First Immortal of the Sword

Chapter 3145 - The Sun Shines Bright, the Stars Dimming by Comparison

Ruo Su looked up from her perch amidst the clouds over Divine Reverence Pavilion, her eyes shining with strange light.

That sword scar split the skies over the entire Unfettered Continent. That was far beyond any Heavenly Sovereign!

Not even she could have anticipated this. Even thoroughly surrounded, Su Yi used no taboo treasures of any kind. Instead, he relied purely on his own strength!

He’d obviously been holding back earlier. It was only when he unleashed this most recent slash that he revealed his true abilities!

The Secluded Ones’ expressions shifted erratically. They were from the Far Shore of Destiny. All of them had stepped onto the Path to Ancestry. What kind of glorious battle hadn’t they seen before?

But there was no denying that Su Yi’s display of power had shocked even them.

“Is this... the power of a Heavenly Fate Realm cultivator?” someone murmured, totally bewildered. He found it hard to believe that this strike was the work of someone yet to acquire an Eternal Throne.

“This is, after all, the reincarnation of the Big Boss of Sword Sovereign City. Why make such a fuss over nothing?” someone else snorted coldly.

Old Lord Gouchen suddenly frowned and broke his silence. “You know, I never heard that the Big Boss was capable of unleashing such attacks in the Heavenly Fate Realm.”

Many of the other Secluded Ones instantly fell silent.

Old Lord Gouchen continued, “If Su Yi’s strong, it’s purely because of his past lives. If he’s weak, it’s because of his own ineptitude. Is it really that hard to judge Su Yi’s strength impartially? Are you... all really so small-minded?”

This was a clear rebuke. Many of the Secluded Ones looked ill at ease.

Old Lord Gouchen had nothing else to say, but although he looked calm on the surface, he was anything but.

He, too, was astonished by Su Yi’s strength!

......

Atop Snowy Gale Mountain.

Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan gasped, then murmured, “My little brother... is now far stronger than me!”

Heavenly Sovereign Qingyi’s heart churned, but out loud, she said coldly, “If he weren’t this capable, how could he possibly fight Heavenly Sovereigns?”

As Heavenly Sovereigns, they were both naturally aware of how terrifyingly strong Su Yi’s slash was.

Beyond Snowy Gale Mountain, countless cultivators fled in abject panic. Naturally, none of them noticed how astonishing Su Yi’s strike was.

......

Beneath the dome of heaven, the Threelives Buddha’s robes billowed around him. His hands trembled on his purple scepter.

Heavenly Sovereign Wen’s gaze was dark. The Huangting Ruler wailed in his grip.

Heavenly Sovereign Ling clutched the Burning Heavens Spear and gnashed his teeth. That strike had practically sent his spear flying from his grip.

Heavenly Sovereign Changhen’s gaze was utterly solemn. His “Gate of the Southern Heavens” had broken on impact!

Heavenly Sovereigns E, Wuxu, and Yaoguang didn’t get off lightly, either. All of them had been forced back.

They’d joined forces to encircle Su Yi, but their joint onslaught had broken in a single slash! This was far too unbelievable, and it was entirely outside of their expectations.

“So this is what you’re truly capable of, Fellow Daoist. No wonder...” The Threelives Buddha sighed.

Su Yi was swathed in countless streaks of chaos Dao Light, like countless turbulent currents of sword qi. They reflected all manner of unbelievable visions of the Grand Dao.

Even just standing there casually, his presence bore down on the dome of heaven, making the Laws tremble. Even the Heavenly Sovereigns felt intense pressure bearing down on them!

There had never been a Heavenly Fate Realm cultivator like this before. The phrase “heaven-defying” was insufficient to describe him.

Only now did the Heavenly Sovereigns understand why Su Yi dared to challenge them all alone!

“Are you afraid?” Su Yi raised his wooden sword and looked around. Even his gaze was now as sharp as his sword.

His presence was far too terrifying. It was as if he were suddenly a completely different person.

“Afraid?” Heavenly Sovereign E laughed coldly. “If you want to challenge us, those measly abilities are far from sufficient!”

Su Yi said calmly, “Let’s keep going, then.”

Boom!

His voice had only just resounded through the air when he took a step forward. His wooden sword took to the sky, stirring up an all-encompassing wave of sword force.

At his level, his attainments and legacies of the Dao of the Sword had long since fused into one. His every movement and every gesture were full of unstoppable force. Each was imbued with the mysteries of the Dao of the Sword, wondrous to the point of true mastery, as if seizing fortune from the heavens.

This slash seemed simple, but in truth, all artifice had been washed away. It was like the Grand Dao, supreme in its simplicity!

Practically simultaneously, the Threelives Buddha and the other Heavenly Sovereigns joined forces and attacked. Unlike before, none of them held back. All of them used the cards they’d been keeping in reserve, and all of them were ruthless and decisive.

The battle resumed with incomparable ferocity. Explosive currents of destructive power coursed through the dome of heaven, and all manner of shocking divine abilities interwove.

Heavenly Sovereign-level weapons rumbled and boomed. The entire continent’s curtain of heaven seemed like it was on the verge of collapse. The air filled with startling rifts and calamitous auras.

The continent’s countless inhabitants were terrified and ill at ease. They felt as if they were witnessing the descent of the apocalypse.

In truth, the entire continent’s Laws were plunged into upheaval. The effects spread far and wide.

Even those in the Four Seas, Five Celestial Capitals, and Six Pure Lands could clearly see the strange phenomena overhead.

This was a battle between Heavenly Sovereigns. The aftershock reached the whole Eternal Heavens Domain.

Why did the Devastation come to a close? Ultimately, it was because of an apocalyptic battle between Heavenly Sovereigns!

But the battle now raging beneath the skies of the Unfettered Continent was even grander, even fiercer, and even more shocking!

Bang!!

Sword qi whooshed through the air, sweeping through the sky. Boundless sword force spread outward, grinding away both time and space.

Heavenly Sovereign Yaoguang’s Sevendeaths Golden Platform was sent flying once more, a startling crack visible on its surface. Blood flowed from the corners of his lips, and his face contorted with shock, fury, and disbelief.

They had Su Yi outnumbered, and they were going all out, but Heavenly Sovereign Yaoguang had still been injured!

It wasn’t just Heavenly Sovereign Yaoguang. The other Heavenly Sovereigns didn’t get off lightly, either. They were going all out, trying their utmost to surround and suppress Su Yi.

Much to their surprise, they could no longer do so. They could barely even restrict him, let alone stop him!

On the contrary, they were the ones under enormous pressure. No matter what they tried, Su Yi broke through everything they threw at him!

Splurt!

Fresh blood splattered the air.

As the battle raged on, a streak of sword qi brushed past Heavenly Sovereign Wen. As unassuming as the sword qi looked, it almost severed his right arm. The flesh around the wound was totally destroyed; it had split even bone!

“That bastard has only just broken into the Heavenly Fate Realm, so why is he even stronger than a Heavenly Sovereign?” Heavenly Sovereign Wen said in disbelief.

Su Yi’s force and momentum had reached unbelievable heights. He was alone save for his sword, but nothing could stand in his way!

He was mightier than even a Heavenly Sovereign. When he unleashed his powers of the Grand Dao, it put immense pressure on even these rulers of the Eternal Heavens Domain.

So many Heavenly Sovereigns had joined forces, only for Su Yi’s powers of the Grand Dao to suppress them. Who’d have believed such a thing?

Clang!!!

An earsplitting impact rang out as Heavenly Sovereign Ling was sent flying, spear and all. He hacked up a mouthful of blood.

He’d taken this strike head-on even as two other Heavenly Sovereigns attacked Su Yi from the sides.

Even under those circumstances, Su Yi had sent Heavenly Sovereign Ling flying!

Even the Secluded Ones’ eyes widened at this tyrannical display of power.

Had Su Yi been an expert of the Path to Ancestry, this feat wouldn’t have been the least bit strange, but Su Yi was still just a Heavenly Fate Realm Heavenly Monarch. He wasn’t even a Heavenly Sovereign!

This was far too unbelievable.

“It seems his Heavenly Fate Realm cultivation is beyond the bounds of the Eternal Heavens Domain...” Old Lord Gouchen’s heart shook at the realization.

Heavenly Fate was bequeathed by the heavens. Stepping into the Heavenly Fate Realm meant that a cultivator’s Grand Dao was now inextricably connected with the Laws of the River of Destiny.

Heavenly Sovereigns were in the Heavenly Fate Realm too. It was just that they’d fused with an Eternal Throne’s source energies, letting them control a portion of Heaven’s Will.

Su Yi’s Heavenly Fate Realm was obviously different from other people’s. Others’ Heavenly Fate Realms were bequeathed by the heavens, and they originated from the Laws of the River of Destiny, but Su Yi’s Heavenly Fate Realm was starkly different. The heavens hadn’t granted it to him, and it had no connection to the Laws of the River of Destiny.

It seemed as if he ruled over Heavenly Fate in his own right. His powers of the Grand Dao were like a complete manifestation of Heaven’s Will.

That was how he could resist and even suppress the Heavenly Sovereigns and their power of Heaven’s Will!

His fate was Heavenly Fate, his Dao was the Dao of the Heavens!

Old Lord Gouchen sensed this, but he found it difficult to believe. This meant that so long as Su Yi kept growing, he’d be able to climb over the Laws of the River of Destiny, and his Dao would replace Heaven’s Will!

If that happened, it wouldn’t just overturn the Eternal Heavens Domain’s balance of power. It would overturn the natural order of the entire River of Destiny.

The Heavenly Sovereigns had ruled the Eternal Heavens Domain in the past, acting as representatives of Heaven’s Will.

But in the future, even Heavenly Sovereigns would have no choice but to lower their heads and submit to Su Yi!

And that was just what would happen while he was still in the Heavenly Fate Realm. Old Lord Gouchen couldn’t even imagine how terrifying Su Yi’s cultivation would be once he stepped onto the Path to Ancestry.

Don’t tell me that this is why the Big Boss entered the cycle of reincarnation back then...? Old Lord Gouchen couldn’t help but gasp.

This secret was far too taboo. He was a founding member of the Mountain of the Secluded Ones, but even he lost his composure at the thought of it.

As his thoughts raced, the battle raging beneath the dome of heaven reached peak intensity.

Su Yi fought alone, sword in hand, his blood boiling. The will to fight coursed through him. This was the most satisfying, proud battle he’d fought since he’d stepped onto the River of Destiny! And that was cause for celebration.

Of course, striking down his powerful foes was delightful, too!

No one knew how strong Su Yi had become since his breakthrough in the Abyss of Endless Tribulations. And no one knew how high his understanding of Heavenly Fate had risen after he clearly sensed the Eternal Heavens Domain’s Laws.

Now, he no longer held back. He poured the full extent of his cultivation base into his sword. As he fought, his heart, soul, body, and powers of the Grand Dao resonated and fused.

It was as if he were a furnace, his flames intent on burning the nine heavens. He drew his sword today to cleave through the grudges of the past!

Beneath this onslaught, the Heavenly Sovereigns’ momentum and attacks were ruthlessly suppressed. Their strength paled by comparison.

He was like the sun. When its intense radiance illuminated the sky, all other stars faded away!
