Su Chen got back to his place and flopped directly onto the sofa. "Ah~ It’s good to be home!"

He squirmed a bit on the sofa before pulling his phone from his pocket. He opened the group chat with Sicong, Qin Fen, and the others, then immediately posted a photo of himself with the giant grouper he’d caught in the Bay Area.

He even made sure to tag Sicong and the others, casually adding, "Sigh, this fish isn’t even that big. Just a giant grouper of a little over two hundred pounds, that’s all!"

A moment later, Su Chen’s phone started blowing up with notifications. They all said the same thing: "Holy shit!"

Their reactions were just what Su Chen had expected. He followed up with a few more photos: some of him battling the behemoth, and some of it served up as a gourmet meal.

"Damn... now that looks appetizing."

"Young Master Su, you’re incredible. The biggest fish I’ve ever caught was maybe ten or twenty pounds."

"Old Su, are you for real? Where the hell did you catch a grouper that big? It doesn’t look like you’re in China!" Sicong didn’t bother typing, sending a voice message instead.

The others quickly caught on, and they all started sending voice messages too. Su Chen didn’t even have time to reply; he was too busy just listening to them all.

This dampened Su Chen’s enthusiasm. ’I guess this flex was just so-so,’ he thought. ’Pretty underwhelming, really.’

Perhaps because Su Chen hadn’t replied, Sicong started a video call with him directly.

The moment the call connected, Su Chen saw a pale figure disappear from view behind Sicong. He got a crystal-clear look.

"Yo, a new one already?" Su Chen couldn’t help but tease.

"Ahem. Isn’t this perfectly normal?" Sicong said smugly, glancing to the side. But he quickly changed the subject back to the giant grouper.

"But seriously, did you really catch that giant grouper? You sure it’s not a staged photo?"

"What kind of question is that? You think I’m the type of person who’d fake a flex?" Su Chen said, his eyes filled with mock contempt.

One look at Su Chen’s expression and Sicong knew it was the real deal. He smacked his lips and muttered a single word...

"Badass!"

"Damn right. It took me nearly half an hour to haul that thing out of the sea. Took a ton of effort." Hearing the praise, Su Chen grinned from ear to ear.

"Ahem. So where’d you catch it? We should go try it out sometime!" Sicong said, looking eager.

"That might be tough. I caught it in the Pacific Ocean, near the Bay Area."

Hearing this, Sicong shot up in bed. The blanket slipped off him, revealing—to Su Chen’s surprise—that the guy actually had abs...

Sicong realized he was exposed and laughingly pulled the blanket back up.

"You caught it in the Bay Area? So you went to the States? But it looks to me like you’re at One Shanghai Seaview right now!"

The sofa Su Chen was lying on was positioned just right, with his head pointing toward the Huangpu River, so Sicong had a clear view of the scenery outside the window on the video call.

"Yeah, I went a while back to take care of some things. I just got home, so I had to share my haul with you guys, didn’t I?"

The two chatted for a while longer. Sicong wanted to invite Su Chen out for lunch to hear his stories about America, but Su Chen turned him down without hesitation.

After flying for more than ten hours, Su Chen felt like he was falling apart and just wanted to stay home and rest. He did, however, agree to get together for a meal the next day.

After hanging up, Su Chen thought about Mark’s family and the two top-tier researchers who had arrived in Shanghai ahead of him. ’Now that I’m back in the country, I should probably pay them.’

Su Chen didn’t call Mark directly. Instead, he just told Jiang Hui to arrange for Mark to come over to his place that afternoon.
