Chapter 299: Chapter 178: Time to Settle the Accounts

The place Ye Feng arranged for Su Chen and the others wasn’t some famous five-star hotel, but a villa on the peak of Baiyun Mountain that overlooked the city center.

"I bought this last year. Haven’t even stayed in it since the renovations were finished. The sheets and covers are all brand new. You guys can just crash here for the next few days!"

Su Chen clicked his tongue. He’d already noticed on the way up that this was the only villa on the peak of Baiyun Mountain. The courtyard alone was easily two or three hundred square meters, with outdoor swimming pools on either side.

The three-story villa itself looked to be at least a thousand square meters. Including the courtyard and pools, the total property was over two thousand square meters. In a place like Yangcheng City, where every inch of land is as precious as gold, it had to be worth at least several hundred million.

’And Ye Feng calls this "crashing here." Tsk, tsk... he’s even more of a big shot than I am. But then again, Ye Feng really has the wealth to back it up.’

Si Cong and Qin Fen nodded, then grabbed their bags and headed upstairs to pick out rooms.

Seeing that Su Chen hadn’t moved, Ye Feng knew he must have something to discuss.

And just as he expected... Su Chen pulled a white pack of cigarettes from his pocket and held it out to Ye Feng.

Ye Feng’s eyes widened slightly at the sight of the pack in Su Chen’s hand. He drew one out, lit it, and took two puffs before saying with feeling, "It’s been a while since I’ve had one of these. The last time was when I got a pack from my grandfather!"

"Haha. I grabbed a few cartons from Elder Xiao when I visited him a while back," Su Chen said casually, leaning back into the sofa.

But hearing this, Ye Feng was inwardly shaken. Even the hand holding his cigarette trembled slightly.

He knew exactly who Elder Xiao was, of course. He’d previously thought Su Chen was just good friends with Xiao Chen, but he’d never imagined Su Chen was on such good terms with Elder Xiao himself.

’Looks like I need to adjust my approach,’ Ye Feng thought to himself.

When his cigarette had burned halfway down, Su Chen finally sat up straight. He turned to Ye Feng and asked, "The Ye Group’s internal audit should be finished by now, right?"

Ye Feng was taken aback for a moment, but he quickly understood what Su Chen wanted to ask. After all, Su Chen had temporarily let the guy go for his sake.

"Yes, it’s finished."

Su Chen flicked the ash from his cigarette, his tone turning cold. "So, what was done with Ah Bu?"

Su Chen had handed Ah Bu over to Ye Feng because the man was still useful to him. But now that the Ye Group’s internal audit was over, that was no longer the case.

Su Chen had no intention of letting him off the hook that easily. This was the man who had tried to pull his mother’s oxygen mask off underwater. If Su Chen just let it go, did they take him for some Hello Kitty, a total pushover?

Hearing Su Chen’s icy tone, Ye Feng knew what he wanted. "The guy did a lot of things like that. We found five or six witnesses. He was sentenced to eight years and is already behind bars."

"Eight years? Isn’t that letting him off a little too lightly?" A ruthless glint flashed in Su Chen’s eyes.

Remembering the fates of those other people, Ye Feng fell silent... He only snapped out of it when his cigarette had burned all the way to the filter.

"The same as the others?" Ye Feng asked tentatively.

Su Chen gave a slight shake of his head and viciously stubbed his cigarette out in the ashtray. The moment he saw it, Ye Feng understood.

"Alright, I get it. Let me handle it. After all, I owe you for so many things." With that, he stood and headed outside, pulling his phone from his pocket.

Just as he reached the doorway, he heard Su Chen’s voice drift over again. "For some people, living is worse than death."

Hearing this, Ye Feng froze for a second before nodding to show he understood.

In less than two minutes, Ye Feng walked back in and gave Su Chen a nod, signaling that it was taken care of.

After sitting down, the two of them, with a silent understanding, didn’t bring the matter up again. They just found some other topic to chat about.

......

"What are you two chatting so happily about?"

Si Cong, having unpacked and changed his clothes, came downstairs to see Su Chen and Ye Feng laughing and talking on the sofa.

"Ye Feng was just bragging about how he went deep-sea fishing and caught a hundred-plus-pound fish. You believe that?" Su Chen asked with a grin.

Ye Feng also looked at Si Cong, seemingly waiting for his answer.

"Uh..." Si Cong scratched his head, looking conflicted. He didn’t know what to say. He didn’t believe it either; he’d been deep-sea fishing himself and knew what a struggle it was to land a hundred-plus-pound fish.

But that look from Ye Feng...

"Ahem! With Young Master Ye’s skills, a hundred-pound fish would be a piece of cake!" Si Cong said, laughing evasively.

Hearing this, the corners of Ye Feng’s mouth curled up. He shot a smug look at Su Chen.

Su Chen wasn’t bothered, just joking, "I just hope that hundred-pound catch you’re talking about isn’t a ’Red-Mouthed Alluring Carp’!"

At this, not only was Si Cong stunned, but even Ye Feng didn’t get it at first.

"’Red-Mouthed Alluring Carp’? You guys planning on having some fun tonight?" Qin Fen had come downstairs at some point and was now looking at everyone with eager anticipation.

Ye Feng and Si Cong, who were already confused, were now completely lost. What the hell was a "Red-Mouthed Alluring Carp"?
