Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1352: 1351 wants to kiss you

Chapter 1352: 1351 wants to kiss you

Bai Yiyi lounged lazily on the sofa, one arm resting on its edge, her chin propped up by her hand as she watched Gu Kai’s reaction with satisfaction.

When his gaze swept toward her, she smiled innocently and parted her red lips lightly. “You’re the one who insisted. You said to charge a hundred bucks for making you dinner. I told you before—it’s limited edition and very expensive.”

“Ten bucks for a single noodle?”

Gu Kai sneered as he picked up a noodle with his chopsticks, showing it to her.

“Where?”

Bai Yiyi frowned and shook her head with amused disbelief, leaned forward slightly to sit up, and studied the noodles in his bowl. “The cost of these noodles is one buck. The remaining ninety-nine bucks? Labor fee.”

“Bai Yiyi, why don’t you just go rob someone?”

Gu Kai’s gaze swept across her chest and locked onto the area around her heart. He had this urge to dig it out and see what color it was.

“You agreed yourself. If you don’t want to eat, forget it.” As she spoke, Bai Yiyi opened the drawer in front of her, pulled out a coin, and handed it to him. “If you don’t eat it, I’ll refund you one dollar.”

“Going to feed it to the stray dogs again?”

Gu Kai caught her words, the same line she’d used last time.

Bai Yiyi shook her head. “How could I? Right now, you’re at least my boyfriend. You can’t possibly rank lower than a stray dog.”

Gu Kai laughed in exasperation. “Fine. Given that you still remember I’m your boyfriend, I’ll just suck it up and eat this bowl of noodles. But before eating the noodles—”

He suddenly stopped mid-sentence.

Bai Yiyi waited for a moment. When he didn’t continue, she instead felt his gaze fix on her, intense like he’d spotted prey.

Her heart skipped a beat.

A sense of foreboding began to rise from within, instinctively prompting her to try and distance herself from him.

Just as she started to get up, Gu Kai yanked her back onto the sofa, his large hand gripping her head as he lowered himself to kiss her. His husky voice blended with the heat of his masculine aura as he parted her lips. “I’ll eat you first.”

“Mmm—”

Bai Yiyi’s heart skipped a beat as her wide, startled eyes filled with indignation. This damned man.

The sound of the kitchen door opening broke the moment. The housemaid’s voice followed. “Miss Bai, the chicken drumsticks—oh, I’m so sorry, I didn’t see anything.”

The housemaid hadn’t realized she’d walked in on an intense kiss in the living room. She immediately turned redder than Gu Kai and Bai Yiyi, stammering awkwardly.

Bai Yiyi pushed Gu Kai away and glared at him fiercely before turning her attention to the housemaid, who was now covering her eyes with both hands. “Alright, go to your room and rest.”

Hearing her instruction, the housemaid lowered her hands, nodded quickly, and scurried back to her room.

Gu Kai looked at Bai Yiyi’s annoyed face and chuckled. “I didn’t know she’d be in the kitchen. If you’d told me earlier, it wouldn’t have been just the bowl of noodles—I might not have had to eat you either.”

Bai Yiyi shot him a sharp glare before rising and heading toward the kitchen.

Gu Kai raised a hand to rub his nose and, watching her retreat, followed her into the kitchen. Closing the door behind him, he pulled her into his arms and softly called, “Yiyi.”

“Let go. I’m getting food for you.”

Bai Yiyi’s heart was still racing from the kiss earlier, and now with him chasing her into the kitchen, she couldn’t help but feel nervous. Their gazes met briefly before she looked away again.

“I still want to kiss you.”

Gu Kai’s eyes focused on her lips, which were now flushed and enticing after being kissed. His words dropped softly as he leaned down and whispered, “Close your eyes.”

Bai Yiyi felt her heart tremble.

She thought she must be crazy to obediently close her eyes, letting his warm, thin lips press against hers…

The next morning, Bai Yiyi woke up and suddenly remembered she had forgotten to tell Gu Kai something important the night before.

That second kiss in the kitchen had nearly escalated beyond control. Both of them had been swept away with desire, but in the end, Gu Kai had stopped himself.

Bai Yiyi had pitied him for the restraint written all over his face.

She lowered her gaze in hesitation before raising her head to say something—but by then, Gu Kai had already composed himself.

Probably because of that kiss, Gu Kai had later told her to go upstairs to sleep. He ate alone after that. Bai Yiyi, afraid that staying with him might lead them to something irreversible, had indeed gone upstairs to sleep.

Thinking about his fiery, wild kiss the previous night, Bai Yiyi’s heartbeat once again went amiss. She reached up to touch her flushed cheeks and closed her eyes lightly, stopping herself from replaying the thoughts.

Suddenly, her phone rang.

Bai Yiyi lowered her hands from her face, picked up the phone, and answered, “Hello.”

“I can’t spend the weekend with you and Tongtong today. I need to rush to the hospital now. You hang out with Tongtong, and call me if anything comes up.”

“Okay.”

Bai Yiyi responded softly.

Gu Kai seemed to be in a hurry to leave for the hospital and didn’t say much to Bai Yiyi before hanging up.

Prison hospital.

When Gu Kai arrived, Lu Zhiyan was standing outside the hospital building, talking to a prison officer.

He got out of the car, strode over, and called out, “Zhiyan.”

“Ah Kai, you’re finally here. Come on, let’s go see if that guy’s still salvageable.”

“Alright.”

The two of them entered the hospital and made their way to the ward. On the bed lay Li En, pale and weak. However, upon seeing Gu Kai enter, it seemed as if Li En regained some vitality.

The doctor standing by the bedside saw Gu Kai approach and immediately stepped back two paces.

“Gu Kai, you finally came to see me.” Anyone unaware of the full story would’ve thought Li En had attempted suicide because Gu Kai had refused to visit him…

Gu Kai’s expression shifted slightly. “What do you mean by that?”

“So Lu Zhiyan never told you? I wanted to see you,” Li En sneered, glancing at Lu Zhiyan, whose face darkened as he instructed the two doctors and nurses at the bedside:

“Leave us for now.”

At his order, the medical staff left the room.

Now, only Lu Zhiyan, Gu Kai, and Li En, who was hooked to an IV, remained in the ward.

Gu Kai’s thin lips pressed together as he spoke coldly. “You went through all this trouble just to see me? Well, now you can talk.”

Earlier, Lu Zhiyan had only told Gu Kai that Li En had attempted suicide, asking him to come over.

Gu Kai hadn’t been informed that Li En had specifically requested to see him.

Shouldn’t the person Li En wanted to meet be Bai Yiyi?

At the thought of this, the coldness in Gu Kai’s eyes intensified, his gaze sharp as he stared at the pale-faced Li En on the bed.

“Are you with Bai Yiyi?”

“You came to see me just to ask that?” Gu Kai scoffed, his eyes filled with mocking disdain.

Li En seemed indifferent, as if failing to notice the derision in Gu Kai’s eyes. “I truly want to escape. But before I do, I need to tell you a secret.”

“What secret?”

Gu Kai’s tone was disinterested, bordering on dismissive.

“A secret that concerns your happiness with Bai Yiyi.” Li En’s lips curled up in a cold smile.
