85 Skartoom, The Legion Commander
Yuan Chunhua’s aura continued to rise up and she was ready to slash Jiang Ming into pieces if he didn’t give her a good explanation.
She could forgive him for taking some advantage of her. After all, she knew herself as a seductive and beautiful woman, and it’s a given to have men flocking toward her.
However, she would not forgive Jiang Ming if he had colluded with an abyssal demon and caused a calamity-class demon to arrive in the Northern Continent.
That alone is enough to sentence him and his entire generation to death.
“Do you have an explanation for this?” Yuan Chunhua asked in a solemn tone.
“Well, I look sus no matter how I’ll explain it, so why don’t you just wait like 20 minutes and spectate my action.” Jiang Ming said with his hands raised up.
Yuan Chunhua narrowed her eyes.
It was still a bit far-fetched to determine that Jiang Ming was cahooting with the demon.
However, she couldn’t understand why he would allow such a calamity from being summoned.
Thus, a stalemate was created and Jiang Ming didn’t want to make any unnecessary movement lest it might cause Yuan Chunhua to strike him.
‘Let’s stall a bit longer… that damn Batron is about to finish the summoning.’ Jiang Ming thought..
Of course, Yuan Chunhua also realized his thought process, but she just couldn’t overcome her will to strike him.
After all, she had been teaching him personally the longest and had high hopes for him.
Her hand began wavering as time slowly passed by.
Just when the atmosphere continued to be tense, the Batron suddenly made an outcry.
“Kekeke, the ceremony has ended.”
Pzzt
Lightning flashed across the cave as a large star appeared beneath the ground.
Debris started falling down from the ceiling when the cave started trembling rapidly.
“Watch out,” Jiang Ming called out.
With a swift movement, he hurriedly held Yuan Chunhua by the waist and stepped backward, successfully avoiding the large debris that was about to land on Yuan Chunhua’s position.
Meanwhile, Yuan Chunhua tried to struggle away from Jiang Ming but was unable to when he gripped tightly on her.
“Let go of me,” Yuan Chunhua shouted aloud.
“Just stay still for a minute, Instructor Yuan Chunhua. I can’t guarantee your safety if you keep running amok.”
“Hmph, I can take care of myself and do not need to rely on you.”
Afterward, Yuan Chunhua pushed Jiang Ming aside and regained her balance.
Her hand was still holding onto the sword hilt, indicating she was still ready to fight Jiang Ming.
Alas, the next moment, the cave started collapsing as a large mighty being was appearing within the star that the Batron had created.
Two large demonic horns could be seen on its forehead as darkness shrouded around the being.
Yuan Chunhua’s eyes were wide open as she found it difficult to breathe with such tremendous pressure that was laid upon the area.
In front of the demonic being who had a cultivation base of a Spiritual Grandmaster, she was nothing more than an ant that could be squashed at any time.
“Haaa Haaa,” She panted heavily, finding it a struggle to gasp for air.
“Behold, the Northern Continent can drown into ruins as the Legion Commander, Skartoom arrives!” Batron laughed wickedly as his body started fading away.
Batron was turning into dust each second with the demonic Skartoom appearing.
That was the so-called blood ceremony, where the summoner used its own life to summon another powerful being to this world.
Jiang Ming wanted to stay and witness the birth of Skartoom.
However, when he noticed the painful expression of Yuan Chunhua, he knew he could only wait outside until the ceremony was over. Otherwise, Yuan Chunhua would perish alongside the Batron.
Yuan Chunhua had long stumbled on the ground, coughing numerous times.
Seeing her condition drastically turning bad, Jiang Ming lowered himself for a bit and wrapped his arms around her leg and neck.
With a lift, Jiang Ming carried Yuan Chunhua.
“Hold on a bit, everything will be fine,” Jiang Ming whispered softly.
Yuan Chunhua’s eyes were closing up and down, seemingly losing consciousness.
Her head leaned onto his chest, and Jiang Ming calmly opened the Game Lord’s Cultivation System.
‘If this is the same as Cultivation Omega or even better, then it should have that feature.’ He thought.
Glancing around the system prompt for a few seconds, Jiang Ming managed to find it.
<Quick Escape>
<Description: A feature that allowed the player to leave an enclosed environment in an instant>
<Cooldown: 5 minutes>
–
“Thank heaven that this great feature is still here,” Jiang Ming breathed a sigh of relief.
Without hesitation, Jiang Ming quickly used [Quick Escape] to leave the hidden cave.
Ding!
<Player Jiang Ming had activated Quick Escape>
<Player Jiang Ming will now be transported outside the entrance>
–
Since Jiang Ming was carrying Yuan Chunhua and having skin contact, the GLCS directly transported the two of them toward the entrance.
Sometime later, Jiang Ming reappeared at the entrance of the hidden cave as he quickly placed Yuan Chunhua down carefully.
After that, he checked on her pulse and realized her condition was worsening.
Her face was extremely pale, most likely because of the tremendous pressure that she had received from Skartoom.
Jiang Ming held a calm composure as he scanned through his inventory, looking for a suitable pill for Yuan Chunhua to consume.
“This pill will do the trick…” he muttered and quickly fed a red-colored pill to Yuan Chunhua.
As soon as Yuan Chunhua consumed the pill, her face started to return to normal but remained unconscious.
Suddenly, a fierce wind blew past Jiang Ming when he finished placing Yuan Chunhua in a safe spot.
“What did you do this time to cause such a loud ruckus?” Qi Shan elegantly revealed herself and smiled amusingly at Jiang Ming.
“Nothing much, just letting a Legion Commander appear into this world so I can reap some rewards. It’s still better than a mass murderer.”
