Chapter 389: Crash and Burn

  • Next Chapter

Just then, the Riot Suppressor charged again like a wild beast.

Long Ming refused to accept this. His curved blades instantly morphed into claws.

He channeled all the Power within him, a blood-red aura erupting from his entire body as he charged the Riot Suppressor head-on like an enraged Fierce Beast.

"Got guts!"

Seeing Long Ming charge him head-on, the Riot Suppressor revealed a savage grin and sent his right fist tearing through the air.

Long Ming clenched his right claw into a fist and threw a punch with all his might.

Their fists collided.

Long Ming clearly saw the metal gauntlet covering the Riot Suppressor's fist shatter, revealing the flesh-and-blood fist underneath.

But in the next moment,

Long Ming's fist felt like it had slammed into something indestructible. Cracks spread through the bones in his hand, and he staggered backward.

The Riot Suppressor then lunged forward, grabbing Long Ming by the neck with his bare hand and ramming him toward the buildings ahead.

RUMBLE!

One metal skyscraper after another was smashed to rubble.

Then, the Riot Suppressor seized Long Ming and viciously slammed him into the ground.

BAM!

The ground instantly shattered.

Long Ming coughed up a mouthful of blood. He clawed at the hand crushing his neck, trying to pry it open, but it wouldn't budge.

Seeing Long Ming getting utterly crushed, Hilic grew anxious.

"Are you useless? You can't even beat a Third Generation Mechanical God?"

"Bullshit! This guy's Power is stronger than a fourth-gen's."

"If you can't handle it, let me take over!"

"Fine, you do it!"

Long Ming was also getting pissed.

"Useless fool! Let me show you my Power! Give me control!"

Hilic immediately began to take control of Long Ming's body.

Long Ming didn't resist, allowing Hilic to take over.

Instantly, Long Ming's eyes turned crimson, and a terrifying blood-red aura erupted from his body, blasting the Riot Suppressor away.

The Riot Suppressor quickly stabilized himself, inwardly shocked. He cracked his neck and looked at Long Ming.

"A little interesting. You took that much damage and can still pull off a burst of power."

"You bastard!"

Hilic stomped the ground and charged straight at the Riot Suppressor, swiping with his claw.

But the Riot Suppressor simply raised his left hand, catching Hilic's attack bare-handed, his body not moving an inch.

Hilic was stunned.

The Riot Suppressor kicked Hilic square in the chest.

Hilic shot back like a cannonball, smashing through one building after another before crashing to the ground.

"Impossible! Absolutely impossible!"

Hilic climbed to his feet, his face a mask of disbelief.

'And you call that fighting? That was even worse, wasn't it?'

Long Ming sarcastically jabbed at Hilic.

Just then, the Riot Suppressor casually strolled over.

"Had enough?"

"You insect!"

Enraged, Hilic charged again, swiping with his sharp claws.

The Riot Suppressor dodged with a simple sway, then grabbed Long Ming's arm, spun him 360 degrees, and brutally smashed him into the ground.

BAM—

The entire ground shattered on impact, countless cracks spreading in all directions.

The Riot Suppressor then grabbed Long Ming, swung him to the left and slammed him into the ground, then to the right, repeating the motion several times before violently flinging him away.

CRASH—

Long Ming smashed through five consecutive buildings before crashing heavily to the ground.

The beating was enough to force Hilic back inside Long Ming's body.

As soon as Long Ming regained control of his body, he scrambled to his feet and took off running.

The fight had been beaten right out of him.

Just when Long Ming thought he had gotten away, the Riot Suppressor instantly appeared in front of him.

'This is bad!'

Long Ming was horrified.

The Riot Suppressor's hand shot out, grabbing Long Ming by the neck and viciously slamming him into the ground.

BOOM—

The earth trembled violently as the ground shattered on impact.

Long Ming spat out a mouthful of blood.

'This time I'm really done for. I'm going to lose the Blade Blood Demon mecha-armor. I guess my luck finally ran out.'

But just then, the Riot Suppressor suddenly stopped his attack.

Long Ming instantly realized the man had been holding back—otherwise, he'd already be dead. He rasped,

"What the hell do you want?"

"Kid, finally decided to talk? You think you can just take my stuff and get away with it?"

The Riot Suppressor before him spoke in a deep voice.

"Your stuff? When did I take your stuff? Don't tell me you mean that green liquid?"

Long Ming was a little stunned.

"So you finally remember. Hand it over. Don't think you can get out of this just by dying!"

The Riot Suppressor cracked his neck and said with a sinister grin.

"Fine, you win. I'll give it back to you."

Long Ming's expression flickered. Although the green liquid was probably something valuable, he had no idea what it was for. Compared to that, his Blade Blood Demon mecha-armor was far more important.

"You think it's over just because you give it back?"

The Riot Suppressor's terrifying aura flared as he spoke to Long Ming with absolute dominance.

"Then what do you want?"

Long Ming replied in a hoarse voice.

"Kid, I'm giving you two choices. First, you can die and log out, but I'll have the entire Star Alliance put a bounty on your head. You'd better pray you're never caught. And don't think you're safe hiding in Civilization Paradise. In-game, I'll kill you on sight, every single time!"

The Riot Suppressor threatened him bluntly.

The corner of Long Ming's mouth twitched. His gut told him this guy wasn't lying or bluffing. He asked hoarsely,

"And the second option?"

"The second option: you have 24 hours to report to the Star Alliance Military Department office on the Omro Planetary Fortress!"

"Isn't that a death sentence?"

"Do you think you have a choice? You'll die if you don't go, too!"

the Riot Suppressor replied coldly.

"What am I supposed to do there?"

Long Ming asked after a few seconds of silence.

"Go to the recruitment department and enlist in the Second Legion. Remember, the Second Legion. If you get it wrong, you're dead."

the Riot Suppressor said in a tone that left no room for argument.

Hearing this, Long Ming fell silent.

Seeing Long Ming's silence, the Riot Suppressor spoke again.

"I know a guy like you doesn't like to be tied down. I can give you a pass on all the tedious, trivial rules of the legion. You can do whatever you want. All you have to do is obey my orders!"

"Fine."

Long Ming struggled to his feet and agreed.

"Excellent. Since you agree, you're now a member of my Second Legion. I'll let bygones be bygones!"

the Riot Suppressor said cheerfully, seeing that Long Ming had agreed.

"What do I do with the green liquid?"

Long Ming ventured.

"Since you're one of my Second Legion now, what you take with your own skill is yours. But that stuff is useless in your hands. When you go to report in, give it to the person in charge of the Second Legion. Once it's processed, you'll get your share."

"Okay! Do you want this other stuff?"

Long Ming gestured toward the small mountain of loot.

"Hmph. I'm not interested in that junk. Take it if you want."

the Riot Suppressor replied dismissively.

"It's okay if I take all of it?"

Long Ming was surprised. After all, it was the Third Legion's war booty.

"Like I said, I don't care what you do. But remember this: offline, you are not to kill any Star Alliance military personnel. Online, do whatever you want. If you win, it's a credit to your skill. If you lose, just don't tell anyone you're one of my men. I can't afford that embarrassment."

the Riot Suppressor warned him directly.

"Deal."

Long Ming's eyes lit up.

"Remember, you have 24 hours. If you're even one minute late, you know the consequences."

After giving his final warning, the Riot Suppressor turned and flew away.

Long Ming watched the Riot Suppressor's departing figure, his expression complicated. He didn't know if joining the Second Legion was a good thing or a bad thing.

But Long Ming couldn't be bothered with that now. He immediately rushed toward the pile of loot.

Fumira and the others were all dead, and the entire city was filled with Sea Beasts. He could plunder the spoils to his heart's content.
