Chapter 2315 - The Three Supreme Emergence Forces
Chapter 2315 – The Three Supreme Emergence Forces
“That was close! Dao Venerate Lu’s avatar of will has finally vanished.” The Mountain Guardian wiped cold sweat from his brow and let out a long pent-up breath.
The curtains had fallen on this grand battle, but a long time passed before the crowd came back to their senses.
The Mountain Guardian, however, seemed eager to see his guests out. “The Celestial Capital is no longer safe. I urge you to leave as soon as possible.”
Many of the onlookers instantly came back to their senses. They couldn’t help but feel solemn, and several of them left promptly, including Qi Wei and Si Ming.
Earlier, on Blue Sky Divine Mountain, Su Yi had already made his position clear. He didn’t want them to get involved.
Even so, before they left, they expressed their willingness to help him once more. After all, everyone knew that although the curtains had fallen on the battle in the Celestial Capital, Su Yi’s enemies were lying in wait immediately outside it.
Out there, Su Yi wouldn’t be able to borrow the power of divine punishment.
However, Su Yi refused their help again and urged them to leave sooner rather than later. In the end, his allies realized they wouldn’t be able to persuade them, and they left quickly.
“Fellow Daoist Su, you sure tricked me last time.” Yan Shuiming walked over and sighed.
Back at Qingwu Divine Court, he’d lost to Su Yi while he was still disguised as Xiao Jian. This defeat had come as a heavy blow.
But now that he knew Su Yi’s real identity, Yan Shuiming accepted his defeat.
“Your master didn’t tell you who I was?” asked Su Yi.
During their duel, Su Yi sensed someone watching in secret, and he was certain that it had to be Yan Shuiming’s master, Xu Zuizhen, a terrifying expert of mysterious origins.
“He sort of told me, but I didn’t understand at the time,” said Yan Shuiming. He pondered briefly, then continued, “Fellow Daoist Su, will you need help after leaving the Celestial Capital?”
Su Yi shook his head. “You’d best leave quickly. The Celestial Capital will close within twelve hours and vanish from this world. Wait too long, and you won’t be able to leave.”
Yan Shuiming nodded, bade farewell, and left.
“When you see your master, thank him on my behalf,” Su Yi called out from behind him.
Yan Shuiming was stunned. “When did Master help you, Fellow Daoist Su? Why thank him?”
Su Yi laughed. “Don’t tell me that you’ve forgotten about the Osmanthus Tree of the Toad Palace?”
Yan Shuiming instantly understood. He murmured, “No wonder Master sent me to challenge Qingwu Divine Court. I suspect he guessed your identity a long time ago!”
“Go ahead and leave,” said Su Yi. He waved.
Yan Shuiming turned and left without any further hesitation.
Before long, only Su Yi and the Mountain Guardian were left in the enormous Celestial Capital.
“Fellow Daoist Su, if you’re worried about running into danger after leaving the city, you’re welcome to stay,” the Mountain Guardian said cheerily. “In twelve hours, the Celestial Capital will close its doors and vanish. You’re welcome to go into seclusion here, then leave in a thousand years, when the Celestial Capital reappears.”
Su Yi’s eyebrows furrowed; he couldn’t tell if the Mountain Guardian was being sarcastic or sincerely acting out of consideration for his well-being. He said irritably, “The Dark Days of Legend will arrive in just thirty years. Do you think I can afford to wait here for a thousand years?”
The Mountain Guardian pondered briefly, then shrugged. “In that case, I’m afraid there’s nothing I can do for you. That said, I suggest that you refine your Supreme Emergence Fortune Power as quickly as possible. Ideally, you’d break through, too. That way, you’ll at least have a little more strength to defend yourself.”
“There’s no rush,” said Su Yi. He sat on the ground and took out a jug of wine. “There are a few things I need to ask you about.”
He’d just recalled something.
“Please, go right ahead, Fellow Daoist,” said the Mountain Guardian. He took a seat, too.
Su Yi said directly, “Lu Shi said you had a mistress, but you’re the spirit of a stele. She must be no ordinary person.”
The Mountain Guardian fell briefly silent, then said, “Fellow Daoist, you’ve already refined a portion of Supreme Emergence Source Power, so you naturally understand how wondrous this chaos source power is.
“My Master is a spirit born of Supreme Emergence Source Power in the earliest days of the God Domain’s history. Dao Venerate Lu Shi and the others call her ‘the Supreme Emergence Spirit!’”
The Supreme Emergence Spirit!
Su Yi’s eyes narrowed. Indeed, that’s just about what I expected. This fatty’s mistress is a Spirit of the Natural Order, just like that ‘little girl’ born of the River of Destiny!
She represents a type of unsurpassed natural order of the Grand Dao!
From this, he could conclude that when Dao Venerate Lu Shi met with the Supreme Emergence Spirit, he was hoping to acquire Supreme Emergence Source Power.
But it was obvious that Dao Venerate Lu Shi had failed to achieve his aims.
Supreme Emergence Source Power was one of the Five Great Sources. It represented one of the chaos source powers that had birthed the God Domain.
If Supreme Emergence had given rise to a spirit, it seemed logical that the other Five Great Sources had given rise to similar spirits.
Su Yi finally had answers to his questions.
The Five Great Source Powers were, respectively, Supreme Metamorphosis, Supreme Obscurity, Supreme Emergence, Supreme Simplicity, and Supreme Emptiness. They were the five chaos source energies of the God Domain.
In the God Domain, there were five ancient, primordial ruins, each located in one of the divine continents.
The Southern Flame Divine Continent’s Ruins of Supreme Emergence hid Supreme Emergence Source Power. It thus stood to reason that the other four primordial ruins each hid another chaos source power.
Su Yi pondered briefly, then asked, “Were your mistress and Lu Shi friends or enemies?”
“Neither. Dao Venerate Lu Shi simply sought my mistress out hoping to acquire Supreme Emergence Source Power, but my mistress told him in no uncertain terms that Supreme Emergence Source Power was born of chaos and could only be acquired by those chosen by fate,” said the Mountain Guardian. “Dao Venerate Lu didn’t acquire it back then, so the power of Supreme Emergence wasn’t fated for him.”
“So that’s it,” said Su Yi. “Where did your mistress go, then?”
“Fellow Daoist, you’ll naturally understand if you can master the complete Supreme Emergence Source Power.”
……
Su Yi and the Mountain Guardian chatted a while longer. In the process, Su Yi learned many secrets of the earliest days of the God Domain’s history.
One of these secrets left a particularly deep impression on Su Yi. According to the Mountain Guardian, when the Dark Days of Legend arrived, it would mean that the God Domain’s chaos source powers could no longer maintain the regular operations of the Laws!
The God Domain would then decline and wither, inviting an age of darkness, turmoil, and chaos.
And the five great chaos powers of the God Domain, the Five Supreme Sources, would become unparalleled good fortune fought over by countless heroes and elites. Whoever acquired them had hope of becoming the ruler of the Dark Days of Legend, crossing the threshold of Eternity, and reaching the River of Destiny!
Some time later.
The Mountain Guardian said suddenly, “The complete Supreme Emergence Source Power is comprised of three lesser powers. One is the Whip of Supreme Emergence, which is found on Blue Sky Divine Mountain. It’s akin to divine punishment.
“The second is the Flame of Supreme Emergence located in Sundial City. The third is the Mark of Supreme Emergence, which is found at the source of Reverse Flow River. Combined, these three powers form the complete Power of Supreme Emergence.
“However, Sundial City and Reverse Flow River are both among the most dangerous, taboo areas in the Ruins of Supreme Emergence. They’re far, far more dangerous than the Celestial Capital.”
Here, the Mountain Guardian sighed. “But before worrying about that, you’d best consider how you’ll fight your way to safety after leaving the Celestial Capital. I really won’t be able to assist you.”
Su Yi nodded. He’d been prepared to face danger when leaving the city all along, and he wasn’t worried about it.
What really interested him were Sundial City and Reverse Flow River!
The Ruins of Supreme Emergence were full of numerous mysterious, unknown grounds.
Yi Daoxuan had once explored Sundial City. Li Fuyou hadn’t, but he had gone to Reverse Flow River.
Su Yi naturally understood just how dangerous both places were.
Sundials were tools used to track the flow of time.
There was an ancient sundial in Sundial City. It hung high above the city center. Its surface was divided into twelve two-hour sections.
When someone entered the city, as the sundial reflected the passing of time, different strange and terrifying things would arise!
Su Yi soon set all such thoughts aside, then focused on his cultivation.
Earlier, in the ancient starry void over Sky Blue Divine Mountain, he acquired an incomparable superabundance of Supreme Emergence Fortune Power.
He still had yet to fully refine it.
That aside, the Epoch Spark had absorbed an enormous abundance of Supreme Emergence Fortune Power, and it had undergone an astonishing metamorphosis as a result. Su Yi needed time to contemplate the mysteries therein.
The Mountain Guardian didn’t disturb Su Yi any further. He just sat there in silence and thought back to the distant past.
Yi Daoxuan had come here. Li Fuyou had visited, too.
The Mountain Guardian had witnessed both of their trials, and he’d seen their extraordinary bearing firsthand.
But Su Yi was unquestionably far more extraordinary, because despite the countless years since the God Domain’s inception, he was the first person to have mastered even a portion of Supreme Emergence Source Power!
……
The Celestial Capital hung nine hundred thousand feet in the air.
The atmosphere outside the city was silent and oppressive.
Wan Zitian gripped his Dao Sword and stood outside the city gates.
Master God Yun He, Liuxiang Hen, Yue Youyuan, and the other old monsters stood there, all of them seething with murderous intent.
All of them were waiting. They knew that the moment Su Yi emerged from the Celestial Capital, the long-brewing battle would begin!
Others watched from further away, but there weren’t many of them. The vast majority of the experts who’d entered the Celestial Capital had already left. Few dared to linger.
This was because if a battle of Nine-Tribulation Master Gods broke out, the aftermath alone would be more than they could bear.
Time slipped by.
Wan Zitian stood there in silence, accumulating sword force. It had already reached terrifying heights.
Master God Yun He stood on his wooden sword, his gaze cold and indifferent. He and the other old-timers had just suffered badly, and although their wounds weren’t heavy, they were incomparably humiliating.
All of them stood there suppressing bellies full of fire.
“Less than an hour remains. After that, the Celestial Capital will close and vanish from the face of the God Domain!” Liuxiang Hen said gravely. “I refuse to believe that Su Yi will stay turtled up inside!”
“When he comes out, don’t waste any time talking to him. Just attack!” Master God Yun He said coldly.
He could barely suppress the seething murderous intent building in his heart!
