Chapter 134: Chapter 134: Blood Sacrifice

Chu Moyuan felt his heart violently clench. He didn’t dare to imagine what he would do if anything happened to his wife.

Transforming instantly into his true form, Chu Moyuan used his serpent body and Wind Ability to block the attackers for a split second. Disregarding any chance to counterattack, he took a slash to his body. Bleeding, he flashed into the room in the blink of an eye.

"Wife!"

The moment he entered, Chu Moyuan remembered that his wife was terrified of his true form. In a flash, he shifted back into a human and rushed to Qiao Suluo’s side.

Seeing that she was safe and unharmed, he finally breathed a sigh of relief. He hurried forward to support her. "Wife, how are you?"

He didn’t even dare to hold her too tightly, terrified of causing her pain.

"Don’t worry, I’m fine." Qiao Suluo’s vision darkened and spun in waves of pain.

"You’re bleeding." Seeing the blood on Qiao Suluo’s arm, Chu Moyuan’s gaze trembled. His eyes instantly turned bloodshot, surging with a bloodthirsty murderous intent.

"It’s nothing. It’ll be fine in a moment." Enduring the pain, Qiao Suluo steadied her mind and used her Wood Element Ability to heal herself. The bleeding gradually stopped, and the wound began to close.

Right at this moment, the assassins in black charged in, slashing frantically at Chu Moyuan. More assassins out in the courtyard fired arrows in their direction.

"Careful!"

Qiao Suluo watched an arrow pierce through the air. Chu Moyuan pulled her into his arms, shielding her from danger. Her face turned pale.

Chu Moyuan didn’t care about his own safety at all; he only knew that he couldn’t let Qiao Suluo get hurt. He couldn’t bear to see her bleed—it made his heart ache even more than his wounds.

Protecting Qiao Suluo, Chu Moyuan spun around, ignoring his own pain. He used his Wind Ability to block the fatal strikes while his bare hand snatched the incoming arrow right out of the air. He flipped the arrow around and, propelled by his Wind Ability, shot it back with extreme speed and deadly precision.

SWISH!

"Ah!"

THUD!

Someone seemed to have been struck by the arrow, collapsing straight to the ground.

Immediately after, Chu Moyuan resumed his fierce melee with the remaining seven assassins. Qiao Suluo watched the scene, her brows furrowed in deep worry.

Before long, two more assassins in black went down, but Chu Moyuan’s injuries had worsened. Blood dripped continuously from his body.

"Mo Yuan..." Qiao Suluo was anxious and worried, but lacking combat power, she couldn’t help at all right now. Seeing him protect her with no regard for his own life, Qiao Suluo felt profoundly moved.

"System, what should I do? Is there anything I can help with?"

"Host, don’t worry," the System replied. "Chu Moyuan’s combat strength is incredibly high. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have survived his narrow escapes in the Beast Fighting Arena."

Despite the reassurance, seeing Chu Moyuan so heavily injured still pained Qiao Suluo. "Does the Space Mall have any weapons?"

If she had a weapon, she could at least help. Right now, all she could do was fret helplessly.

"Host, no," the System answered. "The mall is an ordinary one, stocking only daily necessities. Weapons and hidden projectiles for combat are forbidden items; the mall couldn’t possibly sell them."

Qiao Suluo gritted her teeth. "If I had known, I would have mixed more sleeping powder."

She had given the sleeping powder she made for self-defense to Qin Wushang yesterday, leaving her empty-handed now. She should have gathered more herbs to prepare extra doses. Since she couldn’t offer any assistance, she could only protect herself and ensure Chu Moyuan didn’t have to divide his attention.

As Chu Moyuan continued to fight these Beastmen, he gradually sensed something familiar.

"Did Patriarch Qin send you?"

Their techniques reminded Chu Moyuan of the operatives in the Underground Beast Fighting Arena. It also reminded him of the combat skills of the Beastmen in the expedition team that went to the Ancient Secret Forest. The longer he fought them, the stronger the feeling became.

The remaining five Beastman assassins exchanged shifting glances upon hearing this. Since they had been exposed, they had to kill their targets. "Kill!"

Chu Moyuan watched their reactions closely as he fought fiercely. Seeing their response, he understood—they were definitely from the Qin Family. It seemed this was Patriarch Qin’s order.

However, in engaging in actual combat, the assassins realized just how formidable Chu Moyuan was. No wonder the Family Head had sent so many of them. They had started with eleven Beastmen, and now only five remained.

"If we don’t kill them today, we won’t be able to report back."

The five Beastmen exchanged glances. Two of them stepped up. "We’ll do it."

As he spoke, the other three Beastmen tangled with Chu Moyuan. The two who had volunteered plunged their blades into their own chests. Using their heart’s blood, they drew a bizarre symbol, forming a crimson circle. "Blood Sacrifice!"

Chu Moyuan’s expression changed drastically.

Qiao Suluo clearly felt the atmosphere shift. The oppressive aura intensified, and the surrounding Powerful Energy began to swirl. Caught in this cold, sinister wind, Qiao Suluo could barely open her eyes.

The System exclaimed in her ear, "It’s a Blood Sacrifice! They are sacrificing a portion of their lifeforce to boost their combat power! They are dead set on killing you."

Chu Moyuan glanced back at Qiao Suluo.

For some reason, meeting his dark, profound eyes made Qiao Suluo’s heart skip a beat. Realizing what he was about to do, she shouted, "No, Chu Moyuan! Don’t!"

Despite her cries, Chu Moyuan resorted to a Blood Sacrifice as well, driving a blade into his chest without hesitation. Simultaneously, he plucked the serpent scale from his weak point—his seven inches—and tossed it to Qiao Suluo.

This was the toughest piece of armor on his body: his Reversed Scale. Exceptionally sharp and sturdy, it could serve as a formidable weapon to protect her at a critical moment.

He didn’t know if he would survive, but he couldn’t let anything happen to his wife. As a Beast Husband, protecting his wife was his duty, even if it cost him his life.

"In a moment, after I kill them, go find Que Hongjin." Que Hongjin’s body had fully recovered, making him the strongest combatant—stronger than both him and Bai Qianluo.

"No, Mo Yuan! You can’t die! I can’t live without you!" Qiao Suluo’s eyes reddened with tears.

She wanted to rush forward and stop him, but the aura generated by his sacrifice formed a barrier, keeping her out. By elevating his power, he manifested a domain, trapping all the assassins within it.

Qiao Suluo had no intention of running away at a time like this. She frantically communicated with the System. "Is there any way for me to rapidly increase my strength so I can fight?

"Or System, please help me! Use your System Power!

"He can’t die. If he dies, I’ll never forgive myself."

Qiao Suluo couldn’t allow Chu Moyuan to sacrifice himself to protect her. She knew Chu Moyuan still had many things left to do. He had survived the narrow escapes in the Qin Family’s Underground Beast Fighting Arena because he harbored an unwavering conviction. She knew he had unfinished business.

"Host, the last time I forcibly used System Power, I violated a taboo. I am no longer allowed to forcibly interfere," the System said. "Don’t worry, Host. Chu Moyuan is the major villain of this world. He won’t die that easily."

Chu Moyuan engaged in a desperate deathmatch with the remaining five Beastman assassins. The shockwaves of the battle were immense, yet even so, Chu Moyuan managed to contain the destruction within a certain radius, preventing the assassins from destroying the walls or the roof.

As they fought tooth and nail, their combat momentum began to wane. In the end, the five Beastmen collapsed to the ground, and Chu Moyuan also fell unconscious.

"Haha, dead.

"Qiao Suluo, now you have fallen into my hands."

Just then, a female Beastman leaped down from above, carried in someone’s arms.

Qiao Suluo looked up. It was Qin Siyan.
