Chapter 2633: President Caddel, She Is My Woman

She leaned weakly against the wall, the footsteps behind her coming closer and closer, nearer and nearer.

It was the first time she had ever felt such terror at the sound of footsteps; the man’s leather shoes pressed into the carpeted corridor, and a chill ran down her spine as sweat broke out all over her.

The heat inside her body was still spreading; she bit down hard on her lip, trying to run forward...

The footsteps behind her were speeding up.

In her heart she kept shouting, "Don’t come over, don’t come over," yet the person behind her only drew nearer and nearer.

Jasmine Yale was trembling, even her shoulders were shaking.

Fear, panic, and despair surged up together, from head to toe, drowning her.

This endless night, this boundless rain, buried her in silence and darkness.

Navy Caddel reached out and grabbed her arm from behind; a chilly smile spread across his face. "Don’t run, you can’t get away. I miss you."

"Lunatic!" Jasmine didn’t dare look back; she cursed once.

But under the influence of the drug, though she was clearly cursing, her tone changed, sounding instead like a coquettish murmur.

Her shoulders were shaking, shaking badly; she was terrified.

Navy Caddel’s hand caught hold of her, and just as he was about to pull her into his arms, suddenly—

A tall, black figure flashed at the end of the corridor. The man strode forward, seized Jasmine Yale’s wrist and gave a hard yank; his other hand supported her waist, encircling her tightly and pulling her into his own embrace.

"Ah!"

Jasmine staggered and fell against his chest, her eyes filled with dazed surprise, unable to react.

But that chest... she knew it all too well.

His chest, his palms, his warmth, his scent... she knew them all.

The corridor lights were very dim, but even in the murky glow she could still see his face clearly—features like they were carved, his expression hard and cold; in his pitch-black eyes flickered a hidden gloom, like an unfathomable sea. The line of his jaw was clenched tight, and his thin lips held not a trace of curve or warmth.

He...

Jasmine shifted slightly, but Sylvan Cheney pinned her in place, not letting her move, one large hand still gripping her waist tightly.

Jasmine was burning all over, hot and exhausted; she lay against Sylvan Cheney’s chest, her face pressed to his suit and shirt.

The scent on his body scraped at her nerves; she bit down on her lips, frowning.

Navy Caddel’s hand was frozen in midair, still in the posture of about to pull Jasmine into his arms.

Seeing Sylvan Cheney, he gave a small smile and walked toward Jasmine. "Baby, come home with me, stop making trouble."

His voice made Jasmine’s scalp tingle, her shoulders trembling; she was very afraid, her pupils shrinking.

She kept her head buried in Sylvan Cheney’s chest, not daring to lift it.

She didn’t know if it was because Sylvan sensed how badly she was shaking, but his big hand pressed on her waist, pulling her even closer to him.

"President Caddel, she’s my woman. I let her out of my sight for a moment and she got lost. Sorry to trouble you, President Caddel." Sylvan Cheney spoke, his low voice edged with a barely leashed fury.

Sylvan Cheney’s sharp, dark eyes stared straight at Navy Caddel, his face equally overcast.

"And who might you be? How come I’ve never seen you before? This woman works for my company—how is she yours?" Navy Caddel said blandly. "Why don’t you ask her if she’s my son’s secretary."

Jasmine felt so awful it was as if a ball of fire were burning inside her body, her throat parched with thirst.

She was in agony...
