Chapter 2141 - 1702: Why Is Your Majesty Rebelling?
Chapter 2141: Chapter 1702: Why Is Your Majesty Rebelling?
What is happening? Where did these ghosts come from? The same question appeared in the minds of all members of the Ghost Council.
The Ghost Council has a total of nine members, they control nine votes, and as long as more than half of the votes are cast, the proposal can be passed.
The proposals vary in size, but ordinary ones are not brought to the Ghost Council for a vote, so the council basically only deals with one type of proposal—activating the Ghost Array.
Every activation of the Ghost Array leads to the destruction of a God Star; one could say that the Ghost Council holds the most powerful weapon in the Void.
But now, this supreme force is inexplicably diminishing, and the nodes of the attacking array are being targeted by a group of Ghost Guides? Their first reaction was rebellion.
However, as soon as this idea came up, it was too absurd and they forcefully extinguished it.
"Rebellion? How could it be a rebellion? Who among you would take the lives of two hundred Ghost Guides? There are six energy nodes here. Two hundred per node, totaling twelve hundred guides; if you told me they were sent by the array itself, I’d believe it. Is the array rebelling against itself?" the third council member retorted loudly.
This made a lot of sense, much like the Emperor sending imperial guards to revolt against himself, making everyone suspicious if the array was sent out to suppress them, while the council might actually be the villains.
"What should we do now?" The nine members looked at each other; this kind of situation had never been encountered since the Ghost Council was founded.
Finally, they made a difficult decision: "We can’t handle this matter, report to the Ghost Venerable."
The so-called Ghost Venerable naturally referred to the Exotic Ghost; the external and internal codes were traditionally inconsistent, after all, external titles needed to have a deterrent effect, while internal codes required respect.
But they didn’t need to report anymore as the inquiry from the Exotic Ghost had already arrived: "What is happening? Why is the energy depletion so significant?"
The council chairman hurriedly responded: "Six energy nodes were destroyed by a group of Ghost Guides, Venerable, are they your people?"
The Exotic Ghost angrily retorted: "Nonsense, why would I send people to destroy energy nodes? A group? How large a group?"
"Twelve hundred people," the chairman replied.
The Exotic Ghost grew even angrier: "Absurd, even when combined, there aren’t twelve hundred Ghost Guides in the entire Void; where would I find twelve hundred ghosts to destroy my own energy nodes?"
When the Exotic Ghost repeated this from itself, it was filled with a sense of absurdity. Cutting one’s own energy nodes? There’s not even twelve hundred ghosts to attempt such a thing.
Originally thinking this was a hoax, upon projecting and observing, there really were twelve hundred ghosts.
Yet, with one glance, the Exotic Ghost discerned the issue with these ghosts: uniform expressions, well-trained, organized, clean actions like war machines—this was a batch of war machines created from ghosts.
"Thankfully, thankfully, they’re war machines, not rebellion," the fourth council member sighed with relief.
The chairman angrily scolded: "Fool, this is even scarier, alright."
Rebellion is within their understanding; if the sudden appearance of over twelve hundred unknown Ghost Guides is the real horror, it means these entities are beyond their comprehension, with someone else wielding similar power.
If there are this many ghost outsiders, might there be external Ghost Arrays? If so, they wouldn’t be the sole holders of the most powerful weapon - the Ghost Council.
After observing for a while, the Exotic Ghost reached another conclusion: "Their combat power is stronger, cooperation is better, like a single entity."
This further confirmed the Exotic Ghost’s war machine speculation.
Observing further, the Exotic Ghost reached a third conclusion: "These war machines cannot guide Exotic Ghosts; they are too rigid, don’t even flee, when faced with unavoidable attacks, their first response isn’t to escape but to take risks to create attack opportunities for teammates. Such reckless war machines can hardly guide Exotic Ghost attacks."
All the council members looked at each other: "Is it possible they’re not meant to guide attacks but are specifically designed for combat?"
This speculation made everyone more anxious; specifically combat forces are regular troops, are they truly the villains? Others have even dispatched regular troops.
Even the Exotic Ghost couldn’t help but self-doubt: could there really be a second team executing the same mission?
Regardless of suspicion or anxiety, nothing could stop the fast decline in energy intensity of the Ghost Array; the Exotic Ghost dared not wait and resolutely commanded: "Deploy the Dark Star Beasts."
The chairman hurriedly asked: "Really deploy the Dark Star Beasts? Our soul suppression on them isn’t firm, what if they lose control?"
The Exotic Ghost angrily responded: "Tell them, if they lose control, I will shatter their Star Souls."
Unable to handle enemies, but surely can handle you?
The Exotic Ghost’s attack has additional damage to God Star’s Star Soul; coupled with the notorious reputation, it doesn’t fear those Dark Star Beasts losing control because losing control means death.
Though soul suppression isn’t firm, they find it hard to break free; if they stall because of breaking free, they absolutely cannot evade Ghost Array’s attacks.
The warden didn’t hesitate anymore, rushing to issue orders.
Within the gigantic hexagonal plane, seven Rock Giant Beasts with bodies flickering with purple Thunder slowly crawl up from a thick rift.
Each Rock Giant Beast has a body length of over ten thousand kilometers, roughly the same height as Ange now, but the size is much larger by many times, and a Rock Giant Beast’s arm is as thick as a skeleton’s body.
These Rock Giant Beasts flickering with purple Thunder crawl out of the trench, reluctantly glancing at the center of the array, then quickly lined up and flew toward the energy node at the edge.
Star Bridge, a collective rapid movement method for multiple God Stars, these Rock Giant Beasts are not living entities, but rather God Stars or Dark Stars, somehow transforming themselves into Rock Giant Beasts.
Under the acceleration of the Star Bridge, the Rock Giant Beasts swiftly arrived at the energy node, where two hundred Ghost Angels were vigorously attacking the peak.
As one of the Ghost Array’s energy nodes, the energy level of this peak is exceedingly high, comparable to Star Bones, without Star Power before, it’s merely Black Crystal Bone, with Star Power, it becomes an indestructible Star Body.
This energy node is similar, before exhausting its energy, it’s an indestructible Energy Peak.
But don’t worry, while it cannot destroy the node at this moment, the array is a precisely operating energy system, the instability of the energy node significantly impacts the array’s operation, furthermore, the attack depletes the node’s energy, indirectly consuming the array’s energy.
The Rock Giant Beasts quickly spread out, shifted from a line to a row, collectively opening their Big Mouths toward the Ghost Angels—Shattering Star Roar.
