From Trash to Treasure: The Sinclair Family's Beloved Genius
Chapter 493 - 490: You’ve Got Some Nerve
Even if God himself showed up today, she still had the right to refuse an interview!
Whether in her past life or this one, Chloe Sinclair detested nothing more than the media’s holier-than-thou attitude.
’She was a citizen. She had her own rights. As long as she hadn’t done anything wrong, what was the problem with refusing an interview?’
"Do you think everyone wants to be interviewed?"
"And you claim to represent the public and my fans? In that case, I’d love to ask: if my fans knew I was unwilling, would they still want me to do this interview?"
"Are you a state-affiliated news agency? If not, then on what grounds—and by what obligation—must I give you an interview?"
"You know I’ve already filed a police report, so why not wait for the official police statement? Why must you all skulk around a parking garage like a bunch of thieves, waiting to ambush someone? Do you really think this is appropriate behavior for members of the press?"
"If I wanted to update everyone on the situation, I’d tell my fans myself. You’re just using them as an excuse to act all high and mighty, aren’t you?"
Chloe Sinclair gave the reporters no chance to speak. She advanced on them step by step, backing them into a corner.
Suddenly, her gaze fell on the phone in the hands of a reporter from Orange Live, and her smile widened. "Heh, it seems you’re even livestreaming this."
Immediately, the look in Chloe Sinclair’s eyes shifted.
A flash of disgust was practically visible in her eyes. "Did I give you permission to stream this?"
The reporter from Orange Live was left speechless.
’Still, she didn’t feel she had done anything wrong.’
"We only wanted a quick interview. If you’re not willing, couldn’t you have just said so? Why do you have to be so aggressive?"
Her words seemed to jolt the others, and they too began to feel dissatisfied with Chloe Sinclair’s response.
"Yeah, we just wanted to interview you. We didn’t have any malicious intent."
Chloe Sinclair raised an eyebrow. "No malicious intent?"
She paused. Seeing the teeming crowd before her, none of whom showed a shred of guilt and instead acted completely entitled, she decided to drop the pleasantries.
She said harshly, "Invading my privacy without my consent *is* the greatest malicious intent! The moment I got out of the car, your shutters started clicking nonstop. You’re all reopening my wounds under the guise of ’concern.’ Is *that* what you call ’no malicious intent’? Do you call that polite?"
With that, Chloe Sinclair suddenly pulled out her own phone and snapped several photos of the reporter from Orange Live.
The reporter immediately panicked. "What are you doing! Did I say you could take my picture!"
The moment the words left her mouth, she froze.
Now, no one said a word. They all stared at Chloe Sinclair in horror.
Chloe Sinclair’s red lips parted, her tone chilling. "Do you get it now?"
Just then, Zane Jordan entered with a group of well-trained security guards.
Jasper Shaw’s expression was grim. He ordered bluntly, "Throw these people out."
At that, the reporters finally panicked.
The bodyguards from Jasper Shaw’s company were well-trained, each one tall and imposing. You could tell at a glance that they were skilled fighters.
Each guard grabbed an unauthorized person and dragged them out.
And so, the viewers in the livestream witnessed a truly bizarre scene.
"Holy shit, are they really throwing them out?"
"They’re actually throwing them out?"
"Of course they’re throwing them out. What, should they invite them home for the holidays?"
"Jasper Shaw graduated from Emberfall University, for crying out loud. Why is he so crass? Does he have to be so insulting?"
"Yeah, one of the reporters was even crying just now!"
"Seriously? So crying automatically makes them right?"
