Chapter 287: Chapter 29: Appearance of the Evil God Priest, Mo Ning’s Crushing Strike

If their enemies proved too powerful, they could use these tunnels to escape quickly.

Among the many goblin subspecies, this band of Screaming Goblins could truly be called "master builders."

Three Blazing Fireballs descended from the sky, slamming into the ground and the conical houses and instantly erupting into three huge fireballs.

Although the burrow had been built with fire prevention in mind, the intense heat from the fireballs instantly ignited the hay and wood inside.

The hay served as the Screaming Goblins’ beds. They had even developed the good hygienic habit of periodically taking the hay out to air-dry. And hay, of course, was also the most flammable fuel.

Wood was the goblins’ primary material for making furniture and decorating their homes.

In an instant, thick smoke began to billow from inside half of the twenty-odd houses.

The burrow was thrown into chaos.

The authority that had previously maintained order by force could no longer contain the goblins’ terror.

"AH— AAHHH— AH—"

Screams erupted, filling the air.

The filthy little runts scurried about in terror, desperately searching for tunnel entrances to dive into.

Just then,

a particularly sharp howl, tinged with an indescribable malevolence, suddenly echoed from somewhere beneath the burrow.

The raging flames seemed to be suppressed by an invisible force. They instantly died down before being extinguished completely.

Only the thick smoke continued to churn and spread.

At the same time, a skull that looked as if it were coalesced from fresh blood, with two goat horns sprouting from its forehead, shot up from the ground. Trailing a blood-red streak, it sped toward the Shadow Leopard.

Flower instantly recognized the Evil Magic—the Evil Skull Technique.

However, the followers of the Evil God preferred to call it the Holy Skull Technique.

Although this Evil Magic was categorized as Level Zero Witchcraft, its power surpassed most spells of its level because casting it required sacrificing a life to the Evil God.

The Priest had evidently figured it out: without the Shadow Leopard’s guidance, the three fireballs could never have hit the burrow.

So, it decided to eliminate the Leopard Shadow first.

Logically, this seemed like the right decision.

But in her stream of consciousness, Flower cheerfully noted, ’Idiot. You’ve fallen for Master’s trap!’

The next moment...

CRACKLE—

The Leopard Shadow’s body flickered with electricity. In an instant, it transformed into a streak of lightning, piercing through the blood-red skull and diving into a hidden tunnel entrance.

As the smoke spread, it seeped into the tunnels, only to billow out from multiple other openings.

By carefully observing these details, it wasn’t difficult to deduce the layout and path of the tunnels beneath the burrow.

Combined with the earlier scream, one could pinpoint the Evil God Priest’s exact location.

Flower knew that her master had done all of this.

Master’s true goal in Throwing the Blazing Fireballs was to force the Priest’s hand.

The Evil Magic wielded by the Priest was, in essence, a form of barbaric and primitive Ancient Witchcraft.

This type of Witchcraft generally suffered from a serious flaw: inefficient use of Magic Power.

To compensate for this inefficiency, the Magic Power output had to be increased.

It was a well-known fact that the greater the Magic Power output, the greater the mental backlash.

The Priest had cast two Evil Magics in succession, and its spirit had suffered two consecutive backlashes. It would be impossible for it to cast a third for a short while.

In other words, the Priest was at its most vulnerable.

And the Leopard Shadow had successfully seized this opportunity.

From the start of the battle, the Priest had been led by the nose, putting it at a complete disadvantage.

"ARGH—"

Another wail of agony came from underground.

Evidently, the Priest had been struck by the Thunder Power.

The blood-red skull trembled violently, then with a POP, it disintegrated into a spray of fresh blood that splattered onto the ground.

Wherever the blood splattered, be it soil or blades of grass, everything was corroded, turning jet-black.

This wasn’t the work of a potent poison, but the corrosion of intense, negative Spiritual Power.

Wizards had a single name for this kind of power: the Power of the Evil God.

This meant one thing: the Priest’s Spiritual World had been severely damaged, and it could no longer maintain the Evil Magic.

Flower arrived at a surprising conclusion. ’The Shadow Leopard can directly attack the Spiritual World? It seems that pendant underwent an incredible evolution just now.’

But after a moment’s thought, she found a logical explanation. ’The pendant’s evolution is rooted in Master’s Spiritual World. No wonder it could inflict such a grievous wound on the Priest’s Spiritual World.’

Flower looked down upon the battlefield, knowing in her heart that the battle was nearing its end.

With its spirit damaged, the Priest was unable to cast any Evil Technique for a short time, leaving it completely disarmed.

The rest of the battle unfolded just as the Artificial Soul had predicted.

Just a dozen seconds later, 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ

a small, trembling figure emerged from a hidden opening, coughing nonstop.

The moment its head appeared, a bullet flew in and drilled precisely into its left eye, exiting through the back of its skull.

BANG—

Its head burst like a watermelon.

The Evil God Priest was dead.

From beginning to end, it died in utter confusion, never even knowing where its enemy was hidden or what they looked like.

Flower couldn’t help but praise, "Magnificent!"

A Goblin Tribe that would give even a Second Level Apprentice trouble had been utterly crushed by Mo Ning.
