Chapter 235: Chapter 13: Sweeping the Underground Mine, Mo Ning’s Performance Stuns Everyone
But the performance of the Battle Banner Legion, coupled with the terrifying combat prowess Mo Ning displayed, made everyone have second thoughts.
It wasn’t that they didn’t want to fight, but that they genuinely felt they couldn’t win.
Princess Phoebe began to command the logistics team, "First squad, go process the Climber’s corpse. Your priority is to search for a Totem Fang."
She displayed an exceptional memory, commanding again, "Climbers often gnaw on ore, so their livers usually contain metals with Spiritual Power. The skin on their hands and feet is also imbued with Spirituality. Remember to carve it all off."
A group of new recruits excitedly rushed over, surrounding the corpse and going to work with their knives.
However, the logistics team soon discovered a frustrating fact: this Climber wasn’t wearing a Totem Fang.
Princess Phoebe went over for a look and confirmed it. "As far as I know, only goblins of a certain status wear Totem Fangs."
She glanced at the legion’s formation and offered some encouragement. "Don’t worry, everyone. The legion will soon achieve even greater results. There will be plenty of Totem Fangs to go around then."
「Thirty seconds later.」
The Gun and Shield Corps was the first to approach the cave entrance.
Over a hundred beams of light converged on the cave entrance, illuminating it with a blinding glare. Anyone not wearing Anti-Strong Light Lenses had to squint their eyes into thin slits.
Even an idiot could see that if monsters like Dark Goblins charged out into this, they would be blinded, unable to even open their eyes.
Nearly two hundred High Intensity Flashlights had completely altered the mine’s environment, giving the Battle Banner Legion an overwhelming advantage.
"Advance! The Black Panther has found traces of the monsters!"
Mo Ning calmly issued the command.
"Advance!"
Anya echoed with a roar.
"Advance!"
The Gun and Shield Corps roared in unison, their voices echoing into the bottomless cavern.
The bright lights, combined with the roars, created an immense sense of pressure for the monsters in the cave.
"AARGH—GAK—GUH—DA—"
Strange cries could be faintly heard from deep within the cave. Anyone familiar with goblins could tell it was their language, faintly tinged with panic and terror.
Although goblins have diverged into many subspecies, the linguistic differences between them were minor.
The corners of Mo Ning’s mouth curved up slightly.
Through the movements captured by his Trick, [Wind Listener], and the vision transmitted back by the Black Panther’s phantom, he "saw" a small tribe of several hundred Dark Goblins.
Thanks to his arrangements, the legion had the advantage in environment, equipment, organization, and morale. ’There’s no way we can lose this fight.’
Mo Ning issued the order to attack: "There are over three hundred Dark Goblins ahead. Kill them all!"
"Kill!"
Anya bellowed.
"Kill!"
The Battle Group roared in unison, their voices like rolling thunder, shaking dust from the rock walls.
Soon, the battle erupted.
Dozens of short figures swarmed out from three branching tunnels. They were clad in crude "armor" pieced together from bones and stone shards—if you could even call it that.
Facing the annihilation of their tribe, they finally mustered their last vestiges of courage.
However, the seemingly harmless, blinding light proved to be a massive hindrance for the Dark Goblins.
They could only shield their eyes with their Stone Shields as they stumbled and crawled forward in a desperate charge.
To be honest, the scene was rather comical.
At that moment, Mo Ning unleashed a terrifyingly lethal assault.
He utilized the Magic Parallel Stream theory he had created to deeply optimize [Powerful Throw], allowing him to hurl five bullets at once.
WHOOSH—WHOOSH—
Piercing shrieks erupted from his palm one after another.
In a single second, at a jaw-dropping speed, he cast the Trick six times in a row, unleashing thirty bullets at once.
Such a short interval between castings was a testament to just how much he had optimized the Trick.
In the span of a single breath, a large swathe of the Dark Goblins at the front of the charge fell in unison.
Most of them were Iron Bone Goblins, another Dark Goblin subspecies whose bones were rich in metallic components, yet they still couldn’t stop the bullets.
Because the bullets were laced with trace amounts of Spiritual Metal, they easily pierced the Stone Shields the little creatures held before their heads and continued on to relentlessly penetrate their skulls.
A smaller number were Climbers. They charged out hanging upside down from the tunnel ceilings, and without exception, had their heads blown off. Their bodies rained down in a clatter.
The rest of the legion didn’t even have time to act before the Dark Goblins were completely broken by this wave of slaughter.
Goblins are by nature a cowardly race. Although the Ancient Wizards had managed to make their subspecies braver, that newfound courage had its limits.
And so, the small creatures were scared witless.
The Dark Goblins in the rear all turned and desperately fled back toward their nest, trying to get away from those "Demons" emitting the terrifying white light.
What followed was a one-sided slaughter.
The small creatures’ sporadic counterattacks consisted of nothing more than throwing a few rocks and hurling some crudely made short spears.
The Heavy Shield Hands at the front easily blocked these attacks, which at most left a few inconspicuous dents on the faces of their shields.
The new recruits swung long spears, pulled the triggers on their Crossbows, or cast the Trick [Throwing] to hurl Iron Balls, reaping the lives of the Dark Goblins in droves with cheerful ease.
Fire Magic was temporarily forbidden. The caves were simply too cramped; starting a fire would only cause more trouble.

「No. 2 Black Tower. Inside the Observation Room.」
Three Third Level Apprentices watched with their own eyes as, in just five short minutes, an entire Goblin Tribe in the underground mine was utterly annihilated.
And the Battle Banner Legion was completely unscathed. Not a single member was injured.
