Chapter 499: Reaction From All Sides
Chapter 499: Reaction From All Sides
[My god, that's not real, right?]
[So that's the reason why the Flame Rose Guild quickly left when the Undead Event had just concluded! They already had future plans!]
The news about the monster horde quickly ignited a heated discussion on the web as every single concerning individual all quickly made plans or changed their previous plans.
The War Temple's Guild Leader, Armstrong, also received the news and was bewildered when he heard about it.
"Monster Horde huh" he was seen muttering to himself while behind him, his guild members were busy besieging a huge cow walking on two legs while wielding battle axes on both of its hands.
"26%! It's coming! Healers and Wizards, deploy defensive buffs!"
Mooo!!!
When the monster's health finally fell to 25%, it released a powerful bellow filled with madness, its eyes had become blood red and its body had started to release a subtle dark, ominous aura around it.
Berserk is when a monster, most especially when a boss monster hits a certain health gauge and that causes them to go berserk which increases their overall abilities, making them more dangerous and harder to take down and at least 70% of guilds in the game would fail during this section of a boss raid.
While the War Temple is preparing new plans during a boss raid, another guild is also doing the same.
Kunlun Guild, currently stationed at a nearby large village.
After the events of the Undead Rising, the Kunlun Guild had accepted a quest and was currently accompanying a small army from the small kingdom of Gratia, just at the Northeastern side of the Sunrise Empire.
It borders the Empire to its west, the sea to the north and with another kingdom on its western border.
They are currently participating in a quest to subjugate a large Lizardman Tribe with the Gratia Army spearheading the quest.
"Bossman, have you seen what's happening in the gaming community?" a man suddenly entered the tent where Orkhon is currently busy repairing his equipment.
"I saw it. Don't bother, if there is really is a monster horde, then this event would probably last longer than the Undead Horde" what he truly meant by the latter part of his words was because unlike the Undead Horde were they move like a hive, the monsters of the monster horde can move according to their own thinking, making them even more dangerous than the emotionless undead.
"But…"
"No buts, those monsters came from an unexplored region. They're not something the current player base can handle.
Right now, this is a fight between the indigenous residents of the game and we can only stand at the sideline and pick up the crumbs they left behind" the warrior wanted to persuade him, but Orkhon quickly cut him off and told him something that would make it easier for him to understand and also so that the man won't think that he's not interested.
With that, the warrior nodded in understanding and just left.
Klang! Klang! Klang!
Orkhon resumed pounding his weapon while deep in thought.
'Just a little more and soon, I'll be able to raise my reputation and prestige. When that happens, I can apply to become a Baron from the Kingdom and I can finally start my real plan by then'
Klang! Klang! Klang!
On another corner of the eastern continent, War Temple Guild, Temporary Quarters, Medici Bay.
The executives of the guild had gathered at a residence they rented in the city.
"Everyone should decide now, should we leave for the Monster Horde or accept the quest that the Flame Rose Guild had offered to us?" Armstrong, who had learned of the recent happenings in Everwinter, quickly gathered the officers of the guild who were just preparing the guild for departure to Orvon Kingdom.
"News just came that except for that Fire Dragon, the monster horde seemed to have stopped in their tracks at the border of Neverwinter. I think we should go for the former for now boss, I feel like the new event this time wouldn't easily end as compared to the previous one" sitting by his right, replied the man with a star shaped tattoo on his left temple.
Hearing him, everyone including Armstrong quickly checked the game community and also saw the news, which made the latter furrow his brows.
"The monster horde is indeed profitable, but we can't miss out on a possible quest connected to the Main Storyline, Guild Leader. Everyone should know that not more than three Unique Quest have appeared so far, and that's only what the public knows.
We don't even know if the other major guilds have encountered their own Unique Quest and hid it, and while we're gathered here like this, a Main Storyline is probably almost within their reach. So I think we should prioritize our cooperation with the Flame Rose Guild and help them with the quest they received.
Besides, the guild can also be considered as part of the alliance since Minerva is the Chairman's daughter" a woman in priestess garbs offered her own insight on the matter.
Everyone looked at each other and couldn't help but agree to her words.
"Uhh, I'm not very smart, but I know she does have a point" a burly man with a huge rectangular curved shield leaning against his chair timidly raised his voice in agreement to her words.
Hearing his voice, everyone turned their heads towards him and when the man felt the numerous eyes staring at him, he sheepishly smiled and scratched the side of his head.
"Whoa! It's been a while since Mugak has talked this much!"
"He must be really excited about the Unique Quest since our guild…well most guilds have never managed to encounter one so far."
"Uhh..I..I just like fighting here si..since I tend to..to l-lose control in the r-real world and ac..accidentally kill people. So..so I'd like for u-us to finish the Uni..unique Quest soon so we..we can fi..fight the mo..monster horde!" Mugak said with a light laugh to hide the embarrassment on his face while saying those words.
"Yeah, this dude goes crazy every time there's brawl between the groups."
"Well, he didn't get called the Human Orc for being sane, right?"
Armstrong just sighed and felt like this meeting was slowly derailing from its initial objective, "Enough, time is of essence. Let's all just vote, shall we?"
