Chapter 2353 - Don’t Kill Me!
Chapter 2353 – Don’t Kill Me!
The seawater churned, and the dome of heaven dimmed.
The collapsing air currents were full of divine radiance and soaring treasure light. The deafening sound of combat seemed like they’d tear the entire ocean apart.
The man in gray and the young woman in red were in grave peril.
The scholarly Yan Beixue was holding on, but it was a bitter struggle.
There was no longer any suspense about the ultimate outcome of this battle. Nonetheless, the golden-robed young man watching from a safe distance seemed frantic.
He cried out, “Hurry up and end this! Quickly!”
As he spoke, he glanced at the golden Daoist seal protecting the airspace above the ship and said, “Elder Mo, blast that ship to pieces!”
“Got it!” The old man locked in combat with Yan Beixue removed himself from battle and charged at the tower ship.
“Dammit!” Yan Beixue roared in fury and hesitated no longer. He waved his sleeve through the air, and… kcch!
A colorful flying knife short forth. Terrifying murderous intent instantly enveloped the surrounding area.
The hum of the blade issued forth in waves, sweeping out in all ten directions.
Countless people were startled.
But it was at that moment that the golden-robed young man burst into laughter. “You’re finally revealing the Five Elements Knife, huh? Take this, then!”
As his voice rang out, a resplendent red rope flashed through the air. Shockingly, it immediately bound the five-colored knife, preventing it from advancing any further.”
“Go on and grab it!” The golden-robed man burst into uproarious laughter. He suddenly raised his hand, and the red rope flew through the air, bringing the colorful knife with it.
Yan Beixue’s heart sank. He felt an indescribable sense of helplessness. I should never have come to the Endless Ocean!
They’ve obviously been planning this for a long time. They didn’t just prepare a thorough death trap; they even prepared cards specifically to counter mine!
It’s just a pity about all those innocents on board this ship…
Yan Beixue sighed.
He was locked in combat with the curly-bearded man. The old man in Daoist robes was already on his way to attack the ship; it was too late for Yan Beixue to stop him.
“Hah!” The old man bellowed, then suddenly waved his black fly whisk, sending the golden Daoist seal flying.
Once it was out of the way, there’d be nothing left to defend the ship. It was doomed to be completely destroyed!
“We’re finished!” The passengers gave in to despair. None of them would have guessed that the experts of Spirit Vessel Yao Court would do more than just disregard their safety; they were even attacking them directly!
Su Yi saw it all, but he remained as calm as ever. He didn’t do anything at all.
But it was then that the River Child appeared directly in front of the golden seal.
Bang!!
The black fly whisk slammed into the River Child’s body, hard.
The old man was flabbergasted. When did this kid get here?
What he found even more unbelievable was that as terrifying as his full-force attack was, it slammed into that little child without so much as scratching him!
Yan Beixue was locked in combat, but both he and the golden-robed man spectating from afar were stunned.
But the River Child didn’t care at all what they thought. His adorable little face broke into a heart-felt, exuberant smile. “You hit me, so you deserve to die! You can’t argue with that, right?”
The old man’s eyelids twitched, and he turned to flee without another thought.
Boom!
The River Child took a step forward, and swung his fist through the air.
It immediately pierced the old man’s body, creating a bloody hole.
The old man’s eyes widened in shock and disbelief. Where did this kid come from? He’s actually strong enough to overwhelm the defenses of a Seven-Tribulation Master God!?
A moment later, the old man’s body exploded with a bang, blasted to bits. His blood painted the sky red.
Everyone fell deathly silent. This bloody spectacle startled even the two combatants.
They instinctively stopped fighting and moved further away.
“It’s… that little kid!?” Yan Beixue was stunned. He recognized the River Child at a glance, and he found the situation indescribably absurd.
Even if you’d hit him over the head, he could never have anticipated this development.
“It’s you?” The young woman in red cried out. That little kid I teased was actually a deeply hidden, terrifying existence?
“Why shouldn’t it be me?” said the River Child, pouting his lips.
He was now the center of attention. Everyone gazed at him with astonishment and disbelief.
“His Excellency said that you gave me snacks, so I have to repay you properly,” said the River Child.
The young woman’s mind practically went blank. He decided to help me just because of a handful of snacks I casually passed out?
And he even went so far as to kill a Seven-Tribulation Master God in a single punch!? Who’d believe something so ridiculous?
When the golden-robed young man heard that, he looked completely flabbergasted. Fuck! He stepped forth to kill a Seven-Tribulation Master God of our Spirit Vessel Yao Court for that?
The young man almost stomped with frustration.
“Might I ask who you are, and why you’re intervening in the Spirit Vessel Yao Court’s affairs?” said the curly-bearded man, his expression full of utter dread.
But he had no choice but to speak up, as he had the highest cultivation amongst his allies.
The River Child ignored him. He waved his sleeve through the air, and the treasure ship shot through the air and vanished into the distance. Soon, it had disappeared over the horizon.
The River Child then turned his attention to the man with the curly beard.
“What are you talking about? I don’t care about the Spirit Vessel Yao Court’s business. He hit me, so I killed him. Do you have a problem with that?” giggled the River Child. “And he was with you, so isn’t it perfectly reasonable that I kill you now?”
The curly-bearded man felt a chill course through his heart. He roared, “Young Master, hurry up and run!”
Boom!
The River Child suddenly appeared in front of him and swung his fist. The man’s body burst like a soap bubble.
But the River Child didn’t stop there. He flashed about the battlefield, quick as if he were teleporting. Everywhere he went, he brought carnage with him.
The gods of the Spirit Vessel Yao Court died before they could even react, let alone fight back.
All of this happened in a snap of the fingers!
“Don’t kill me——!” The golden-robed young man shrieked, visibly overcome with terror, and he fell to his knees in midair.
He was obviously overcome with fright; he just knelt there, quivering from head to toe.
“Useless.” The River Child walked up to him, his little face full of disdain. “Relax, okay? His Excellency told me to spare you for now.”
Silence descended over the entire area.
The stench of blood permeated heaven and earth, and even a section of seawater was stained red with divine blood. The surface of the ocean churned with striking crimson waves.
The scholarly Yan Beixue, his daughter, and the gray-robed man were overcome with astonishment.
In just two snaps of the fingers, everyone from Spirit Vessel Yao Court was killed save for the young man in gold!
Never mind the Greater Gods; even Seven-Tribulation Master Gods were completely useless, like clay chickens or porcelain dogs!
Who could have imagined that all of this was the work of a single mysterious child?
It was just too terrifying!
It was then that Su Yi finally walked over and arrived on scene.
“Are you satisfied, Your Excellency?” The River Child hurried up to him, as if to report his success. His little face was full of eagerness.
“You talked too much, but you still did quite well,” Su Yi said casually.
The River Child was briefly stunned, but then, he laughed. “Rest assured, Your Excellency. I’ll fix it next time!”
“Go gather the spoils,” ordered Su Yi.
“Got it!” The River Child dashed off, black umbrella in hand, and got straight to work.
He’d been so aggressive just moments prior because Su Yi had used the power of reincarnation beforehand to obscure his aura.
There was no denying it; fighting without fear of divine punishment felt incomparably great.
Unfortunately, that power of reincarnation had already dissipated…
Yan Beixue led the young woman in red and the man in gray over, then bowed to Su Yi. “Thank you, Fellow Daoist, for coming to our aid and saving us from disaster!”
“I wouldn’t call it ‘saving you,’” said Su Yi. “I’ll decide my attitude toward you after I’ve gotten a few more answers. For now, though, you should step aside. I have questions for this person.”
As he spoke, Su Yi approached the golden-robed man.
Yan Beixue and the others considerately remained in place, but they were a bit confused. He’ll ‘decide his attitude toward us after he’s gotten a few more answers?’ What does he mean?
“Spare me, Senior! I’m Luo Yunxiu, the son of Spirit Vessel Yao Court’s grand elder! Everything is up for discussion, just please, don’t kill me!” the kneeling golden-robed man said in a quavering voice. “I promise you that if you let me live, I’ll mend my ways, and I’ll never oppose you again!”
His begging was so pathetic that even Su Yi was at a loss for words. This guy’s useless! How could someone like him have become a Greater God!?
He didn’t even need to think to know that the golden-robed man had proven his Dao and become a god with the help of his seniors. They’d paved his path and acquired his Epoch Fragment for him.
Those who became gods on their own merits might have been afraid to die too, but at the very least… they weren’t complete spineless cravens.
“Do you know anything about the Sunset Perch Dao Assembly?” asked Su Yi.
Earlier, on the tower ship, he heard other travelers mention it. Apparently, it was an event jointly hosted by a group of the Endless Ocean’s top factions.
But it was mysterious, too, as no one knew when it was to be held, or what it was intended to accomplish.
Su Yi was paying attention to it entirely because of its name, “Sunset Perch.”
When Yi Daoxuan cultivated in the Endless Ocean, he did so on Sunset Perch Island. Thus, the people called him “the Master of Sunset Perch Island.”
This naturally provoked Su Yi’s suspicions.
“I know about it!” the golden-robed man, Luo Yunxiu, said hurriedly. “The leader of Heaven’s Bounty Divine Palace first proposed the assembly. His goal was to meet and discuss important business that will affect the prosperity of all the top factions of the Endless Ocean.
“But no one knows the exact nature of the important business they plan to discuss, because as of now, numerous top factions have yet to take a stance, and it’s unclear whether or not this assembly will actually pan out.”
When Su Yi heard that, he couldn’t help but frown. “If they haven’t even worked out those basic details yet, why cause such a large fuss that everyone in the Endless Ocean knows about the assembly?”
“I… I don’t know about that,” said Luo Yunxiu, lowering his head. “That’s top secret. I’m afraid only true top authority figures could answer that.”
Su Yi pondered briefly, then asked, “Where is the founder of Spirit Vessel Yao Court, Master Golden Crane, located nowadays?”
On his first day in the Endless Ocean, Su Yi learned that Master Golden Crane had vanished a long time ago, and there’d been no sign of him ever since.
Some said he’d gone into seclusion, while others said he was out wandering. Either way, there was no definitive answer.
And Master Golden Crane was one of the friends who’d betrayed Yi Daoxuan back then!
“Our founder?”
Luo Yunxiu looked stunned. It seemed he hadn’t anticipated that Su Yi would ask such a question.
