147 Quotas Reward
Everyone in the scene stayed silent as they watched Jiang Ming casually refining some pill. No one dared to utter any sound since they knew alchemists needed to be in a silent and calm scenery to refine pills.
Alas, what they didn’t know was the fact that Jiang Ming was putting up a facade. The pill he was refining had nothing to do with the recovery of Di Qiaowei.
It was just that he needed to show these people his miraculous abilities.
‘Hmm, I think I wasted enough time. The poison I placed earlier on his body should have seeped deep into his bone marrow by now.’ Jiang Ming predicted.
After he finished calculating all the steps in his grand scheme, Jiang Ming opened the lid of the cauldron and revealed a dazzling pill to everyone.
The moment the pill was revealed, everyone in the crowd had no more doubts about his alchemy skills. With their discerning eyes, they could detect the pill was freshly made.
Not even Di Tianluo could find a spot to nitpick. ‘This brat is really hiding a lot of his abilities. Damn it.’.
Di Tianluo was sure that the other clans were laughing at this misfortune. Not only had he offended such a mysterious expert, but he had also lost a chance on befriending an alchemist on par with Alchemist Ren.
‘Once we enter the ancient ruin, our Di Clan must eliminate this Jing and his companion. Otherwise, we’re going to have an unknown enemy targeting us in the shadows.’ Di Tianluo thought. He would not allow any potential danger to lurk around, so he would do everything in his power to kill Jing.
Meanwhile, Jiang Ming didn’t need to know his thought process as he fed the pill to Di Qiaowei.
The moment Di Qiaowei consumed the pill, Jiang Ming hurriedly retracted his sword force. Added to the fact that no one here had comprehended sword force, the crowd had not been able to detect his sneaky action except for one person.
‘Jiang Ming, you are really shrewd. Impaling his internal organs with your sword force and fooling everyone in the scene.’ Yang Liqin exclaimed inwardly.
Although she had managed to figure out his scheme, she was extremely impressed by his method and shrewdness. Not even she could have thought that one can manipulate their sword force to falsify a crippling injury.
As the atmosphere turned intense, everyone was waiting for a response from Di Qiaowei.
A few minutes had passed, and there was still no sign of him waking up. At this point, Di Tianluo’s patience was running thin as he readily circulated some of his spiritual qi, preparing to attack Jiang Ming.
Just when he was about to make a move, a loud groan echoed. Di Qiaowei coughed up a mouthful of blood as he slowly opened his eyes.
“W-Where am I?” He stutteringly said.
“Qiaowei, are you alright?” The moment he woke up, Di Tianluo retracted his spiritual qi as he rushed toward him. After that, he checked on his pulse and his face instantly turned ashen white.
“M-Meridians are fixed… How is this possible?” Di Tianluo uttered in shock as his lips could be seen trembling rapidly.
“What the hell did I just witness? How could a broken meridian be healed? Doesn’t that mean our injured clansmen could become cultivators again?”
“This is big news… our Northern Continent is going to change.”
“Cultivator Jing is going to become prominent within a few days if he were to cure more people.”
The crowd had their eyes practically gleaming at Jiang Ming, clearly hoping that he would visit their clan. That way, they could shamelessly ask him to cure the broken meridians of their clansmen.
Of course, everyone knew what each other was thinking, but they agreed on one thing at this moment. And that was Jiang Ming must be protected at all costs.
Such a valuable talented individual cannot be met with harm since it was crucial for their future success.
Di Tianluo also sensed something was wrong when he finished checking up on Di Qiaowei.
‘This Jing is indeed a fearsome opponent. No wonder why he was willing to cure my nephew without payment.’ Di Tianluo thought. Now everyone would target his Di Clan if they were to try to do something against Jiang Ming.
‘Heh, make a move on me now, Di Tianluo. Come on, I fucking dare you.’ Jiang Ming sneered inwardly. It was at this moment that he had truly wished he didn’t have his mask on. After all, his current facial expression should be enough to make Di Tianluo vomit blood in anger.
“Since Di Tianluo admitted himself that Di Qiaowei is cured, then the previous bet could be considered my win.” Jiang Ming said cheekily.
Di Tianluo gnashed his teeth in anger. He truly wanted to bash the crap out of Jiang Ming, but he managed to control his emotion and calmed down.
He took a deep breath and asked calmly, “What do you want as a reward? Our Di Clan has nothing else, but we have a lot of money. Just name your price and we can afford it.”
“Oh please, we’re all cultivators here. Besides, didn’t I say I live in the mountains with my Master? So why would I need mortal wealth?” Jiang Ming shrugged his shoulders.
He proceeded to walk back to Yang Liqin’s side and wrapped his hand around her waist.
“This time, I came down the mountain with my junior sister here to experience the outside world. While traveling, we heard about this sudden ancient ruin and decided to enter it for fun.”
“What are you trying to imply here?” Di Tianluo narrowed his eyes suspiciously.
“Aiyah, I thought you were a clever person… Was I mistaken?” Jiang Ming rubbed his chin slightly.
“Junior sister, can you kindly tell him what I want for the bet?”
The junior sister naturally referred to Yang Liqin. Although she didn’t know why he purposely made himself the older one, she’ll gladly comply with his wish and follow along with his plan.
She stepped forward and in a melodious tone, extended her hand out and said, “My senior wants two quotas from the Di Clan as the reward for winning the bet.”
