Chapter 292: Chapter 30: Decent Loot, an Opportunity to Create 1 Mo Ning Formula

Along the way, the Dazed Girl’s chirping voice filled the air, punctuated by Anya’s occasional soft laughter.

"Wow, there’s so much Rabish Grass here! We Black Mountain Herbalists often use it to treat stomach problems. This grass could sell for a lot of copper coins at the market."

"This area is deep within the Yatu Plateau. There should be a lot of hidden resources, but unfortunately, the forest is still teeming with too many monsters."

"We don’t have to worry about monsters, we have the powerful Mr. Mo Ning!"

"That’s true!"

After everything they had been through, in the two girls’ minds, Mo Ning had become completely synonymous with the word "powerful."

Mo Ning strolled along, feeling as if time itself had slowed to a lazy pace. His mood felt saturated with a uniquely cheerful melody.

The Soul of Deathly Silence seemed to be completely suppressed, showing not even the slightest sign of resurfacing.

Before long, the three of them arrived at the Goblin Tribe.

By now, the scent of blood drifting on the wind had already attracted numerous birds and beasts, the most common among them being carrion birds like ravens.

Nature was cleaning up the shocking traces of battle in its own way, incorporating death back into the cycle of life.

Naturally, the two girls were once again stunned by Mo Ning’s accomplishment.

Something that had required a full charge from the entire Battle Banner Legion during the mine assessment, the young man had now accomplished all by himself.

The scene was particularly striking because the ground was littered with the short creatures, every single one killed by a headshot. No other cause of death was visible.

Without wasting words, the two of them immediately began to butcher and process the Screaming Goblin corpses.

Compared to the Dark Goblins from the mine, Screaming Goblins possessed a type of Spiritual Material in the vocal organs of their necks, making them more valuable. ℯ

Both girls were skilled hands at processing corpses, and with Flower assisting, their work was extremely efficient.

Meanwhile, Mo Ning walked over to where the Artificial Soul had piled up the spoils of war and began to examine the harvest from the recent battle.

The most numerous items were Spiritual Gemstones and Spiritual Ores of various sizes.

In his past life, gemstones were merely rare inorganic compounds whose value was derived more from market hype. In the Wizard World, however, a significant portion of gemstones contained Spiritual Power.

Certain goblin habits were quite similar to those of the Dragon Race; they loved to collect shiny things and viewed them as symbols of personal wealth.

According to the knowledge Mo Ning had gained from books, most internal conflicts within any given Goblin Tribe arose from disputes over wealth, not food.

This was the exact opposite of what most people would intuitively believe.

Then again, when Mo Ning had first read the data in those books, he had genuinely felt that Wizards were a group of people with an incredibly scientific mindset.

To think they would spend long periods observing and studying goblins just to satisfy their curiosity, even writing treatises on goblin social studies.

In addition, there were many processed Spiritual Materials that were clearly parts dismantled from the Evil God Altar.

Mo Ning merely gazed at them and felt an unsettling aura. This confirmed another piece of knowledge he had learned from his books:

"Because the will of an Evil God once descended here, most of the materials used to construct the altar carry a spiritual taint.

"Any attempt to utilize the Spiritual Power within them can lead to the contamination of one’s own spirit.

"Intuitively, one would think these materials would be greatly devalued, but in fact, the opposite is true.

"To many Wizards, the Evil God’s taint alters the Spirituality contained within the materials, which in turn gives them higher research value.

"Spiritual Materials that have been repeatedly tainted by the descent of an Evil God are often several times more valuable than normal materials."

Those sentences, which he had once skimmed over, now became exceptionally vivid in his mind.

’Reading thousands of books and traveling thousands of miles... That proverb is just as true here in the Wizard World,’ Mo Ning thought happily to himself.

He only observed them with his eyes, with no intention of touching them, let alone rashly inspecting them with his Spiritual Power.

A reckless newcomer or Apprentice might have touched them directly, unknowingly becoming tainted by the Evil God’s aura, only to meet with a terrible disaster one day in the future.

Knowledge not only gave Mo Ning power, but it also taught him how to ensure his own safety.

The metallic dragonfly flew past, clutching a corpse, and explained casually:

"Mr. Mo Ning, the most valuable items here are the Spiritual Materials from the Evil God Altar.

"If you were to sell all these spoils to the academy, you could expect to earn at least 1,500 Black Tower Points.

"If you choose to sell them in Apprentice Town, you might get 1,700 Black Tower Points or even more."

Not far away, the two girls’ ears caught the number "1,700 Black Tower Points," and astonishment uncontrollably filled their beautiful eyes.

The same thought surfaced in both of their minds simultaneously: ’As expected of Mr. Mo Ning.’

Mo Ning, however, just let out a quiet "Oh."

Including the Mind Crystal, his total earnings from this battle had already surpassed 4,000 Black Tower Points.

He didn’t feel much joy, but rather a sense of reflection.

To think that so much profit could be squeezed from a seemingly ordinary Goblin Tribe. No wonder the Adventurers in the various Human Kingdoms were countless, and the academy’s Apprentices were just as enthusiastic about exploring the unknown wilds.

Of course, Mo Ning was also aware that a massive haul of 4,000 Black Tower Points was an extremely rare and special case.

Under normal circumstances, an Apprentice adventure party might exhaust themselves to wipe out a Goblin Tribe, and their earnings would likely only be two to three hundred Black Tower Points.

After subtracting the endless expenses incurred during the adventure, a final surplus of forty percent would be considered quite good.

Considering the huge time investment and the risk of injury or death, such returns were hardly enough to make anyone feel "so jealous."

「Just then.」

A Crystal Diamond gemstone, hand-carved into a rhomboid shape with a craftsmanship that clearly revealed the goblins’ crude skills, suddenly pulsed with a strange black light.

Mo Ning’s heart leaped in alarm, and he felt the hair on his body stand on end.

He instantly understood. This altar was no ordinary one; the Evil God was attempting to project a minuscule wisp of its power to check what had happened to it.

Logically speaking, with the Goblin Priest dead, the altar should have lost its positioning "anchor." Combined with the fact that Flower had already dismantled it, the Evil God’s will should have had no way to descend upon this plane.

And yet, this extremely improbable event was happening anyway.

The metallic dragonfly’s wing-beat frequency suddenly spiked, showing that Flower had also noticed the change in the Crystal Diamond.

But the Artificial Soul was bound by its established rules. It did nothing, merely playing the role of a silent observer.

At that moment, Mo Ning understood completely. If the Evil God’s will truly descended, the probability of its faint wisp of energy directly harming him was perhaps not high.

However, given the Evil God’s methods, it was highly probable that he would be unknowingly afflicted with some kind of curse.

The most terrifying part was that an Evil God’s curse would be extremely weak at first, undetectable even to an Official Wizard.

Over time, it would gradually grow, until one day the curse would suddenly erupt, and at that point, it could very well cost him his life.

Mo Ning’s body froze on the spot, his mind consumed by a single thought: ’I have to find a way to stop the Will of the Evil God from descending.’

However, the connection was already established. For a mere First Level Apprentice, how could that possibly be easy?
