First Immortal of the Sword

Chapter 2349 - Brutality

Chapter 2349 – Brutality

Su Yi had no time to think about anything else. Liuxiang Hen was plenty dangerous on his own, and that’s before factoring in the potential others involved.

Boom!

Divine flame took to the sky, soaring like a dragon.

Su Yi was injured, and he had no intention of clashing with it. Instead, he tried to dodge.

But this gave Liuxiang Hen an opportunity to rapidly close the distance between them.

If things went on like this, it wouldn’t be long before Liuxiang Hen caught up to him. He wouldn’t be able to flee after that.

“It’s not that I want to see you beg me, but that you’ll need my help to survive this!” The heart devil’s voice emanated from within the sheath. “With me here, overcoming this crisis will be a snap!”

Su Yi’s brow furrowed. He paid the heart devil no heed.

He knew what his first incarnation’s heart devil wanted. That was why he’d kept the sheath sealed with the power of reincarnation, and why he’d refrained from using it.

Besides, he wasn’t really out of options. How could he possibly give the heart devil a chance to strike?

Kaboom!!

Lightning ran rampant, incinerating three hundred thousand feet of sky.

Liuxiang Hen attacked once more, almost burning Su Yi alive. Numerous scorch marks appeared all over his body.

The terrifying strength of a Nine Tribulation Master God was on full display.

They were, after all, the experts at the pinnacle of the God Domain.

And once, a long, long time ago, Liuxiang Hen was one of Li Fuyou’s greatest enemies. How could he possibly be ordinary?”

“Su Yi, are you this inept without others to help you?” said Liuxiang Hen, his voice cold, indifferent, and barbed with mockery.

His voice had only just rung out when he appeared suddenly in front of Su Yi and reached for his throat.

Clang!!

The hum of a sword rang out, and the Sword of Proximity erupted with monstrous force, manifesting the mysterious, inscrutable aura of reincarnation.

The power of this strike was far greater than before!

But Liuxiang Hen still shattered it simply by raising his hand.

When the tyrannical power of his palm descended, the Sword of Proximity flew from Su Yi’s grip, and Su Yi was forced back, blood pouring from the corners of his lips.

His wounds were just too heavy. His body was so battered that it was on the brink of falling apart.

But Su Yi still wasn’t concerned.

He’d been injured far more severely than this before, and not just once, either!

“You aren’t Liuxiang Hen!” Su Yi’s eyebrows shot up.

Liuxiang Hen froze, then burst into laughter. “Then let me ask you this. If I’m not Liuxiang Hen, who am I?”

Boom!

He took a step forward, and the sky caved in on all sides. Countless currents of spatial power surged forth, as if forming a cage around Su Yi to seal off every possible escape route.

“Hurry! If you don’t let me help you soon, you’ll really be finished!” the heart devil urged from inside the rusted sheath. “If I attack, I’ll help you kill him, and I can even tell you the secret of how he came back to life!”

Su Yi ignored him. The more dangerous the situation was, the less willing he was to ask the heart devil for help.

“Actually, that no longer matters. What matters is that so long as I kill you, your powers of reincarnation, the Epoch Spark, and everything else about you will become mine!”

As his calm voice rang out, Liuxiang Hen shifted through the air and arrived near Su Yi. A hint of a smile tugged at his lips, as if he knew his victory was certain.

He raised his hand and reached for Su Yi’s throat once more.

Su Yi’s gaze was calm. He made no attempt to dodge.

But it was then that a black umbrella appeared in front of him.

A child in thick red Daoist robes was holding it aloft.

And the child’s hand had seized Liuxiang Hen’s right wrist.

Liuxiang Hen’s pupils constricted.

The child’s innocent, guileless little face was suddenly hideously contorted. He said slowly and clearly, “Fuck you, you son of a bitch! How dare you humiliate His Excellency!”

Crunch!

The River Child tightened his grip, yanked, and pulled until Liuxiang Hen’s arm resembled a fried dough twist.

Liuxiang Hen erupted with divine flames and retreated explosively, but the River Child stuck to him like a shadow, one hand gripping his black umbrella, the other holding Liuxiang Hen’s arm fast.

When the River Child swung it, he raised Liuxiang Hen into the air, like a child playing with a toy hammer. Then, he slammed him into the ground.

Bang!!

The ground broke on impact, forming an unfathomably deep chasm.

Liuxiang Hen’s face was smeared with dirt. A muffled grunt escaped his lips, and his expression filled with rage and fury.

Before he could get back to his feet, the River Child jumped onto his back, yanked, and roared, “Fuck your mother! Who the hell are you? Speak, or else, I swear I’ll beat the shit out of you!”

He ripped Liuxiang Hen’s right arm clean off.

It was just too brutal!

The River Child was like a berserk primordial giant crocodile intent on tearing Liuxiang Hen to pieces.

Su Yi keenly detected that both when his wrist broke and when his arm was torn off, Liuxiang Hen’s wounds didn’t bleed. Rather, they scattered a mysterious rain of gray light.

Just as I thought. Liuxiang Hen really is dead, and this isn’t a living being! Su Yi’s thoughts raced. The situation seemed increasingly strange.

This was because the “Liuxiang Hen” before him looked just like the real thing, right down to his cultivation base, aura, and even his secret arts and imposing majesty!

“Struggle! Fight back! You were so aggressive early, weren’t you? Come on, keep going! You @%$!&*!

The River Child seethed with murderous intent and fought as if frenzied, using his absolute advantage in strength to pummel Liuxiang Hen.

His little mouth looked as sweet as could be, but when he opened it, one expletive after another came out, all of them too vile to repeat. The rightful source is novel·fire.net

Su Yi couldn’t help but rub his forehead.

It had been just over a year since the River Child had left the Ruins of Supreme Emergence, but he’d obviously acquired the bad habits and vulgar language of the cities and markets.

He didn’t seem at all like a terrifying existence who’d lived since the Age of Supreme Emergence. No, he seemed more like a hooligan on a street corner.

Splurt! Splurt!

Before long, all four of Liuxiang Hen’s limbs had been torn off. He now lay in pieces.

In the end, the River Child even tore his head off, then kicked it into the air, where it exploded into pieces.

When the River Child next took a step forward, he was like a primordial divine statue shattering the mountains and rivers. Liuxiang Hen’s body completely fell apart.

His sheer brutality was a vivid encapsulation of the phrase “extreme violence.”

But then, something strange happened.

In the blink of an eye, Liuxiang Hen’s figure reappeared in the distance.

All in one piece, without even the slightest wounds!

This unbelievable scene left the River Child unwittingly stunned. Don’t tell me this guy is indestructible!?

“I would never have guessed you’d be able to call such a strange little creature to your aid,” said Liuxiang Hen, his face ashen and his eyes flashing.

There was no doubt about it. The River Child’s strength had startled him.

A moment later, he suddenly burst into laughter. “But that’s no longer important. Su Yi, I’ve already set my sights on you, and I’ve seen through some of your hidden cards. Next time…”

Boom!!

The River Child attacked suddenly, swinging his fist and blasting Liuxiang Hen’s body to bits.

“You bastard——!!”

A moment later, Liuxiang Hen recovered once more, looking utterly enraged.

“He really is recovering! I’ll try again, then!” The River Child leaped and raised his hand. It erupted with monstrous, grinding power.

Liuxiang Hen turned and fled, but it was too late.

Boom!

His body was ground to pieces, bit by bit.

This was the source power of Reverse Flow River, and it was enough to grind away the souls of even Nine-Tribulation Undying Realm Master Gods.

But strangely, the River Child failed. In the blink of an eye, Liuxiang Hen appeared once more. It was just that this time, he appeared far further in the distance, and his figure was woefully indistinct, as if a passing wind might blow him apart.

Su Yi and the River Child instantly realized that Liuxiang Hen wasn’t really indestructible, and that every time he was blasted apart, his power diminished considerably!

“Fuck! You almost tricked me, you bastard! Die already!” roared the River Child as he attacked once more.

“Just you wait!” Liuxiang Hen turned and fled.

The River Child was just about to give chase when Su Yi said, “Watch out for a backlash!”

The River Child stiffened, then shot back to where he’d been standing earlier. A moment later, he was by Su Yi’s side once more.

Boom!

The power of the Laws surged into the sky, arising from the void.

Fortunately, at a critical juncture, Su Yi used the power of reincarnation to obscure the River Child.

The Laws, having lost their target, gradually receded into dormancy before vanishing altogether.

The River Child felt a massive weight lift from his shoulders. He pounded his chest and said, “Fortunately, you warned me and lent me your aid just in time, Your Excellency!”

Su Yi said nothing at all, instead gazing in the direction Liuxiang Hen had fled in. His brow furrowed.

This attack had been too sudden, and it was just too strange.

Liuxiang Hen, his assailant, was even stranger and more out of the ordinary.

But after this battle, Su Yi realized that he’d been wrong earlier.

This fake “Liuxiang Hen” hadn’t brought any helpers. That alone strongly suggested that he wasn’t the real thing.

Because even back then, Liuxiang Hen wouldn’t have dared to fight Li Fuyou one-on-one!

It was only when Master God Yun He, the Angler, the Dipankara Buddha, and other old-timers were participating that Liuxiang Hen dared to get involved.

“Your Excellency, who is that guy? He’s just too strange. He looks just like the Liuxiang Hen I killed, right down to his cultivation base and energy fluctuations,” the River Child couldn’t help but ask.

Su Yi shook his head. “I don’t know.”

He looked askance at the River Child. “Have you been following me ever since I left the Ruins of Supreme Emergence?”

The River Child hung his head, like a flustered child. “Over the past year, I visited lots of places and saw lots of people. I learned a lot, but I was always ill at ease.

“Later, I thought about it, and I realized that it was because I lacked my pillar of support. I lacked a strong backer to shield me from the wind and rain.”

The River Child’s adorable little face was utterly solemn. “And you are my pillar of support, Your Excellency! You’re my backer! It’s only when I’m by your side that I…”

“Enough!” said Su Yi. “Shut your mouth, then stand to the side.”

The River Child scratched his head, smiled foolishly, then dashed to a spot not far away. He sat upright on the ground, one hand holding a black umbrella, looking obedient and adorable as could be.

This was in stark contrast with the brutality he’d shown Liuxiang Hen just minutes prior; it was a completely different extreme.

This was the River Child. In front of Su Yi, he could weep and wail and feign pitifulness at the drop of a hat, but in battle, he was completely lawless, berserk, and brutal.

But he would only act obedient or pitiful in front of Su Yi.

Su Yi sighed to himself, gave the matter no further thought, and sat cross-legged.

As he took divine recovery medicine, he conversed with the heart devil sealed within the sword sheath.
