First Immortal of the Sword

Chapter 3131 - His Gaze Reaches the Ends of the Heavens, the World Reflected in His Heart

In his response, Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan said nothing about why all of the Heavenly Sovereigns’ avatars were surveilling him, but Su Yi could naturally figure it out on his own.

Keeping a close eye on Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan was a surefire way of locating Su Yi! He was their true target.

That aside, Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan suggested that Su Yi find a safe place to lie low for the time being. He’d then look for an opportunity to evade the Heavenly Sovereigns’ gazes, slip out, and meet with Su Yi. Then, he’d bring him to see the members of the Heart-Tempering Sword House.

Su Yi pondered briefly, then reached a decision. He replied, “No need to go to all that trouble. I’ll just come directly to the Blackwater Celestial Capital.”

By the time he’d sent his response, he was already rushing along. Given his current strength, he had no need to sneak around or hide.

Swordsmen sheathed their swords with the intent of one day revealing their edges.

Besides, he’d come back to the Eternal Heavens Domain for the express purpose of fighting the Heavenly Sovereigns!

......

The Blackwater Celestial Capital, the ancestral grounds of the Taiwu Sect.

When he saw Su Yi’s reply, Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan was stunned. My little brother is coming in person? Won’t that reveal his location? What will we do then?

Heavenly Sovereign E, Heavenly Sovereign Wen, and the other old-timers have repeatedly caused trouble of late. They’ve announced to the world that if Su Yi dares show himself in the Eternal Heavens Domain, they’ll execute him!

Everyone’s talking about it. There’s no telling how much uproar has arisen as a result. If Su Yi dares show himself under the circumstances, it’ll lead to immediate disaster!

Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan immediately sent another message urging Su Yi to proceed with caution, not to let his emotions get the best of him, and so on.

He had nothing but the best of intentions, but a long time passed, and his warnings went unanswered.

Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan couldn’t help but grimace. My little brother is as stubborn as ever!

He didn’t even need to think to know that Su Yi was already on his way.

I wonder what happened during his trip to the Abyss of Endless Tribulations? He isn’t even bothering to hide his location anymore...

He thought back to when they’d parted ways in the Southern Sea’s Crimson Kite Daoist Court. Su Yi had left for the Abyss of Endless Tribulations with Hong Ling and the Threelives Buddha.

Half a year had passed since then.

That Su Yi had made it back alive was unquestionable proof that the Threelives Buddha and Hong Ling had failed.

Something suddenly occurred to Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan. Don’t tell me that he had a wondrous encounter in the abyss and that he no longer has anything to fear from Heavenly Sovereigns?

But then, he shook his head. Even if he can fight Heavenly Sovereigns, what good will it do him? Without becoming a Heavenly Sovereign himself, he won’t be able to defeat them! Especially since he’s up against more than just one of them.

Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan thought and thought, but he couldn’t come up with any answers. In the end, he set the matter aside.

Su Yi wasn’t afraid, so there was no reason for him to worry, either.

Su Yi reached the Blackwater Celestial Capital a day later. This wasn’t his first time here. He’d come once previously, fighting and killing on the Taiwu Sect’s behalf.

It was just that then, he’d merely killed the Heavenly Sovereign factions’ Heavenly Monarchs.

He’d left for the Southern Sea and the Sea of Fate immediately after that battle.

This trip to the Blackwater Celestial Capital was an altogether different experience. As soon as he entered, he clearly sensed the capital’s boundless power of the Laws, so clearly that he felt as if he could just reach out and touch them.

Rumor said Heavenly Sovereigns were Heavenly Sovereigns because they were as lofty as the heavens themselves. They could manipulate the power of Heaven’s Will like supreme rulers.

Su Yi had now reached the Heavenly Fate Realm, but he wasn’t yet a Heavenly Sovereign. Even so, he could clearly sense the mysteries of the surrounding Laws.

The Laws were manifestations of Heaven’s Will. To ordinary cultivators, Heaven’s Will was ethereal, invisible, and intangible.

But in Su Yi’s eyes, so long as he willed it, he could touch it and seize control of the Laws of the surrounding area.

No wonder the world quivers beneath Heavenly Sovereigns’ feet as they travel, and no wonder all Daos are at their beck and call, letting them traverse enormous expanses in a flash...

When your powers of the Grand Dao are in harmony with the Laws of the surrounding area, you can supersede Heaven’s Will, as if becoming its incarnation, free, unfettered, and at ease. A single thought can let your spirit wander the vastness of the universe.

As Su Yi pondered, he inserted a wisp of his awareness into the Laws of the Blackwater Celestial Capital.

The entire city seemed to shrink, like a towering tree suddenly condensed into a potted plant, small enough that he could see every detail clearly.

The Eternal Heavens Domain had five Celestial Capitals. Each was like a boundlessly vast world in its own right.

During his last visit, Su Yi had never even considered the possibility of reflecting the entire Blackwater Celestial Capital in his mind’s eye in a single thought.

The feeling was incomparably wondrous. It was as if he could hold the mountains and rivers in the palm of his hand, or as if the entire, boundless world were a scroll painting unfurling before him. The entire landscape and everyone in it were reflected before him.

Eight thousand miles away, the cultivators of two sects were locked in fierce combat. Blood flowed like a river, staining the ground red.

Little did they know, a third faction eyed them hungrily from the shadows, ready to swoop in, finish off the victor, and claim the spoils for themselves.

An insect perched on a boulder, a bead of dew on its translucent wing.

To the west, someone was trying to find the precise border of the Blackwater Celestial Capital.

In a city in the southeast, a celebration of winemaking was underway. Thousands of different flavors of fine wine were on display for all to sample.

Their fragrances and flavors intermingled, drifting throughout the city. Despite the distance, Su Yi couldn’t help but gulp.

Yes, he could even sense the smells.

Buddhists said that every flower was a world, every leaf a bodhisattva, but this was different.

When Su Yi extended his awareness, the entire world was reflected in his mind’s eye, as clearly as if he were gazing down at the lines of his hands. The feeling was utterly shocking!

It was completely different from looking at a painting, as the world was constantly shifting. All of its movements, changes, and shifting energy and airflow were on full display, even the breath, qi fluctuations, and emotions of the masses.

He felt as if his gaze reached the ends of the earth, or as if the universe was on full display within his mind’s eye.

Su Yi couldn’t help but feel as if he’d become the ruler of creation, standing proud above the nine heavens, taking in the shifting of the world below.

It was no wonder that Heavenly Sovereigns were lauded as supreme rulers equal to the heavens themselves.

Before long, this wisp of Su Yi’s awareness sensed a wondrous scene—the terrifying presence within the Taiwu Sect. He blazed with the intense radiance of the sun; there was no hiding his brilliance.

His aura was tyrannical, unbridled, and searing hot, as if it could incinerate the nine heavens.

Something occurred to Su Yi in a flash of sudden revelation. That’s Ol’ Brother Ku Xuan!

No wonder Heavenly Sovereigns can sense when another Heavenly Sovereign is on the move.

When Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan visited the Great Aberrant Ruins, he hid his presence, but he couldn’t possibly have eluded Heavenly Sovereign Wen’s senses.

Meanwhile, in the Taiwu Sect, Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan sensed something. His brow furrowed with bewilderment. Just now, someone was spying on me!

Who could possibly be so rude? Don’t they realize that there’s no greater provocation to a Heavenly Sovereign?

But when Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan tried to trace the aura he’d sensed, he couldn’t locate it. Its presence was extraordinarily subtle and inscrutable. It had obviously appeared within the Laws, but it wasn’t subject to their influence. When it vanished, it left no trace. The whole thing seemed as strange as could be.

Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan couldn’t help but frown.

Heavenly Sovereigns’ Grand Daos were inextricably connected to the Laws of the Eternal Heavens Domain. They were effectively one.

Thus, whenever a Heavenly Sovereign appeared, they inevitably left vestiges of their aura in the Laws.

Yet now, someone had appeared, then vanished without a trace. That was highly unusual!

Strange. Don’t tell me I’ve been so uneasy lately that I’ve started seeing things? Am I jumping at imaginary threats? Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan scratched his head, but he couldn’t be bothered to give the matter any further thought. Here in the Blackwater Celestial Capital, he reigned supreme!

Unless a terrifying existence from the Far Shore got involved, he had nothing to fear, no matter what happened.

Meanwhile, Su Yi retracted that thread of his awareness. When he did, he discovered that Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan’s blazing, luminous, terrifying presence aside, there were six other noteworthy auras within the Blackwater Celestial Capital.

The six of them were scattered throughout the Blackwater Celestial Capital. Each was far beyond any ordinary cultivator.

He hadn’t investigated further, but Su Yi dared say with certainty that these were the six avatars of will watching Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan’s every move!

Heavenly Fate means knowing the fate of the heavens and striving for the mysteries of destiny. This realm really is different from those before it... Su Yi sighed.

He naturally understood that his Heavenly Fate Realm was starkly different from other people’s. At the very least, no one else could have done what he’d just done and sent his spirit wandering throughout the Blackwater Celestial Capital, seeing it in its entirety.

As he pondered, Su Yi rushed to the Taiwu Sect.

He was still mid-journey when he sensed Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan’s presence. His awareness had entered the surrounding Laws, and he was “looking” at Su Yi from afar!

Strangely, he made no attempt to greet Su Yi. Su Yi took the hint and pretended not to notice him.

Before long, he discovered the other Heavenly Sovereigns’ presences. All of them had appeared amidst the inscrutable power of the ambient Laws.

However, Su Yi could say that aside from Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan, none of them had sensed him. The others had been startled into action, not by him, but by Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan.

Indeed, just as he expected, before the other Heavenly Sovereigns could examine the area further, Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan exerted his power and obliterated their presences.

All of this happened invisibly within the Laws of the Blackwater Celestial Capital. It didn’t cause even the barest hint of a disturbance.

The inhabitants of the Blackwater Celestial Capital didn’t notice a thing. It was like the rulers of heaven were at war. Ordinary people couldn’t sense it.

But now, Su Yi could. He couldn’t help but laugh, then look up and gaze into the firmament. “Thank you for guiding me, Ol’ Brother Ku Xuan!”

Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan was seated in the Taiwu Sect. When he heard this, his eyes widened with astonishment. This little brother of mine can already sense the shifting of Heaven’s Will within the Laws?Does that mean... he’s become a Heavenly Sovereign?

Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan couldn’t help but gasp. This realization came as an enormous shock.
