Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2735: She Hasn’t Returned in Over Ten Years
The distance from abroad to home is neither too close nor too far, as if it can be covered in the time it takes to take a nap.
Little Clementine had never been on a plane before and was so scared she cried at first, but after a while, she calmed down, eagerly looking out the window at the blue skies and white clouds.
Jasmine Yale would feed her candy and patiently coax her to sleep.
The little one was very sensible, not crying or making a fuss, happily playing by herself.
When they reached Willow Wave City, it was exactly around two or three in the morning, and Jasmine Yale took a taxi from the airport to the Willow Wave City Hotel.
With one arm holding Little Clementine and the other pulling the suitcase, she stood at the hotel entrance looking at the nightscape and sky of Willow Wave City.
The sky was black and endless; because of the city lights, stars were nearly indiscernible, only gently drifting white clouds, and in between, there seemed to be a faint Milky Way.
Light clouds play coy, shooting stars convey longing, silently across the distant Milky Way.
Jasmine Yale’s lips curled up slightly, her clear eyes gazing at the elusive Milky Way.
Tenderness flows like water, Jasmine dreams like a dream, struggling to bear the path back to the magpie bridge.
The Milky Way is shallow, but it can never be crossed again.
The night breeze blew her long hair, her jet-black strands fluttering in the wind, her fair face displaying serene tenderness.
Little Clementine burrowed into her arms, curling into a ball: "Mom..."
Jasmine brought back her wandering thoughts, leaned down to cover Little Clementine with a shawl, and gently rubbed her tiny head.
"Little one." Jasmine fondly cuddled her, returning to the hotel.
Little Clementine didn’t know where this place was, just looked around curiously, probably noticing the people here seemed different from those in Cakago, so she kept staring.
The handsome young man at the front desk noticed this cute little girl and slipped her a piece of chocolate.
Little Clementine was delighted.
Finding their room, Jasmine Yale took Little Clementine inside.
Having been away from Willow Wave City for many years, except for a brief visit a few years back to collect a keepsake, she hadn’t returned for over a decade.
This hotel was a new construction; she remembered when she was a child, this area was just wasteland.
Development had been rapid.
Though Willow Wave City hadn’t changed much over these years, with the general economic growth domestically, there had been development here.
High skyscrapers were rare back then, now you can find office buildings, malls, and apartment complexes everywhere.
It had become somewhat unfamiliar to her.
But Willow Wave City was still the Willow Wave City she knew.
It was filled with traces of her childhood; the most memorable were the cicadas chirping in summer, the snow in winter, and the gravel roads she walked on.
Jasmine Yale bathed Little Clementine, dressed her in pretty pajamas, and only after she lulled Little Clementine to sleep, did she take a simple shower.
Sitting on the balcony, she dried her hair, silently watching the starry sky outside.
In the quiet of two or three in the morning, Willow Wave City was exceptionally peaceful, so quiet that she could hear her own breathing, feeling a bit tired.
Tomorrow morning, she would be heading to Green Peak Village.
She had already contacted the director of the orphanage in Green Peak Village, and once she arrived, she would work there as a teacher.
Due to inconvenient transportation and the challenges of life, few volunteers went to Green Peak Village, so the director was thrilled about her arrival and had arranged accommodation for her and Little Clementine.
Jasmine Yale realized this was a new beginning.
Dealing with children would be much simpler; she no longer had to worry about being manipulated or having to learn those strategies and skills.
No need for socializing, no need for entertaining, she could finally live the purest life.
