Chapter 2700 - The Ancient Tripod Cauldron Appears

Chapter 2700 – The Ancient Tripod Cauldron Appears

Su Yi quickly retracted his gaze, then inwardly steeled himself. It’s time to determine a victor!

He then slowly closed his eyes and calmed his heart.

He should have been able to assume control over the Five Elements Altar’s chaos source power with ease, but then, something unexpected happened.

When he tried to refine that chaos source power, an indescribable, mysterious power surged forth. It wasn’t just standing in his way; it had suppressed him completely!

Su Yi had been clashing with this mysterious power all this time. Moreover, as he refined more and more chaos source power, he gained the ability to fight back.

Now, Su Yi had decided that the time had come to determine victory and defeat.

Chaos power surged atop the Five Elements Altar, as if boiling over.

A path Beneath the Nine Abysses existed further down Red Pine Mountain, in the part hidden in the spacetime fault.

The path led into the void, and it was covered in calamitous power. Danger lurked at every turn.

Throughout the ages, no one had ever managed to traverse this path and reach the Nine Abysses.

Not long ago, Su Yi assisted the Heaven-Combating Ancient Fiend in neutralizing her negative karma. It was then that Su Yi learned that the mysterious tripod cauldron really was hidden Beneath the Nine Abysses.

Now, boundless, immeasurable chaos power surged from the chaos source Beneath the Nine Abysses, like roiling, roaring lava.

The mysterious cauldron floated within the chaos power. It had two handles and three feet. Its walls were carved with four starkly different images.

Each depicted a figure, but all were incomparably indistinct and swathed in dense chaos mist. There was no discerning the details.

The cauldron’s opening billowed dazzling, resplendent Eternal Dao Light.

It was indistinct, but calamitous power bubbled with the cauldron, transforming into flickering wisps of electricity.

The cauldron was only about a foot tall, and it didn’t look special, yet when it hovered there, it had an indescribably grand charm to it.

As if it were a needle stabilizing the ocean, keeping the whole of the Nine Abysses in check!

A thousand feet away, a slender female figure sat in midair, hands repeatedly forming all manner of wondrous seals.

The seal repeatedly drew and controlled the chaos source power Beneath the Nine Abysses, condensing it into chaos markings, which surrounded the cauldron’s surface.

A seal just about to take shape in the woman’s hands suddenly split and dissipated. She suffered the backlash, shaking and coughing up blood.

“Dammit!!” The woman’s beautiful face shifted dramatically. “Just who managed to become the Bringer of Order? Why are they so strong?”

Kaboom!

Throughout the surrounding area, chaos power erupted like lava, then swept outward. She could no longer control it.

The woman’s heart clenched, but just as she was about to get everything back under control, the dense chaos markings exploded in rapid succession.

With every blast, the woman suffered a backlash. Soon, she was quivering from head to toe, her face deathly pale. She coughed up blood repeatedly.

In the end, countless startling gashes appeared all over her body, and her eyes dimmed.

The mysterious cauldron in the distance seemed to have fully awakened from its dormancy, and it slowly rose into the air.

As it moved, the Nine Abysses shook as if there’d been an earthquake. The chaos energy throughout the surrounding area burst forth like floodwaters, surging into the foot-tall cauldron.

The injured woman suddenly rose, then shrieked in a hysterical frenzy, “No, the ancient tripod cauldron is mine! I’m the master of Red Pine Mountain! I’m the Bringer of Order!!”

But even as her voice rang out, she was completely enveloped in rumbling chaos power.

The cauldron was utterly mysterious and terrifying. It was like a bottomless pit continually absorbing the chaos source power Beneath the Nine Abysses.

Within just a few blinks of an eye, more than half the source power had vanished!

And over the course of this process, the cauldron rose into the air as if summoned and shot out of the Nine Abysses.

“No!!!” The woman suddenly shrieked, as if realizing what was about to happen. She charged at the cauldron with no regard for her life, seizing it by one of its feet.

But she’d severely underestimated how terrifying it was. The moment she took hold of it, her hands exploded into a bloody pulp.

But she still didn’t give up. She shouted, then wrapped herself around the cauldron with all her might.

“It’s mine! No one can take it from me!

“In the God Domain, only I am qualified to control the ancient cauldron and Bring Order!”

She screamed her lungs out, but try as she might, she couldn’t stop the cauldron.

On the contrary, as the cauldron left, the power emanating from it wore her body down, scattering a rain of blood.

By the time it left the Nine Abysses, the chaos source energy originally located there had vanished. The cauldron had absorbed it all!

The woman’s soul shattered like porcelain, then withered, bit by bit.

Meanwhile, outside the spacetime fault, Lin Jinghong and A’Cai sensed the disturbance and looked over.

There, amidst the endless void beyond the fault, they saw a dazzling streak of Eternal Dao Light shooting their way.

Upon closer inspection, it was a mysterious, ancient tripod cauldron covered in a flowing rain of chaos light. Eternal Dao Light spewed from its mouth.

Wherever it went, the void within the spacetime fault shattered and collapsed, seemingly unable to withstand its power.

“Don’t tell me it’s that ancient cauldron?” Lin Jinghong’s eyelids lit up, and a blue jade record appeared in her hand.

She’d come to Red Pine Mountain in search of that very cauldron. She’d prepared this jade record for the express purpose of acquiring it!

“Just as I thought. When good fortune comes knocking, there’s no avoiding it! Who told this treasure to deliver itself into my arms? But this is for the best. I’ll let Su Yi Bring Order, while I control the Cauldron of Epochs!”

A grin tugged at Lin Jinghong’s lips, and she circulated her cultivation base without the slightest hesitation, pouring her strength into the blue jade record.

But to her astonishment, the record didn’t budge!

Meanwhile, a voice emanated from inside it. “Jinghong, that cauldron bears a calamity too great for you to withstand. You cannot control it, and you absolutely mustn’t touch it!”

Lin Jinghong bristled like a cat whose tail had been stepped on. “What do you mean, I can’t withstand it? Go get me that cauldron!”

She flung the blue jade record with all her might, but much to her embarrassment, it turned and flew right back to her moments later.

“Don’t throw a tantrum. Now that I’ve seen it for myself, I can see how strange the cauldron really is. Not even your father could seize control of it by force. If he tried, he’d only hurt himself!” The jade record rattled on. “Besides, Jinghong, you have a superabundance of treasures already! And you have me, the spirit of this treasure. Why go to such lengths to acquire a cauldron so dangerous?”

“Who’d complain about having too many treasures?” Lin Jinghong said in a huff. “Besides, I’ve been waiting near Red Pine Mountain for years now. Surely I can’t let all that effort go to waste?”

Here, she paused, then exclaimed, “Ee?”

She’d just noticed the remnants of a woman’s soul clinging to the cauldron as it hurtled out of the fault. She could even hear the woman’s hysterical, frenzied cries.

“Mine! It’s mine!”

Even A’Cai was unwittingly stunned. Who is that woman? How did she wind up in that state?

Lin Jinghong, however, laughed coldly. “I wouldn’t have guessed that someone had beaten me to the punch, but it seems… she failed to achieve her aims, and worse, suffered a disaster in the attempt!”

That voice emanated from within the jade record. “See that, Miss Jinghong? That’s what happens to those who covet that cauldron!”

Lin Jinghong frowned. Had anyone else said that, she might well have turned up her nose, but the blue jade record was a life-saving treasure her father had given her, an ancestor-level spirit treasure of incomparable intelligence. Lin Jinghong naturally wouldn’t just disregard its judgment.

Her determination to acquire the cauldron vanished.

Furthermore, she could tell that the woman whose soul now clung to the cauldron was a terrifying existence in her own right, yet even she had met with disaster!

Lin Jinghong had no desire to gamble with her life.

The cauldron whooshed out of the spacetime fault.

Kaboom!

The cauldron had only just emerged when the entirety of Red Pine Mountain shook, and glittering, resplendent Dao Markings arose all over its slopes.

Red Pine Mountain was incomparably grand and majestic, and it seemed endlessly enormous, like a vast world in its own right.

Yet now, every inch of its slopes was covered in natural Dao Markings, like stars dotting the night sky.

Meanwhile, those cultivators exploring Red Pine Mountain in search of good fortune were all stunned.

“What on earth is happening?”

“Don’t tell me that the danger isn’t over yet?”

Their hearts quivered with fright.

Earlier, they’d watched that unparalleled battle in the endless expanse of time and space beyond the God Domain firsthand. Even now, they hadn’t fully come back to their senses.

When the battle ended, they’d assumed that the danger was over, only for this to happen!

Moreover, it was happening on Red Pine Mountain, their current location. Of course, they were startled!

“Hurry! Look at Five Elements Peak!”

Before long, numerous cultivators noticed the shocking developments unfolding on Five Elements Peak.

The black sheep waiting at the foot of the mountain silently looked up. She could see a foot-tall tripod cauldron swathed in a rain of chaos light shooting up the slopes of Five Elements Peak.

Its aura made her heart palpitate. It was as if she were gazing upon the Will of the Heavens!

Meanwhile, atop Five Elements Peak, the yellow finch beat its wings and gazed intently at the ancient cauldron. It obviously couldn’t stay calm.

Atop the Five Elements Altar.

Su Yi still sat cross-legged, but he’d opened his eyes. He was looking at the ancient cauldron. I finally succeeded…

But then, his eyebrows rose as he saw the remnant of a woman’s soul still clinging to the cauldron.

It was incomparably indistinct, and it looked as if it would soon vanish.

But the woman still didn’t let go. She shouted repeatedly, screaming her lungs raw. “Mine! It’s mine!”
