Chapter 2058: Chapter 2057: When Did I Offend You
Ou Yihan watched Wen Jin turn and leave, the adoration and anticipation in her eyes swiftly receding like the tide.
A wave of disappointment spread through her heart…
In such a scenario just now, if it were any other man, wouldn’t he have kissed her?
But she encountered a true gentleman.
Thinking of how Wen Jin had never been in a relationship before, Ou Yihan comforted herself.
It’s because Wen Jin doesn’t understand these things, so he’s not romantic in that way, and he’s not as frivolous as other men.
She should be happy, not disappointed.
If Wen Jin were the kind of man who held hands on the first date, kissed on the second, and went straight to bed on the third, she would have been the one scared away.
With that thought, she felt relieved.
Ou Yihan smiled and cheerfully said, “Then I’ll go change in my room first, and I’ll see you off in a bit.”

At six in the afternoon, the setting sun was slowly disappearing from the horizon, and the light of the sunset was growing dimmer.
Jing Xiaocha and Zhang Minghui got off the bus, their shadows elongated and overlapped by the sunset glow.
“Auntie, I’ll help you cook dinner tonight.”
Zhang Minghui looked up at Jing Xiaocha, speaking as he walked forward.
Jing Xiaocha gave a gentle smile, “You don’t need to help with the cooking, just focus on finishing your homework well.”
The sound of a message notification, Jing Xiaocha lowered her head to take out her phone.
It was a promotional message from a newly opened dealership, and Zhang Minghui leaned over to look, “Auntie, are you going to buy a car?”
“Where would I find the money to buy a car?”
Jing Xiaocha looked at Zhang Minghui’s bright eyes with amusement.
“Auntie, when I grow up, I’ll buy you a car.”
Zhang Minghui raised his eyebrows, confidently promising.
No matter if a child has that ability or not, the fact that he says such things still comforted Jing Xiaocha.
She reached out to pat his head but remembered he had previously asked her not to do that anymore.
Jing Xiaocha’s hand shifted to pat his shoulder, “Alright, Auntie will wait for the day when you grow up and earn money to buy me a car.”
“Auntie, Uncle Wen.”
Zhang Minghui’s voice suddenly carried excitement as he pointed toward the side of the road ahead.
Jing Xiaocha paused slightly, looked up in the direction Zhang Minghui was pointing.
Sure enough, she saw Wen Jin getting out of the car.
Her heart skipped a beat uncontrollably.
Jing Xiaocha instinctively pressed her lips together, lowering her head guiltily when she saw Wen Jin looking their way.
Earlier this afternoon, she didn’t answer the two calls from Wen Jin.
Firstly because Zheng Shirui had upset her mood, making her extremely agitated.
Secondly, because Shi Tian had shown up at her place, Jing Xiaocha suspected, could it be that Ou Yihan had told Shi Tian her address with Wen Jin’s consent?
She couldn’t help being a bit mad at him.
So she stubbornly ignored his calls.
Wen Jin happened to catch Jing Xiaocha’s panicked, lowered gaze.
His eyes flickered slightly, hands in his pockets, standing there waiting for them to approach.
Where he got out of the car was right outside the apartment where Jing Xiaocha lived.
As long as Jing Xiaocha and Zhang Minghui headed back to the apartment, they would definitely come up to him.
Even if Jing Xiaocha lowered her head, she could feel Wen Jin’s gaze on her from ahead.
She quickly thought, wasn’t he supposed to be on vacation? Why did he suddenly return?
He was driving his own car, not a taxi, and had no luggage in hand; he didn’t look like someone who’d just rushed back from out of town.
Thinking about this, Jing Xiaocha smirked self-deprecatingly.
How could Brother Wen possibly come back from out of town just because she didn’t answer his call, to confront her?
He’s probably having fun on his vacation with his girlfriend.
Lost in her thoughts, she found herself in front of someone, and a familiar deep voice came over her head, accompanied by a familiar scent, snapping her back to reality.
Raising her head, her gaze met his pitch-black eyes, deep like an abyss with no end in sight. She stared at him blankly, forgetting to react.
“Uncle Wen, did you specially come to see Auntie and me?”
Having not seen Wen Jin for many days, Zhang Minghui was very excited, looking at him with shining eyes.
Wen Jin gave him a slight smile, turned to open the car door, and took out a bag to hand to him.
He spoke gently, “I got you a gift, give me your bag, I’ll carry it for you.”
Zhang Minghui’s eyes lit up, he cheerfully said, “Thank you, Uncle Wen,” handed over his schoolbag, and eagerly opened the bag to see the gift inside.
Wen Jin shifted his gaze from Zhang Minghui to Jing Xiaocha, “Did you not have your phone with you?”
“Huh?”
Jing Xiaocha played dumb, looking innocently at Wen Jin.
In her heart, she was thinking, weren’t we still angry?
Why is it always like this, when she’s mad, Wen Jin ignores her for days, then suddenly shows up like nothing happened.
Does he know that she hasn’t forgotten the unpleasantness just because a few days have passed?
Still feeling miffed about the last incident.
Wen Jin’s gaze stayed on her for two seconds.
Seeing Zhang Minghui pull out the gift from the bag, he said nonchalantly, “Little Hui, run ahead and open the door.”
Zhang Minghui immediately responded, “Okay,” and reached out to his aunt, “Auntie, give me the key.”
Jing Xiaocha knew Wen Jin wanted to talk.
He never discussed serious matters in front of Zhang Minghui and handed the key to Zhang Minghui, “Go home and do your homework first.”
Zhang Minghui blinked, his eyes darting between Wen Jin and Jing Xiaocha, and asked Wen Jin to give him back his schoolbag.
Wen Jin chuckled and handed the schoolbag back to Zhang Minghui.
Zhang Minghui, carrying the schoolbag and his gift, ran happily towards the apartment, singing.
Jing Xiaocha and Wen Jin didn’t enter but stayed outside.
Now that it was just the two of them, the atmosphere around them subtly changed.
“Why didn’t you answer my calls this afternoon, I called twice and you didn’t pick up?”
Wen Jin’s earlier question, Jing Xiaocha had dodged, but this time, Wen Jin asked directly, giving her no chance to avoid it.
Jing Xiaocha’s eyes flickered as she averted his gaze, looking elsewhere, “I was in the study this afternoon, and my phone was in the living room, so I didn’t hear it.”
“Was it that you didn’t hear it, or that you didn’t want to answer my calls?”
Wen Jin didn’t believe her answer.
Jing Xiaocha smiled insincerely, looking back at Wen Jin, “How could that be? If I didn’t answer anyone’s call, it wouldn’t be Brother Wen’s call.”
“Are you still upset about last time?”
Wen Jin’s sudden change of topic left Jing Xiaocha unable to maintain her forced smile.
Thinking of Shi Tian showing up at her home that afternoon, her face turned serious, “Yes, I’m upset, but not because of last time, it’s because of this time.”
Wen Jin’s eyes flashed with puzzlement, “What do you mean by this time? When did I offend you again?”
