Chapter 2139: Chapter 1700: Can’t Smash It? Call for Help
Such a powerful energy reaction—looks like the Ghost Array is starting to run. Did the Exotic Ghosts find them and are now booting up the array to attack?
Under the influence of Anthony, this Dark Knight Emperor, Ange and the others already forgot what frontal combat is supposed to look like. For any battle plan, target number one is always: hide your strength, keep yourself alive.
As long as there’s any scheme they can use, they absolutely will not fight head-on. Whether it’s infiltration or disguise, they’ve mastered it to a ridiculous level, so much so that even Ange and Negris will instinctively cooperate.
When they came over, they had already turned off all the light effects on the Star Lord’s Chariot and masked all fluctuations. With Ange deliberately hiding their presence, spotting them really isn’t an easy job.
But the Ghost Array is already spinning up and charging. Whether they’ve been discovered or not, they have to avoid its spearhead.
"Avoid? You want me to avoid its spearhead? Avoid my ass—I came here today specifically to smash their setup. Where’s the highest energy point of the array?" Hearing Anthony’s arrangement, the Monarch immediately refused on the spot.
The Monarch’s combat style is basically: if there’s a chance, he goes; if there’s no chance, he makes one and still goes. He rushes in, hacks around wildly, and only after he’s done asks, "Anyone else?"
But he just had to run into an Old Godman like Anthony, and on top of that a Dark Knight Emperor, who will always go for a sneaky sap to the back over a straight-up brawl. It’s much safer, sure, but the fight drags on and on, completely not satisfying.
That’s also one of the reasons the Monarch quietly ran off on his own before.
It’s just more fun solo—you feel like cutting someone, you cut; if you can’t win, you run. Why bother with so many schemes and plots? Too many steps, just thinking about it makes his brain hurt.
Right now Anthony clearly wants to roll out his whole set of tricks again, but in this situation, if they keep carefully plotting, they’ll definitely miss the initiative.
The other side is using the array. Whether or not they know these guys are here, activating the array takes time.
Only by attacking before the array fully spins up can they seize the initiative. If they step aside now and wait for the array to go live, and it really is aimed at them, they’ll have to take the full brunt of its power.
After listening to the Monarch, Anthony and Wolfsman exchanged a look, then made a snap decision: "Your Majesty is right. We came to smash their setup; we can’t let them get ready. The highest energy reaction node of the array is the central position. Your Majesty, go destroy that. Everyone else head for the six corners of the hexagon and smash those mountains."
Anthony likes doing things with plenty of preparation—not because he’s cowardly, but because that’s how you stay alive.
In those thousand-plus years of infiltrating the Church of Light, completing the mission was never the top priority—staying alive was. So for anything he does, Anthony’s habit is: survival first.
The plans he makes tend to be conservative, and not only does he have a plan, he has backup plans, making sure that if the main plan fails, there’s a second option to stay alive.
But after the Monarch shot down his "evade and avoid" plan, he also snapped out of it.
They show up here and immediately see the other side’s array running—this is clearly a straight-up encounter. In an encounter, naturally the Hero wins and the coward loses. Evading will only let the enemy grab the initiative and crank the array to the max. In comparison, going straight in is better.
Realizing this, not only did he not stop the Monarch, he threw all his strength into it. They’re not just going to smash the highest-energy node—they’re going to wreck all six corners of the array.
Any array, no matter what kind, can’t get around energy input and output. The highest energy reaction node might be the output component; the energy intensity of the other six mountain peaks is a bit weaker, but still a lot higher than all the other grooves, lines, and such in the array. They’re very likely the energy input nodes. Smash those, and the array probably loses its energy supply.
The Monarch had already prepared to act alone, but he didn’t expect Anthony to immediately change his plan. That made him look at Anthony a bit more favorably. He nodded and said, "All right, I’m going."
The Monarch went to smash the central output node. The others went to smash the mountain peaks at the six corners, leaving only Ange and Negris on the field.
The area of the hexagonal plane was just too large. Negris’s vision couldn’t cover the mountain positions at all, so he could only share Ange’s Vision, and asked worriedly, "Is this okay? Just those few, can they really smash those mountains? Those are energy input nodes."
Energy input nodes naturally carry huge amounts of energy. If the energy intensity is very high, Anthony and the others going in is basically moths flying into a Fireball Technique—they could easily burn themselves to a crisp.
Ange paused the Space-Time Domain he was fiddling with, scratched his head, and said, "If they can’t smash it, they’ll yell ’Lord, Help Me.’"
Negris relaxed. "True. That guy Anthony, the moment there’s danger he yells ’Lord, Help Me.’ If they can’t hit through, they’ll definitely call for you to save them."
Back then Ange’s combat style was pretty similar to the Monarch’s. He liked going face-first, drowning enemies in endless Magic, or transforming into the Dragon God or Locke and blowing the enemy up with one punch.
But ever since he had Anthony, he doesn’t need to worry about all these schemes and plots. All he has to do is give Anthony a heads-up when it’s time to fight, or yell ’Lord, Help Me.’ Otherwise his combat style would probably be just as direct as the Monarch’s.
Anyway, with Anthony handling all the arrangements, Ange can peacefully immerse himself in tinkering with his Space-Time Domain.
The Rui Plate below is a super massive flat plane. Farming on it is the easiest—once he solves the soil and low-temperature issues and finds suitable seeds, he can cover all the planes with crops. ℯℯ𝑙.
But flat planes are the least challenging terrain. In the Square World, he hasn’t set a single plain. There are all kinds of high-difficulty terrains, but the simplest terrain is the only one missing.
So now he needs to first build a sample inside the Square World, lay everything out properly, then use Spit melon to spray seeds across the hexagonal plane—simple and efficient.
It wasn’t long before, one after another, cries popped up in the Soul Network: "Lord, Help Me!"
Sure enough, with just Anthony and the others’ strength, there was no way to shake the energy nodes of the Ghost Array.
This Ghost Array has already transcended the usual concept of an array. It’s built on the entire hexagonal plane, using trench lines like mountain ranges and rift valleys as strokes. A single hexagonal plane can fit several of those Branch Lord God Stars like Lania’s.
For such a colossal array, the energy needed to run it is god knows how massive—at the very least, it’s at Divine Star Level.
For a Divine Star Level array’s energy nodes, having just Anthony and the others try to destroy them is still way too hard. It’s like giving a farmer a hoe and asking him to dig through an entire Plane.
He’d long anticipated this. So when everyone shouted ’Lord, Help Me,’ Ange immediately projected over, opened up the Space-Time Domain, pulled out two hundred Ghost Angels, then projected to another location.
Six corners, six energy nodes. He dropped two hundred Ghost Angels on each node, and in less than ten minutes, the first energy node was destroyed.
