot.”
“The higher‑ups are especially pleased and have been wanting to find a chance to hold a commendation meeting for you. But you never agree to show up in person. That’s really giving us a bit of a headache.”
Seeing that the other man seemed a little embarrassed,
and clearly felt somewhat awkward saying this,
Luo Fei just smiled.
“Director Guan, didn’t I say before, things like fame and honors aren’t what I care about. So when I’m investigating a case, I naturally won’t spend too much energy on that sort of thing.”
Luo Fei was very calm,
his expression indifferent.
And Guan Songhu nodded repeatedly.
“Mr. Luo is right. Still, even if you don’t attend the celebration banquet, you have to accept the bonus and the commendation.”
“Also, quite a few police stations have been hoping you could go over in person and guide their work. I just don’t know if you have the time for that?”
At this point, Guan Songhu sounded a little hesitant.
It was obvious he hoped Luo Fei could pass on his investigation techniques to more people.
Noticing his awkwardness,
Luo Fei quickly waved his hand.
“Director Guan, how about this: in a bit I’ll ask a couple of our serious crime unit inspectors if they’re free, and have them go later on to pass on some knowledge to the students.”
“After all, you know how busy we are right now, and we’ve still got active cases to work. We can’t always spare time for these activities.”
And in Luo Fei’s view,
this matter would be best handed to Lan Mengzhou.
After all, when it comes to fraud‑related knowledge, she knows more than enough.
And most importantly, for ordinary people,
most criminal cases are things they’ll never encounter in their whole lives.
If he took the initiative to tell them about all this,
it might actually cause some of them to develop unhealthy ideas and could even lead to copycat crimes.
“Mr. Luo, we just received a report. Someone seems to have found a corpse in a well. And based on the physical features described, the person appears to be one of the fugitives we were previously tracking.”
“I understand. Then I’ll trouble you to set up an investigation team to go over and look into it.”
As he said this,
Luo Fei also told Guan Songhu,
“Director Guan, since you happen to be here today, there’s something I’ve been meaning to ask. Have you considered recruiting more personnel for us to handle clerical work? And we also need to set up a dedicated unit for coordinating with the courts.”
“Because our manpower really is a bit stretched.”
Luo Fei’s request quickly got the other man’s agreement.
“Of course that’s no problem, Mr. Luo. Don’t worry, leave this to me.”
“Actually, there’s already a group of people who planned to come to your unit. It’s just that they haven’t yet passed the review and assessment, so we haven’t let them join…”
Hearing this, Luo Fei couldn’t help being surprised.
“That’s not right, Director Guan, there’s actually such a thing and I hadn’t heard about it.”
Guan Songhu gave a slight smile.
“Mr. Luo, you may not know.”
“Quite a few people have eagerly applied to join the serious crime unit. But Secretary Wang and I both felt everyone should calm down a bit. And Secretary Wang also said that many of them are complete newcomers with no work experience, they just had relatively good grades in police college.”
“So we decided to have them do a few months of internship training in other police stations first, and then see whether they can join the serious crime unit. You could call it selecting the best from among them.”
What Guan Songhu said caught Luo Fei a little off guard.
“Is that so? Then it sounds like this is actually a good thing. Director Guan, you’ve really thought this through. When it comes to screening people, I feel more at ease leaving it to you.”
Seeing the admiration in Luo Fei’s eyes,
his face full of approval,
Guan Songhu actually felt a bit embarrassed.
“Mr. Luo, you flatter me. I’ve just been a bit more thorough in my thinking. And for most people, I’m afraid they still won’t be able to keep up with your pace.”
