Chapter 338: Chapter 45: The 1st Puzzle Piece to Revolutionize Warfare
For the next three days and three nights, Mo Ning remained in a state of extreme focus.
The rotor drone he had seen in the Meditation World had sparked an unprecedentedly intense wave of inspiration.
It was as if a cork plugging a fountain had been pulled; brilliant ideas erupted one after another, gushing forth like water.
Mo Ning sat at his desk, frantically designing the Magic Pattern Drone.
During this time, Anya and Reina came to visit several times.
Entering the Cabin in the Woods from the academy wasn’t just possible via the brooch; obtaining Flower’s permission was another way.
The advantage of the former was that one could come over at any time.
The latter, however, required applying in advance and waiting for Flower to open a Teleportation Gate, which was more than just a little troublesome.
Every time the two young women came, they saw Mo Ning completely immersed in a world of knowledge.
Each time, they saw three different Ink Tube Pens dancing across three different sheets of scale pattern paper at a dumbfounding speed.
One was the Pen of Contemplation, an Ink Tube Pen, while another was a Magic Pen created with the Inkjet Magic Pen Skill.
The third was also a Witchcraft Item—the Map Drawing Pen.
It was valued at 200 Black Tower Points.
Ordinary Apprentices would be reluctant to buy it, but for Mo Ning, the cost was a drop in the bucket.
The purpose of this item was to draw perfectly standard geometric shapes.
If one used the Magic Pen Technique to draw a relatively long straight line, it would inevitably be a little crooked due to issues with control.
But the Map Drawing Pen absolutely would not.
If one needed to draw an angle of 32.5 degrees, the angle that appeared on the paper would never be 32.3 degrees or 33.2 degrees.
For a Wizard designing Magic Pattern Machinery, this pen was an indispensable, fundamental tool.
Mo Ning seemed completely unaware of their arrival, his eyes glued to the formulas flowing rapidly across the manuscript.
Driven by curiosity, the two young women once tiptoed over and secretly glanced at the contents of the paper.
Just one look made them feel a little dizzy.
So fast!
They had just finished reading the first line of Divination Formulas when the twentieth line was already being imprinted onto the paper.
By the time they began to ponder the meaning of the first formula, Flower had already taken away the filled sheet of scale pattern paper and deftly laid down a blank one.
The two young women decisively gave up on trying to understand.
They glanced at each other, and both saw the same shock in the other’s eyes, a look that said, "Is he even human?"
They had once thought they had seen the boy’s limits, but now they were shocked to realize that what they’d seen before was just his normal thought process.
Anya and Reina took it upon themselves to go to the kitchen, where they changed out of their novice blue robes, tied on aprons, and transformed into chefs to prepare a meal for the boy.
The Dazed Girl, still reeling from the shock, couldn’t help but ask in a low voice, "Do Official Wizards think this fast?"
Anya thought for a moment before answering with some hesitation, "Maybe about the same."
The Noble Lady added, "But definitely not for as long as Mo Ning."
When they came over yesterday, Mo Ning had been in the same state. For it to continue for a whole day and night was simply unbelievable.
Anya felt a little regretful.
She had specifically brought a tight-fitting protective suit for practicing Qi and Blood Power, a brand-new style that could offer a different kind of fun.
She lamented to herself, ’It’s a shame I can’t enjoy the night view with Mo Ning in the courtyard.’
The Noble Lady remembered her mother’s teachings: "Men always like fresh and exciting things, so my dear daughter, remember to put in a little extra thought sometimes and prepare some new tricks."
Exercising their Qi and Blood Power while gazing at the brilliant starry sky was the activity she had carefully planned, but judging by Mo Ning’s condition, it was clear they wouldn’t be doing that tonight.
Ads by PubFutureThe two young women prepared dinner and watched as Flower brought the sumptuous meal over and placed it in front of the boy.
They watched with their own eyes as the boy seemed to turn into a humanoid calculating machine. His left hand repeated the mechanical motions of "pick up food—bring to mouth—chew," while his gaze never left the scale pattern paper.
Anya subconsciously recalled their "first time"—the boy had been calculating formulas while diligently exercising.
The Noble Lady felt she would never forget this scene for the rest of her life.
「On the fourth day of tackling the drone project.」
Working without sleep, Mo Ning had solved over ten major theoretical problems and had more or less completed the design for the Magic Pattern Drone.
Of course, this was only the first version. In technical terms, it was the prototype blueprint.
It would inevitably have many problems that would need to be continuously optimized based on the results of subsequent experiments to reach a perfect state.
Mo Ning used the Pen of Contemplation to write a shopping list containing several hundred materials and gave it to Flower to handle the procurement.
When Anya and Reina next entered the Cabin in the Woods, they were greeted by the sight of an entire cabinet filled with Spiritual Materials.
"...A total of 4,584 Black Tower Points. Please confirm the order!"
The two young women happened to hear the figure reported by the Artificial Soul and subconsciously glanced at each other.
Anya mouthed the words, "I knew it. This must be an incredible project."
Reina nodded lightly.
To complete thousands of pages of Divination Manuscripts and blueprints single-handedly in just two days was simply shocking.
Mo Ning glanced at his two teammates as if seeing them for the first time. "Long time no see."
The corners of the two young women’s mouths twitched.
’Long time?’
’We just saw you last night! We were sitting right next to you, watching you finish your dinner!’
However, they knew that when Wizards and Apprentices were in a state of extraordinary focus, they often did some very peculiar things, so his comment was completely understandable.
