Chapter 2317 - Little Shit Xiao Bi
Chapter 2317 – Little Shit Xiao Bi
Muffled booms suddenly emanated from afar, shaking heaven and earth.
Even the dome of heaven seemed to sway.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
That booming rang out, again and again, drawing closer each time.
“That big guy’s headed our way!” The Mountain Guardian said from the gates of the Celestial Capital. He looked startled.
Before his voice had even finished ringing through the air, the crowd saw an enormous shadow appear over the horizon, blotting out the sun and obscuring the sky.
Upon closer inspection, that “shadow” was actually a giant figure. His head was the size of a city, and his body was like a towering mountain in motion. The clouds only reached his waist.
His eyes were like lakes, and his hair and beard were like a waterfall. Even just raising his hand, his arm seemed like an overturned mountain ridge!
He was just too enormous, like a giant, primordial god. His whole body was covered in worn-out, bloodstained armor.
With every step he took, he left a massive crater in the ground.
Master God Yun Ye and the others couldn’t help but gasp. This is indeed a ‘big guy,’ but he’s… too big!! He’s got to be at least three hundred thousand feet tall!
Everything throughout heaven and earth seemed minuscule by comparison.
“It’s that guy…” Hua Yin exclaimed from the back of his white deer. “But that doesn’t make sense. The cataclysm hit him harder than anyone, and he was trapped in Reverse Flow River. How could he have escaped?”
“It really is strange.” The moving beauty in colorful clothes was obviously surprised, too.
The first to arrive, Lu Song, furrowed his brow.
Master God Yun He and the others sensed that something wasn’t right here. Those three were trapped in the Ruins of Supreme Emergence too, so why do they think that big guy shouldn’t be here? There’s got to be an explanation for this!
“Brother Fuyou, that big guy is far stronger than the others,” Wan Zitian transmitted grimly. “I suspect that he’s already touched the threshold of the river of destiny, just like the old hunchback and Gu Huaxian!”
Su Yi nodded. The giant’s presence was indeed incomparably barbarous and fierce, and he put intense pressure on everyone around him.
Even the massive Celestial Capital seemed paltry by comparison!
The Mountain Guardian suddenly said, “That guy was the greatest expert of the Giant Spirit Race of the Age of Supreme Emergence. His name…”
“Shut up!” The towering, terrifying figure roared, “If you dare tell them my name, I’ll crush you!!”
His voice boomed like thunder, shaking the clouds and making the crowd’s ears buzz. Their hearts and bodies shook.
The crowd didn’t understand. A name, that’s all. Why react so intensely?
The Mountain Guardian rubbed his cheek and laughed bitterly. “Daoist Brother Xiao Bi, it’s just a name. It’s no more than a title. Why be so sensitive?”
Xiao… Bi? As in ‘little shit?’
How could such a fierce, terrifying, massive figure, a primordial ancient god seemingly capable of supporting the dome of heaven… have a name like that?
The crowd’s gazes were instantly strange.
Boom!
The giant instantly lost it. His eyes went bloodshot, and he raised his arms as thick as mountain ranges and struck the Celestial Capital with all his might. Despite the immense distance, this punch tore startling holes in the dome of heaven.
That terrifying destructive power made the nearby old-timers flee further away.
Boom!!!
The Celestial Capital swayed.
Divine radiance burst forth, blocking that immeasurably tyrannical strike.
The Mountain Guardian wiped the sweat from his brow, then said in a huff, “Little shit, this is the Celestial Capital. Are you sick of living!?”
Wan Zitian burst into sputtering laughter. Little shit? The Mountain Guardian’s mouth is far too vicious.
Su Yi had a strange look in his eyes. That black-hearted fatty is obviously riling him up on purpose!
The giant had originally intimidated the crowd, but now that they knew his name, he suddenly seemed comical and absurd. Their fear had faded considerably.
It seemed a name wasn’t just a name, after all. A badly chosen name could absolutely affect someone’s image and prestige.
“Ah——!!” The giant was completely enraged. His towering figure erupted with waves of dark light, and it seemed he’d soon blast the surrounding stretch of heaven and earth into pieces.
The crowd’s expressions shifted, and all of them were instantly on guard.
But just as the giant was about to fly off the handle, an ancient, raspy voice rang out.
“The Celestial Capital will disappear within moments, and that fatty will go dormant for a thousand years. Why lose your temper at him at a time like this?”
His words were like a magic invocation. The enraged giant instantly calmed down. His billowing, ferocious aura receded, and he fell silent.
However, his expression was still unsightly.
The Mountain Guardian had called him a “little shit” in front of a crowd. In doing so, he’d obviously hit him right where it hurt.
Meanwhile, everyone saw that a black Daoist altar had appeared, floating not far from the giant.
A bald, stick-thin figure stood atop it.
He wore fiery red robes, but his hands and feet were bare. His eyes were long and narrow, and he held a black sword sheath to his chest.
“Master Cloud Refiner!”
“That old devil broke free, too?”
When they saw the bald man, Lu Song and the colorfully dressed woman frowned.
Hua Yin sighed from atop his white deer. “Something’s gone wrong. Something’s definitely gone wrong!”
Everyone found this really strange. When the giant “little shit”, Xiao Bi, appeared, the other old-timers from the Age of Supreme Emergence found it strange.
But they were obviously even more surprised to see this “Master Cloud Refiner.”
All of them were old-timers long trapped in the Ruins of Supreme Emergence, so why did they think the giant Xiao Bi and Master Cloud Refiner shouldn’t be here?
Master God Yun He and the others noticed this, and so did Su Yi and Wan Zitian. The situation really was confusing, with one unexpected development after another!
Heaven and earth were stifled and oppressive. An austere atmosphere permeated the surroundings.
So many Nine-Tribulation Master Gods had gathered in one place. It was easy to imagine how terrifying their combined divine majesty was.
When Master Cloud Refiner appeared, he rode in on his black Daoist altar. The giant, Xiao Bi, followed shortly after.
None dared to stand in their way.
“Daoist Brother, do you plan to work with that giant to monopolize the power of reincarnation?” Hua Yin suddenly spoke up.
Everyone looked at Master Cloud Refiner, visibly on guard.
“That’s right!” Master Cloud Refiner’s black altar paused in place. He scanned the area, his voice low and hoarse. “If this really comes down to a fight, you won’t be any match for me!”
“That isn’t necessarily the case,” Master God Yun He said icily. “So what if you’re from the Age of Supreme Emergence? If you’re really that strong, why have you been trapped in the ruins this entire time?”
He paused, his eyes blazing with imposing light as he said slowly and clearly, “If you haven’t stepped onto the River of Destiny, you’re still just Undying Realm experts. Don’t think too highly of yourselves!”
His voice was full of contemptuous, tyrannical pride, and he spoke for Liuxiang Hen and the other old-timers, too.
Master Cloud Refiner chuckled. “I know that you have allies hidden nearby, and I know that in the present age, you’re far from comparable to ‘ordinary’ Nine-Tribulation Master Gods, but…”
He sharply changed tacks, his eyes imposing. “These are the Ruins of Supreme Emergence! Offend me, and I’m afraid none of you will leave this place alive!”
“That isn’t necessarily the case,” Hua Yin said suddenly. “Master Cloud Refiner, if you want to monopolize the rewards, our fellow Daoists of the present day aren’t the only ones who will object. We won’t agree to that, either!”
“Naturally,” said the colorfully dressed woman.
Lu Song didn’t say anything, but it was obvious that he wouldn’t just let Master Cloud Refiner act as he pleased, either.
Wan Zitian saw all of this, and he found it utterly absurd. “Brother Fuyou, it seems that all of them take us for prey they can slaughter as they see fit.”
His whole body seethed with murderous intent. He was deeply displeased.
Su Yi just laughed and said airily, “Oh? But to me, they look like dogs fighting amongst themselves. If they’re going to bite each other, it’d be best if they used their fangs.”
“Hahaha! Right! They’re just a pack of dogs!” Wan Zitian threw back his head and laughed.
The old-timers’ expressions instantly frosted over.
“Look! Our prey is making fun of us,” growled Master Cloud Refiner. “Seems to me that there’s no need to squabble. Let’s just attack together and see who comes out on top!”
“Alright!” Hua Yin said with a laugh.
“That would indeed be best,” Master God Yun He said with a cold snort. He wasn’t happy, but he had no choice but to accept it.
All eyes were instantly on Su Yi.
“Wait!” The Mountain Guardian called out. “Wait a little longer. Aren’t you worried that even more people will show up? Attacking now would be stupid! What if someone tries to swoop in and take advantage?”
The crowd frowned. The Mountain Guardian’s argument actually made sense.
Still, who could fail to realize that he was trying to help Su Yi stall for time?
“Fatty, you might be the Mountain Guardian of the Celestial Capital, and you might be working on behalf of the Supreme Emergence Spirit, but this time, you’re mistaken!” said Master Cloud Refiner.
The Mountain Guardian frowned. “How am I mistaken?”
Master Cloud Refiner said calmly, “The power of the cataclysm remains in the Ruins of Supreme Emergence. Don’t tell me you think that all of those trapped old-timers are capable of breaking free?”
Master God Yun He and the others’ eyelids twitched. Just how many terrifying old monsters are trapped in the Ruins of Supreme Emergence?
“If you people can break free, why can’t the others?” the Mountain Guardian snorted coldly.
“Hah!” Master Cloud Refiner snorted coldly. “The higher your cultivation, the harder it is to break free. I had to pay an extremely heavy price to escape. I even lost my Grand Dao True Body! Only then did I manage to break free of the Cage of Supreme Emergence!
“The natural order remains, and the Dark Days of Legend are not yet upon us. Given the circumstances, those stronger than me can forget about breaking free even if they struggle with all their might!”
He spoke with staunch conviction. He seemed incomparably certain.
Hua Yin, Lu Song, and the other old monsters of the same era finally understood.
How did Master Cloud Refiner manage to escape? Simple! He’d sacrificed one of his Grand Dao True Bodies to break free!
Master God Yun He and the others, meanwhile, picked up on some useful new information.
The higher their cultivation, the harder it was for the old monsters trapped in the ruins to break free!
It was thus clear that Master Cloud Refiner was the mightiest expert of the Age of Supreme Emergence present!
