Chapter 327: Chapter 188: This Air Isn’t Sweet

"Let’s go greet our major shareholder," Bird said, starting to walk toward Su Chen’s group.

But his first step froze mid-stride. He saw the intimidating group of men from before—the ones who had given him pause—now walking toward Su Chen.

GULP. Mark, standing beside him, couldn’t help but swallow hard. He glanced at Bird. "Mr. Bird, should we still go over?"

Bird hesitated. He knew what that group was about and, for a moment, was at a loss.

Meanwhile, Wang Gang, who was walking behind Su Chen, saw the dozen or so burly men approaching them. He hurried to Su Chen’s side. "Sir, the men coming toward us are trouble. Maybe we should hold back and see what’s going on first."

Su Chen glanced at Wang Gang with an amused expression. "Tell me, what makes you say they’re trouble?"

"Sir, you can tell just by looking at them they’re not ordinary people. The men at the front, aside from the two leaders, are carrying black briefcases. Those are specialized MP5 briefcase guns, the kind used by elite bodyguards."

"And the men behind them with the backpacks? Those are rapid deployment systems. They can get a fully-equipped operative ready for action in under twenty seconds. You only see a detail like this at high-stakes events. I can’t believe we’re seeing it here."

Su Chen couldn’t help but nod. ’It seems Chen Fei was right. This Wang Gang he recommended is a real professional.’

Wang Gang was about to urge Su Chen again when he saw Su Chen stride confidently toward the men in black.

Wang Gang was dumbfounded. He started to follow, but Chen Fei grabbed his arm, holding him back.

"Brother Fei, what are you doing? Let me go! Those guys are dangerous! What if something happens to Sir—" Wang Gang was frantic.

Chen Fei jutted his chin in Su Chen’s direction. "They’re on our side."

Wang Gang was completely stunned. ’On our side?’ He whipped his head around. Sure enough, Su Chen was laughing and chatting with the two men in the lead. And on their faces, Wang Gang saw nothing but deference.

A chill shot straight to his head.

"Brother Fei, who are they?" Wang Gang asked, his curiosity piqued.

Even Chen Qiang and Li Yun, who had been standing back, took a couple of steps closer to Chen Fei, their ears pricked to catch his reply.

Chen Fei glanced at Wang Gang, his tone casual. "That’s IPS Security Company. It belongs to Mr. Su."

"IPS!" Three gasps of shock rang out in unison.

The three men stood with their mouths agape, their eyes wide with disbelief. As veterans with years of service, they had of course heard of the renowned IPS. But they never in their wildest dreams imagined that the world-famous security company belonged to their boss.

For a moment, all three of them struggled to process the information.

"I didn’t expect you to come in person. Weren’t you filming in South Africa?" Su Chen asked the burly man before him.

The burly man was none other than Raymond, the head of IPS Security Company.

"All my scenes are done. We’re just waiting on Wu Jing to shoot a few pickups for some details, then we’re wrapped!"

A smile spread across Raymond’s face at the mention of filming. He had been resistant to the idea before, but he’d found the experience surprisingly fun. Before leaving, he’d even told Wu Jing to give him a call if a similar role ever came up again.

Su Chen could see Raymond’s lingering enthusiasm. ’Something interesting must have happened on set.’ He made a mental note to ask Wu Jing about it when he had the chance.

"Boss, shall we head to the hotel now?" Raymond asked.

"Hold on a moment."

Su Chen turned and looked toward Bird and the others standing in the distance, then gave them a wave.

Bird and Mark, who had been watching from afar, saw the wave. They exchanged a look and strode over to Su Chen. Of course, only the two of them approached; the rest of their party wisely stayed by the cars.

"Mr. Su, a pleasure. I’m Bird, from BlackRock."

Su Chen recognized the voice immediately. This was the man who had called him several times.

"A pleasure." After a brief handshake, Su Chen’s gaze shifted to the man beside him. "Then you must be Mr. Mark, the CEO of Longteng Technology."

Mark was both surprised and flattered that Su Chen knew who he was. He could already tell that Su Chen was no ordinary man.

The intimidating men in black now stood behind their major shareholder like docile lambs. If he still couldn’t read the situation, he had no business running a company—he might as well go raise cattle in Texas.

"Mr. Su, an honor!"

Mark’s obsequious attitude made Su Chen a little uncomfortable. ’Weren’t American billionaires supposed to be arrogant? This one’s practically bowing as he speaks. If it weren’t for his skin color, I’d think he was Japanese.’

But Su Chen didn’t know that while Mark was a multi-millionaire on paper, his entire fortune was tied up in Longteng Technology stock. The liquid cash he had on hand was only a few million US Dollars at most.

Besides, who among the people here could he possibly afford to offend? Su Chen was a given—just the scale of his airport reception and that private jet worth nearly a hundred million US Dollars spoke volumes about his background.

Who travels with a security detail the size of something you’d only see on the news?

And as for Bird, he was from BlackRock, a global behemoth you didn’t cross.

"Boss, perhaps you should all get settled at the hotel first. You can chat more there," Raymond suggested quietly, stepping up to Su Chen’s side.

Mark’s eyes lit up. He quickly interjected, "Mr. Su, I’ve already arranged a hotel for you. If you’d like..."

Raymond shot Mark a look. "That won’t be necessary. We’ve already arranged a hotel."

Mark could only offer a weak smile, mumbling something about his own lack of foresight.

"Let’s go. It’s getting late." After an eleven-hour flight, even on an incredibly comfortable private jet, Su Chen was feeling tired. He was looking forward to a shower and a chance to relax at the hotel.

Su Chen and his group naturally joined Raymond’s motorcade. It was easier to relax and talk freely when they were all on the same team.

As the massive motorcade of nearly thirty vehicles rolled out of the airport, passersby scrambled to pull out their phones and take pictures.
