First Immortal of the Sword

Chapter 2605 - Slaughtering a Duck and Chicken to Commemorate Your Death

Chapter 2605 – Slaughtering a Duck and Chicken to Commemorate Your Death

Beneath the dome of heaven.

When the handsome young man and the red-headed Huang Yun saw Su Yi approach from afar and heard the clucking and quacking of poultry, their expressions grew strange.

“Those ants are covered in the turbid air of mundanity. Why would someone of your status willingly lower himself by consorting with them?” said the handsome young man. “Even if you want to temper yourself amidst red dust, there’s no need to go that far, right?”

“You aren’t a fish, so how could you understand a fish’s joy?” laughed Su Yi. “What did you come here to do, anyway?”

He stood there, looking plain as could be, as unassuming as a blade of grass or stone lying on the ground. Even his attitude and voice were calm.

But that just made the handsome young man all the more uneasy. He couldn’t see through Su Yi at all. Su Yi seemed utterly impenetrable!

Back in the Boundless Battlefield, Su Yi’s edge had been withdrawn, but his every movement revealed his contemptuous pride and valiant spirit.

Yet now, he seemed as ordinary as a pebble!

“I’m here to kill you, of course!” The red-haired young man walked up, the depths of his gaze glinting with viciousness. He pointed to his chest. “Listen carefully. I’m Dao Lord Huang Yun, the man who’s going to kill you!”

Every word boomed throughout the firmament. Austere murderous intent enveloped everything on all sides.

Quack! Quack!

The earsplitting cry of a duck rang out. Moments later, the chicken joined in. The birds seemed to be saying, “Hey! What are you doing!?”

The austere atmosphere broke.

The handsome young man struggled to keep it in, but within moments, he burst into sputtering laughter.

The red-haired Huang Yun’s face reddened, his gaze fierce.

Ducks and chickens were the most ordinary of livestock, yet now, they were causing a commotion at just the wrong time, as if they were mocking him. The red-haired man felt deeply humiliated.

Su Yi smiled. “Huang Yun, right? Why kill me?”

“Do I need a reason to kill someone?” Huang Yun’s eyes flashed like lightning, his whole body billowing with ferocity. “I want to kill you, so here I am. It’s as simple as that!”

“Oh,” said Su Yi. He glanced at the handsome young man. “Does that go for you, too?”

The handsome young man said unwillingly, “I planned to wait for the Battle for Order, but there’s nothing for it. I can’t just leave Huang Yun unattended.”

Huang Yun said in displeasure, “Who needs your help? Get out of my way and watch the battle from afar. You are not to intervene!”

The handsome young man’s lips twitched. Deep within his heart, he wanted to do just that and leave the hooligan to his own devices.

But in the end, he held back, sighed, and said, “I’ll say it just once more time. It’s not too late to leave. If…”

“Shut up!” shouted Huang Yun. “We haven’t attacked, but you’re already building him up and tearing me down. And here I thought of you as a senior of roughly the same generation as my ancestor. Are you seriously this spineless?”

“…” The handsome young man fell silent, so angry that he laughed. In the end, he decisively moved further away, looked at Huang Yun, and said, “I promise not to intervene, not even if he beats you to death!”

His voice was full of fury, but Huang Yun didn’t care. On the contrary, he just laughed. “That would be best!”

Su Yi took all of this in. He roughly understood what was going on.

Ultimately, the owner of the Book of Legends had no desire to fight him, at least not now. However, he had no choice but to accompany the stubborn, red-headed Huang Yun.

Was Huang Yun stupid? No, it didn’t seem that way. The way Su Yi saw it, Huang Yun was proud and temperamental, but he’d fully fused with his murderous intent in a way that an ordinary person couldn’t have imitated.

In a sense, his words and actions were in perfect alignment!

More importantly, Su Yi could tell at a glance that Huang Yun was an Eternal. This might just have been his soul clone, but it absolutely wouldn’t do to underestimate him.

“I know you have no small number of powerful hidden cards up your sleeves. Otherwise, that guy would never have tried so hard to dissuade me from killing you,” said Huang Yun, staring at Su Yi. “But I’m not afraid! It would naturally be best if I killed you, but if I can’t, I’ll at worst lose a clone. It won’t hurt a bit.”

Su Yi said airily, “If you refrain from using your hidden cards, I wouldn’t mind fighting you to the death in a true clash of the Grand Dao.”

“Truly?” Huang Yun’s eyes lit up. He was most concerned about whatever powerful hidden cards Su Yi had up his sleeves.

On their way here, the handsome young man had warned him that Su Yi’s rusted sword sheath was incomparably strange and terrifying; it had suppressed even the Book of Legends, ripping out two of its pages.

Huang Yun had hidden cards too, so he wasn’t afraid, but it would naturally be best if they could duke it out with just their personal abilities!

Before Su Yi could respond, the handsome young man said, “Everyone in the God Domain knows that Su Yi is a man of his word. He never goes back on a promise. If he says he’ll refrain from using his hidden cards, he will!”

“Excellent. A clash of the Grand Dao it is!” Huang Yun straightforwardly agreed.

Su Yi inclined his head. “We must determine life and death within three strikes. If you attack, don’t hold back.”

“Do you really think I need the reminder?” Huang Yun frowned. “I never need more than three blows to defeat my enemies!”

He pointed to the duck and chicken in the basket on Su Yi’s back. “Once you’re dead, I’ll slaughter them to commemorate your death!”

Su Yi laughed. “I hope you can pull it off.”

He spoke without mockery. On the contrary, his voice was full of deep-seated eagerness and confidence.

The handsome young man found it hard to stay calm after hearing that. He felt an indescribable sense of absurdity.

Su Yi was obviously just a Master God, and Huang Yun was obviously an Eternal, yet Su Yi had the bearing of a senior, while Huang Yun seemed like an impetuous junior!

This was the difference between their horizons and breadth of spirit, and a demonstration of the gap between their mentalities and foundations.

Admittedly, Su Yi’s cultivation was significantly beneath Huang Yun’s, but in every other way, Huang Yun was far inferior!

Boom!

As the handsome young man’s thoughts raced, Huang Yun attacked. Heaven and earth shook as a blood-red spear appeared out of nowhere and shattered the sky!

The spear was condensed entirely out of Huang Yun’s powers of the Grand Dao, and it fused fully with his murderous intent, essence, qi and spirit.

When it appeared, heaven and earth dimmed, and the entire landscape was dyed blood red.

Endlessly dense, bloody, and terrifying murderous intent swept forth like a windstorm, locking firmly onto Su Yi.

The duck and chicken squawked indignantly.

Ordinarily speaking, livestock like them would have been dead already, reduced to ash in an instant.

Yet now, here they were, alive and well. All of this was because Su Yi’s body flowed with his powers of the Grand Dao, neutralizing the far-reaching murderous intent.

“Hmph!” Huang Yun snorted, then leaped through the air, grabbed his spear, and thrust at Su Yi.

The sky split. Heaven and earth caved in, collapsed, and shattered around Su Yi.

Terrifying, blood-red light shot forth, manifesting all manner of unbelievable visions: gods crying out in grief, the collapse of countless Daos, and the masses weeping tears of blood!

That murderous intent was so intense that the handsome young man couldn’t help but narrow his eyes. He nodded to himself.

The majesty of a Limitless Dao Lord was on full display, even though the God Domain’s chaos source was suppressing him, preventing him from using his full power.

By the standards of the current God Domain, this attack was as strong as it got. It was enough to threaten a False Eternal!

As for Half-Step Eternals? They had no hope of survival!

Against the handsome young man’s expectations, in the face of this attack, Su Yi just stood there, barely moving. All he did was raise his hand and press down on the air.

It was just that light and airy, seemingly inadvertent, as if casually swatting a fly.

But then, the collapsed, withered landscape suddenly froze. The roaring gods and masses weeping tears of blood faded away.

Formless power of the Grand Dao formed beneath Su Yi’s finger, rippling outward. Wherever the ripples passed, all of the upheaval instantly died down.

All obstacles vanished in a puff of smoke.

Weng!

Huang Yun’s blood-red spear shook violently, then shattered, inch by inch.

Huang Yun’s pupils constricted, and he tossed away the remnants of his spear without hesitation, then raised his hands as if holding a tripod cauldron aloft.

A blood-red starscape formed between his hands. Countless blood-red stars cycled within it.

Then, he roared explosively, the blood-red starscape slamming down ruthlessly.

Boom!!

Heaven and earth shook violently.

Formless ripples of the Grand Dao clashed with blood-red stars, like a collision between worlds. The surrounding area was blasted to bits, reduced to powder.

The nine hundred thousand feet between Su Yi and Huang Yun collapsed completely.

The impact reached the handsome young man watching from afar. A tidal wave of power slammed into him. He had to form hand seals just to neutralize the aftermath.

Practically simultaneously, Huang Yun staggered on his feet, but in the end, he could no longer remain steady. He was forced back like a kite with its strings cut.

Bang!

He flew over ten thousand feet before finally managing to steady himself. His long hair was disheveled, his clothes were in tatters, and his unearthly face was full of bewilderment.

Su Yi had broken through this killer move with a gesture, forcing him back! How could Huang Yun not be surprised?

He naturally knew that Su Yi was unreasonably strong, and that you could in no way judge him by his cultivation base.

Still, he hadn’t anticipated that Su Yi was this unreasonably strong!

He’s far, far stronger than before… The handsome young man couldn’t help but be astonished.

Su Yi hadn’t used any external treasures in that attack, relying purely on his individual strength. He was just an Undying Realm Master God, yet he’d firmly suppressed Huang Yun, an Eternal!!

Admittedly, this Huang Yun was just a soul clone, and he could at most display strength comparable to a False Eternal.

Still, False Eternals represented the pinnacle of power in the current God Domain!

Su Yi had just forced Huang Yun back with a single casual gesture. Didn’t that mean he was strong enough to overpower False Eternals?

No, wait! The handsome young man quickly realized that he’d overlooked something. Wait, Su Yi obviously isn’t using his full strength. He’s got to be more than strong enough to pummel False Eternals.

As for the true limits of his strength…

There’s no way to tell!

The handsome young man couldn’t reach any definite conclusions, but this was still enough to astonish him. He couldn’t calm back down!
