From Wizard Apprentice to Conqueror of Myriad Worlds
Chapter 334 - 43: Forceful Suppression
Chapter 334: Chapter 43: Forceful Suppression
The tall Second Level Apprentice who had spoken out before now showed clear apprehension in his eyes and didn’t dare utter another word.
Mo Ning’s utterly magnificent entrance had successfully awed the entire Adventurer’s Guild.
This majestic Thunder Eagle was a new achievement born from his continuous research into the Phantom Carved Divine Statue.
In a way, it could be considered the third type of Soul Witchcraft he had mastered, and its power had firmly reached Level Zero.
But this technique came at a steep cost. A single appearance from the Thunder Eagle drained a whole 18 points from his Magic Pool, nearly ten times the cost of an ordinary Level Zero Witchcraft.
If Mo Ning hadn’t possessed three Magic Pools, giving him a Magic Power output far surpassing that of an ordinary First Level Apprentice, he likely wouldn’t have been able to cast this Witchcraft at all.
Of course, this was also because he hadn’t yet finished analyzing the Thunder Eagle using Divination.
If he were to convert it into a Divination Witchcraft, the Magic Power cost would be reduced by more than half.
At that moment, the valley was completely silent.
No one dared to speak.
Mo Ning deliberately waited a few seconds, until the Thunder Eagle began showing signs of fading, before he slowly spoke.
"If you hadn’t been trying to break into the ruins, I wouldn’t have appeared here representing the Arbitration Court."
It was a very clever lie.
His status was that of a Preparatory Arbiter, so claiming to "represent the Arbitration Court" wasn’t a complete exaggeration.
But to the members of the Adventurer’s Guild, it sounded as though the Arbitration Court had long been aware of their actions and had specifically dispatched an Arbiter to deal with them.
Princess Peggy’s red lips parted as if to speak, but she ended up swallowing the words that were on the tip of her tongue.
Mo Ning pointed toward the hill, his tone growing sharp.
"Frankly, I don’t know who gave you the audacity to dig a tunnel here in a foolish attempt to enter the ruins."
He then revealed a piece of information he’d gotten from Flower. "You should know, even a powerful Third Level Wizard wouldn’t dare set foot in this ruin."
Princess Peggy gasped, her lovely face filled with astonishment.
A noticeable stir went through the others as well.
The title "Third Level Wizard" carried a weight no less heavy than "Black Tower Academy."
It was only then that the Thunder Eagle finally dissipated into countless Electric Snakes. They shot across the sky, a grand spectacle that lasted but an instant before vanishing as the snakes themselves faded from view.
This scene was now seared deep into the adventurers’ minds.
Unsurprisingly, almost no one showed any obvious sign of doubting Mo Ning’s words.
His status as a Black Robe, combined with the powerful appearance of the Thunder Eagle, naturally lent his words an undeniable air of authority.
After a few seconds of internal struggle, Princess Peggy took a deep breath and declared loudly,
"Mister Arbiter, I understand. My Adventurer’s Guild and I will leave the ruins at once!"
She had to leave.
Otherwise, there was only one alternative: war.
After all, he was an Arbiter, backed by the vast Arbitration Court. Who knew if there were other Arbiters hiding nearby?
No rational person would attack an Arbiter under these circumstances.
The adventurers, including the two Second Level Apprentices, were all utterly dejected.
After all, they had endured countless hardships to reach their destination, only to be forcefully driven away after digging a single tunnel. Who could possibly be happy about that?
Mo Ning glanced at Princess Peggy, his tone becoming a little more courteous.
"Her Highness the Princess, if it’s not too much trouble, please hand over the item used to locate these ruins."
He smoothly invoked the Academy’s authority. "This is a matter of great importance. I must hand the item over to the Academy."
This time, he wasn’t lying.
He had no intention of entering the ruins himself; handing the item over to the Academy was the most appropriate course of action.
He understood perfectly well that Lord Martin would be interested in this artifact. To complete the assessment assigned by the former Dean, as relayed by Flower, he had to get his hands on it.
Princess Peggy’s expression flickered between surprise and anger.
This was blatant robbery.
The two Second Level Apprentices exchanged glances, seemingly discussing how to reject his demand.
As the strongest members of the Adventurer’s Guild, they had accepted payment from the Royal Family; by all rights, they had to step forward and say something.
But Mo Ning gave them no such chance.
With a thought, he decisively activated the [Thunder Shadow Leopard Fang Pendant] and put on another spectacular show.
"CRACKLE—CRACKLE—"
The sound of crackling electricity rang out.
He instantly transformed into a thunderous shadow wreathed in Electric Snakes, executing [Thunder Shifting] three times in a row to descend from the sky to the ground in a flash.
He landed on the top of a tall tree, a hundred meters away from the Adventurer’s Guild, and looked down upon them.
This flashy display of skill undoubtedly stunned everyone once more.
The Second Level Apprentices and Silver Knights alike had now completely lost any will to fight Mo Ning.
With such a powerful Displacement Witchcraft alone, the Adventurer’s Guild wouldn’t be able to stop him if he wanted to leave, and not a single one of them could escape if he chose to pursue.
Shock flashed through Princess Peggy’s lovely eyes, but she quickly regained her composure.
Suppressing her anger, she began to reason with him calmly.
"Mister Arbiter, the artifact the Adventurer’s Guild used to find the ruins is the property of the White Stone Kingdom. I’m afraid I must take it back and present it to His Majesty the King."
The princess was no fool. If the Academy truly needed the item, she would rather the Royal Family present it to them directly. That way, she could at least secure more benefits for the Royal Family.
The corner of Mo Ning’s mouth pulled back in a sneer, his attitude becoming aggressive.
"My apologies, Her Highness the Princess, but I was not negotiating. I can’t be certain what you might do if I let you go, so for security’s sake, I must take it now."
He didn’t push the matter to its breaking point, however. "Of course, I will report to the Academy that this item was donated by the White Stone Kingdom. I’m confident the Academy will provide a suitable reward."
Princess Peggy bit her lip.
The atmosphere immediately grew tense.
