"Whoa!"
After two active personality shifts outside of the game, Motan was feeling dizzy and nearly rolled off the bed. He managed to sit up slowly, lying on the bed with his head buried in a pillow, as if avoiding reality for about five minutes, before weakly mumbling: "What a mess..."
Clearly, aside from physical discomfort, his thoughts were also unsettled. The reason was naturally due to not long ago, when Double Leaf returned, he obviously pulled ’himself’ into the bedroom even when not sleepy, trying to get ’himself’ to hold a certain good woman while sleeping.
Diana A. Achizolti, as for this Grand Astrologist, Motan was filled with guilt. First, it was because ’he’ let himself go completely, causing her almost to lose herself; then, it was because she wholeheartedly dedicated herself to Frank Hughes, a person who never even existed, despite having already grasped the truth entirely.
She knew everything yet still willingly gave her all for that ephemeral illusion, doing everything he hoped she would, even going the extra mile in ways he hadn’t even imagined.
When it was time to cooperate with him in the performance, she unwaveringly played the role he wanted her to play, accommodating Frank Hughes almost without limits, even off-stage.
This relationship was twisted from the start, something Diana understood all too well.
Yet, in such circumstances, she did nothing against the one whose intentions were clear to get close to her, instead continuously offering her genuine heart.
She was not deceived; she chose to trust and help an absolutely untrustworthy person while fully conscious.
Such feelings may bring joy to Motan under his ’chaotic neutral’ personality, but at this moment, it was undeniably a torment in his eyes.
And more frustratingly, he felt powerless to resist or improve this torment, needing instead to exploit Diana’s contributions to the fullest in another identity.
Motan knew very well, from an outcome perspective, he had just received an exceptionally good news.
He shook his head, exhaled deeply, and walked slowly to the window, gazing at the bright starlit sky while sinking into his thoughts, filled with bitterness.
Then——
"Yo!"
Suddenly, a breathtakingly beautiful, flawless face appeared before him, knocking him out of his senses and causing Motan to fall back on the ground.
"Night Song..."
With a bitter smile, Motan stood up cautiously, maintaining a few meters distance from the winged beautiful girl hovering outside his window, shaking his head helplessly: "Your entrance is quite unique, don’t do it like that next time."
The girl sitting sideways on the window edge let out a chuckle, folded her pure white wings, and made a funny face: "You got scared already? Your courage must be too small."
"It’s not about being timid or not."
Motan casually pulled over a chair in his room and sat on it (because he has a tail), resting on the back of the chair and shaking his head: "It’s just that you are impactful enough already, if you suddenly pop up, anyone would be unsettled."
Gently shaking her ankle-length, black silky hair, Ji Xiaoge wrinkled her nose: "Are you saying I look ugly?"
"You know I can only speak the truth, right?"
Motan smiled slightly, shrugged: "Do you just like hearing people praise your looks?"
"It depends, I like hearing it from someone I play well with, like you."
Ji Xiaoge agilely jumped into the room, took off her short boots unabashedly, and sat cross-legged on Motan’s bed, cheerfully saying: "You seem very busy these days, logging in so late today, and not showing up at all yesterday, aren’t you afraid Jadka and Ya Ya would be worried?"
Motan awkwardly rubbed his nose, smiling wryly: "They already know we’re Otherworlders, so I guess it’s fine."
"That’s true, but if you keep not showing up, Ya Ya might feel lonely."
Ji Xiaoge hugged her long legs, rested her chin on her knees, and earnestly said: "Don’t forget, although Old Jia has many acquaintances here, Ya Ya doesn’t. Spend more time with her, I won’t get jealous."
"Huh?"
Motan froze for a moment, bewildered: "You won’t what?"
"I won’t get jealous, what’s wrong?"
Ji Xiaoge blinked twice, full of puzzlement: "We don’t have some kind of strange relationship, why should I be jealous?"
Motan twitched his mouth, gradually getting accustomed to the whimsical mindset of the winged girl in front. He nodded: "You’re right... it’s just that, putting it in this context is a bit odd..."
"Anyone who obsesses over details is an idiot."
Ji Xiaoge laughed heartily, waved her small hand, indicating that this wasn’t something worth seriously pondering. Then she opened her wings behind her, wrapped them around herself like a badminton shuttlecock, revealing only her head while blinking happily: "Speaking of which, you didn’t forget about tomorrow, did you? You’re supposed to go play with Yu Chen and the others, remember?"
