Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1341: 1340 Kill without mercy

Chapter 1341: 1340 Kill without mercy

The atmosphere in the private room turned strange for a moment.

Fang Zhiwei’s words—whether they were meant to test the waters or were just an offhanded joke—were unclear.

A glint of sharpness flashed in Mo Xiuchen’s gaze. He glanced at Gu Kai and then said to Wen Ran, “Ranran, Ah Feng went on a business trip to D Country this afternoon.”

“Huh, he went to D Country?” Wen Ran was startled.

Over there, Fang Zhiwei’s topic was interrupted by Mo Xiuchen’s words. Wen Jin curved his lips into a smile and followed up, “Could it be that Ah Feng went to D Country to see Xiaoxiao? How long will he be gone?”

“Xiaoxiao and he have already lost contact with each other.” Wen Ran blinked and furrowed her brows slightly.

Bai Yiyi asked with concern, “Is that Qi Meiling still not awake?”

“No, and even if she wakes up, Ah Feng has nothing to do with her anymore.”

Wen Ran let out a light sigh. “Matters of the heart can’t be forced. I hope that even if Qi Meiling wakes up, she won’t keep up the pointless entanglements. After all, she and Luo Haofeng grew up as childhood friends. If it weren’t for what happened, at least they could still be friends.”

“That Qi Meiling is so annoying. She should learn from me. I used to like Ranran so much, but haven’t I let go now?”

Mo Zixuan raised his brows proudly, like a child waiting for everyone’s praise.

Mo Xiuchen’s lips twitched. He shot him a warning look, to which Mo Zixuan pretended to act scared and said, “Mo Xiuchen, don’t look at me like that. I only have pure friendship with Ranran now.”

Gu Kai said with amusement, “If you really dared to have any ideas, Xiuchen would have thrown you out a long time ago. How would he ever let you get close to Ranran? When it comes to anyone who’s a love rival, he has only three words for them.”

“What three words?”

Mo Zixuan curiously looked at Gu Kai.

“Kill on sight!” Someone lazily uttered these three words. As the words fell, Mo Xiuchen reached out, pulled Wen Ran to sit beside him, and wrapped his long arm around her shoulders, clearly staking his claim.

“Ranran, you’ll be stuck with Mo General for your whole life. There’s no chance for you to meet other handsome guys… Even though Mo General is handsome, don’t you ever get tired of looking at the same face every day and feel tempted to switch to a new one?”

Bai Yiyi asked with a cheeky grin.

Wen Ran glared at her. “Yiyi, how am I supposed to answer that? I can’t exactly tell the truth.”

“Ranran, you can tell the truth.” A low voice carrying a faint hint of danger sounded in her ear—it was Mo Xiuchen.

Wen Ran raised her hand and pushed his face away. “If I tell the truth, will you not get mad?”

Mo Xiuchen squinted his eyes. “I won’t get mad. But don’t say it here for now. If they hear it, they’ll claim we’re showing off our love. Wait until we get home and tell me privately.”

Fang Zhiwei watched the scene before her, and a wave of bitterness surged in her heart. She felt as though she didn’t belong among this group, like she could never truly integrate into their circle.

Even back when she was dating Gu Kai, it didn’t feel as close as how Bai Yiyi was with them now.

She glanced at Gu Kai. His brows carried a hint of laughter, and his demeanor was noble and imposing.

Pressing her lips together, she heard her own voice respond, faintly tinged with melancholy, “I have friends in the other private room, so I’ll head back now.”

Wen Ran turned her head upon hearing Fang Zhiwei’s words, but since she was held possessively by Mo Xiuchen, she couldn’t get up. She smiled apologetically. “Sister Wei, I was hoping you’d stay and hang out with me, but since you have friends, it wouldn’t be good to keep you. Let’s meet up another time.”

“Alright.” Fang Zhiwei smiled at Wen Ran and left. Tongtong ran to Gu Kai’s side, and Bai Yiyi accompanied Fang Zhiwei to the door. After she left, Bai Yiyi closed the private room door and returned.

“Yiyi, do you think she knows about you and my brother?”

Wen Ran’s concerned voice sounded just as Bai Yiyi sat down.

“No way. Fang Zhiwei probably doesn’t know about me and your brother being together. But maybe she’s scared of the idea, so her way of talking always comes with a hint of insinuation.”

“It seems you understand her well,” Wen Jin interjected mischievously, stirring the pot.

His comment earned him a sharp glare from Gu Kai, while Mo Zixuan and Jiang Liu could barely suppress their laughter. Mo Xiuchen curved his lips and said, “Maybe she heard some rumors, or maybe she’s just scared because she still harbors hope for Ah Kai. Either way, that’s just her perspective on things.”

Seeing Bai Yiyi lower her head, staring blankly at a spot on the table, Gu Kai narrowed his eyes and lightly nudged her with his elbow. “What are you thinking about?”

“Nothing. It’s just that every time Fang Zhiwei shows up, I feel like a third wheel.”

“Yiyi, where does that feeling even come from?”

Wen Ran held back her laughter as she glanced at Gu Kai. Seeing a frown forming on his brow, she quickly added, “Don’t overthink it. Fang Zhiwei and my brother ended ages ago. It’s actually all my fault that they dated in the first place.”

“How could it be your fault?”

Bai Yiyi furrowed her brows, looking at Wen Ran. That was clearly Gu Kai’s romantic baggage—how did it have anything to do with Ranran?

Wen Ran let out a soft sigh and gently explained, “Back then, I kept urging him to find me a sister-in-law. Later, my dad arranged a blind date for him. He didn’t like those dates, but he wanted to make me happy, so he reluctantly decided to try dating Fang Zhiwei.”

Gu Kai looked like he wanted to say something. His lips moved slightly, but he stayed silent.

“When my brother met Fang Zhiwei, he even brought me along. Because I got along well with her in conversation… So, Yiyi, don’t hold anything against my brother because of Fang Zhiwei, okay? Blame it all on me.”

“Alright, I won’t hold it against him. But Ranran, this isn’t your fault. Don’t put the blame on yourself.”

Bai Yiyi understood that Wen Ran didn’t want her to feel uncomfortable or let it affect her relationship with Gu Kai because of Fang Zhiwei.

“Then don’t ever call yourself the third wheel again. You knew my brother first, and Tongtong is the best proof of that!”

“Tongtong, proof.”

Tongtong, who had been gnawing on a chicken claw, had no idea what they were talking about. But when she heard her aunt suddenly mention her name, she immediately looked up. Her small, oily mouth—untouched by a wipe—stated earnestly that she was proof.

“Tongtong, proof of what?”

Bai Yiyi couldn’t help but laugh at Tongtong’s remark. She grabbed a napkin and started wiping the little girl’s mouth.

Holding the chicken claw in her hand, Tongtong’s delicate face lit up in confusion. She blinked her clear, big eyes and stared at Bai Yiyi wiping her mouth. Her adorable cluelessness was enough to melt hearts.

Wen Ran laughed uncontrollably, to the point that she couldn’t straighten up. Next to her, Mo Xiuchen gently patted her back. “Ranran, stop laughing, or your stomach will hurt.”

“I can’t help it,” Wen Ran said amid laughter. She couldn’t help but burst out laughing whenever she saw Tongtong’s dazed, cute expression. The little girl was simply too adorable.

Wen Jin sighed with emotion, “With such a cute little bundle like Tongtong, it’s not too late even if you two only came to your senses now. But if you never did, it would have been a real shame and a waste of Tongtong’s adorableness.”

“Haha, Ah Jin, you’re absolutely right. Tongtong truly is so cute. If we take a picture of her like this, she’d definitely become an internet sensation.” Jiang Liu said, reaching for his phone.
