From Trash to Treasure: The Sinclair Family's Beloved Genius
Chapter 439 - 434: Sold Out
"What do we do with what’s left over?"
We had sold quite a few thanks to the fans’ support.
But all that was left now were the ones that didn’t look very good.
They waited for half an hour without making a single sale.
Their initial joy was quickly doused by the current lull.
"What if we can’t sell the rest of these?"
Since Chloe Sinclair had been the one selling the radishes all day, the other two women instinctively turned to her.
For some reason, the young woman before them gave them a sense of security.
It felt like even if the sky were falling, she would be there to hold it up.
"Let’s wait a bit longer."
The two of them immediately felt at ease.
Even though they were decades older than Chloe Sinclair, her simple nod of assurance was enough to lift a huge weight from their shoulders.
After another half hour, the market had mostly emptied out.
"What should we do? There’s no one left."
Jessica Ford watched as the number of people in the market dwindled. People would walk past their stall without even sparing it a glance.
Chloe Sinclair frowned.
’Just waiting around won’t work.’
Just as she was trying to think of a plan, Chloe Sinclair suddenly said, "Sis, can you go check on how my brother’s team is doing?"
Jessica Ford was taken aback. Hearing Chloe call her ’Sis’ made her heart melt; how could she possibly refuse?
The market in town wasn’t very big, so Jessica Ford quickly found the other team’s stall.
To her surprise, their team had nearly sold out of radishes.
All that was left was about a hundred pounds of the misshapen ones.
When Jessica Ford returned, she told Chloe Sinclair what she’d seen.
Hearing this, a plan began to form in Chloe Sinclair’s mind.
"I’m going to head over for a minute. Could you two please watch the stall while I’m gone?"
"Okay."
With that, Chloe Sinclair strolled over leisurely.
She walked very slowly, as if observing something.
By the time she reached the stall where Gabriel Sinclair and the others were, they had sold even more.
Chloe Sinclair couldn’t help but remark, "As expected of a huge star. You’re selling them so fast."
Jessica Ford had just said they had a basket left, but by the time she got here, much more had been sold.
Gabriel Sinclair chuckled.
The comment immediately set Nina Sinclair’s mind racing.
"Chloe, Gabriel has been exhausted all day. He, Mr. Hollis, and Mr. Beckett had to shout and hawk their wares to sell almost everything. Don’t tell me you’re worried about losing face because we sold more than you?"
Chloe Sinclair smiled. "I just came to take a look. But with Mr. Hollis and my brother working so hard, you must have been very busy too, right?"
Nina Sinclair’s expression instantly stiffened.
She only then realized that Chloe Sinclair was setting a trap for her.
She was on a team full of men and had figured she could get away with slacking off today. And that’s exactly what she did.
As a result, she’d had an incredibly relaxing day and had just gotten back from a shopping trip.
She could clearly feel the hostility in Chloe Sinclair’s words.
The thought that they were currently live-streaming made her instantly tense up.
"The gentlemen were considerate and let me rest today. After all, I did so much work yesterday."
Yesterday, just sweeping her room had taken her an hour or two.
Dust was even falling from the walls while she slept last night.
She’d spent the whole night sleeping fitfully.
Chloe Sinclair raised an eyebrow and smiled, ignoring Nina Sinclair completely.
She turned her gaze to her older brother and asked curiously, "Bro, how did you sell them so fast?"
Gabriel Sinclair grinned. "We set our price lower than everyone else, so of course more people bought from us."
After speaking, he still had that ’hurry up and praise me’ look on his face.
Chloe Sinclair paused for a moment, as if digesting what he had just said.
She asked, a little uncertainly, "You said you sold them for less... exactly how much were you selling them for?"
Gabriel Sinclair immediately flashed a big, toothy grin. "Didn’t Director Lawson say the minimum was thirty cents a pound? So I sold them for thirty cents."
He glanced at the remaining radishes and added, "But these leftover ones are really hard to sell, so we talked it over and decided to sell them for twenty cents a pound."
Chloe Sinclair: "..."
’She was starting to think Gabriel Sinclair was like the rich man’s foolish son.’
"Bro, yesterday you spent half an hour pulling twenty pounds of radishes. And for those twenty pounds, you only made four dollars."
After factoring in the costs, Gabriel Sinclair’s hourly wage for his labor wasn’t even fifty cents.
"Also, Director Lawson said the minimum price was thirty cents a pound. You sold the last basket for twenty cents, so you didn’t even meet the minimum requirement."
Just a moment ago, Gabriel Sinclair had been proud of how much he’d sold.
But after listening to his little sister’s analysis, he realized... he really had taken a loss!
