Chapter 133: Swift and Fierce Offensive
Chapter 133: Chapter 133: Swift and Fierce Offensive
Although Que Hongjin was asking Qiao Suluo, his arms wrapped around her tightened bit by bit, holding her as if he would never let go.
All he knew was that he didn’t want to release her tonight. He needed her. He needed a small sense of security.
Leaning into Que Hongjin’s embrace and listening to his strong heartbeat, Qiao Suluo felt her own heart race in tandem. She gave a gentle nod. "Okay."
The moment Qiao Suluo agreed, she felt his grip around her waist tighten even more. His long, powerful arms pressed her snugly against him until there was no space left between them. At the same time, his hand lifted her chin, and his lips descended, parting hers in a kiss.
Their breathing grew heavier. Qiao Suluo tilted her head back, instinctively closing her eyes as she softly returned his kiss.
She could sense that something was slightly off about Que Hongjin today. Gradually, however, completely unable to withstand his overwhelming presence, she couldn’t help but tremble softly, passively receiving everything he gave her.
"Mmm... Hong Jin..."
"Be good..."
An unknown amount of time passed before Que Hongjin finally pulled back slightly, burying his face in the crook of her neck to steady his breathing. He could still feel her slight tremors. Holding her close, he gently stroked her back.
He knew he had been too impassioned just now, and it had been a bit too much for her to handle. He simply couldn’t control the urge to vent the pent-up emotions inside his heart.
"I’m sorry, I lost control a little just now."
Qiao Suluo shook her head. "No, you didn’t. I’m not that fragile."
That single sentence instantly shattered the walls around Que Hongjin’s heart. He picked her up and laid her on the bed, reaching out to gently caress her brow. His usually mild eyes were now dark and deep, seemingly suppressing and restraining a fierce intensity.
"My wife, I like you so much. I’m afraid I might lose control in a moment."
He was terrified of hurting her.
For some reason, Qiao Suluo detected a hint of insecurity radiating from Que Hongjin at this moment. She didn’t know why he felt so uneasy. It was completely different from his usual gentle and composed demeanor.
Although curious, Qiao Suluo figured he had his own compelling reasons for keeping quiet, so she chose not to pry. Taking the initiative, she reached out to embrace him, pressing her lips to his throat.
"Do you like this?" she murmured softly. "I want you to be happy."
They had been intimate before, and she knew exactly where he was most sensitive. She was coaxing him, responding to his needs.
BOOM...
As if something had exploded within him, Que Hongjin’s eyes darkened even further before he leaned down to kiss her. What followed burned like a raging fire. The hard shell around his heart had long since shattered for her.
His overwhelming affection was too much for Qiao Suluo to handle, and it wasn’t until dawn was approaching that she finally fell asleep.
His body and mind fully soothed, Que Hongjin only slept for a short while before waking up, looking entirely refreshed and invigorated.
Unsurprisingly, Qiao Suluo did not appear at the breakfast table. Without needing to guess, Bai Qianluo and Chu Moyuan both knew exactly what had happened.
Chu Moyuan squeezed the chopsticks in his hand so hard that they snapped in two. "What did you do to our wife?"
Que Hongjin replied in a smooth, clear voice, "Our wife was exhausted last night. Let her sleep in a little longer."
Hearing this, Chu Moyuan became even more certain of what Que Hongjin had done. He had monopolized their wife for the entire night. No matter how uncomfortable Chu Moyuan felt about it, he forced the feeling down. He had never imagined that one day, he would care this much about a female.
Bai Qianluo let out a soft sigh. "Let’s eat first. Later, you head to the academy. Chu Moyuan and I will split up; one of us will stay and guard our wife, while the other goes to the stall."
Over the past few days, their wife had successfully launched Qiao’s Restaurant. She spent every morning making pancakes for a large crowd of customers. Missing even a single day would hurt their business. Having helped her out recently, he knew how to make the pancakes himself.
After breakfast, Bai Qianluo instructed Chu Moyuan to watch over their wife carefully. He then kneaded the dough, gathered the prepared ingredients, and headed to the food stall.
Que Hongjin returned to the room to check on their wife for a moment before finally leaving for the academy.
Chu Moyuan remained in the room to stand guard. He stayed completely silent, terrified of waking her from her slumber.
However, midway through the morning, Chu Moyuan suddenly heard a noise. His expression changed drastically. Stepping out of the room immediately, he channeled his Wind Ability, sweeping a gale across the entire courtyard.
"Come out!"
Caught within the vortex of his Wind Ability, figures clad in black emerged one by one. Their faces were masked, and they exuded a chilling, murderous aura.
"Kill him."
The assassins charged directly at Chu Moyuan. Relying on his Wind Ability, Chu Moyuan fought back swiftly. As he battled, his brow furrowed deeply. He worried that the commotion would wake their wife. She was exhausted from the previous night and desperately needed to catch up on her rest.
The masked assassins moved with blinding speed, their swords gleaming with a cold, sinister light. The leader, who was the most agile of the group, unleashed ruthless attacks, lunging straight for Chu Moyuan’s heart.
At the same time, the other men attempted to flank him, while a few tried to break into the room behind him, clearly intending to assassinate Qiao Suluo.
Seeing this, Chu Moyuan flew into a rage. "You’re courting death!"
His legs transformed into a massive snake tail. With a vicious sweep, accompanied by a loud THUD, he knocked away every assassin attempting to rush into the room.
The men staggered backward. Once they managed to stabilize themselves, they glared at Chu Moyuan with dark, menacing eyes. Instead of retreating, Chu Moyuan pushed forward. Leaping out like a fleeting shadow, he drew his sword. A brilliant silver light erupted from the blade as his clothes whipped violently in the wind.
He struck at the leader with pinpoint accuracy, and their figures quickly blurred in a fierce melee. A moment later, the leader let out a muffled groan. A string of blood beads appeared on his wrist, and his weapon hit the ground with a loud CLANG.
"Kill him!" the other assassins yelled, finally reacting. They swarmed forward instantly, ten men thrusting their weapons at Chu Moyuan.
Tapping the ground lightly with his toes, Chu Moyuan channeled his Wind Ability to sweep up the branches and foliage in the courtyard. Suspending them in the air, he launched them like hidden projectiles at the dozen or so attackers, aiming straight for their vital spots.
After three of the ten men collapsed, one of them shouted sharply, "Assume true forms and get into formation!"
The remaining seven swiftly transformed into their true forms—lion Beastmen—and fanned out into a semi-circular array. Once in formation, their offensive strikes became even more ferocious and relentless.
To prevent them from entering the house and harming his wife, Chu Moyuan counterattacked with everything he had. In the process, he suffered several gashes and injuries of his own, but he didn’t dare stop for even a second.
BANG BANG BANG...
The battle grew increasingly intense, echoing with thunderous crashes.
Although Chu Moyuan had set up a soundproof barrier around his wife’s room, the barrier’s strength waned as his injuries mounted.
Qiao Suluo had been sleeping soundly, but eventually, the faint sounds breached her slumber, and her eyes fluttered open. Upon waking, the distinct scent of blood reached her nose, causing her expression to change sharply.
She quickly pushed open the lattice window and peered outside, taking in the fierce battle unfolding in the courtyard. Her face paled in alarm, and she scrambled out of bed.
Right at that moment, an arrow tore through the window and shot directly into the room with a sharp WHOOSH.
Qiao Suluo tried to dodge it swiftly, but the arrow still grazed her arm, the momentum throwing her forward onto the floor.
She sucked in a sharp breath. The intense pain drained the color from Qiao Suluo’s face, but she gritted her teeth and stifled any cries.
Busy fending off the black-clad men in the yard, Chu Moyuan never could have anticipated that a hidden sniper was lurking in the shadows.
"Wife!" Chu Moyuan’s voice trembled wildly.
